You don't get to create a "baby registry" for a child you've been fostering for over a year now that you're adopting them. And you certainly don't get to just say "We've got an adoption date. If you want to celebrate, buy this stuff. We won't be having a party or cake or coffee or anything. So don't come over and actually celebrate, Just buy all the things." (Not really what was quoted, but might have well have been)
