Re: High Risk Check-In 8/1

  • How far along are you? 31 weeks 6 days

Why are you high-risk? GD, Age, BMI, etc.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Yep, Ultrasound/OB, and NST So begins the weekly NST's.

    Any concerns/news currently?
Bebe isn't moving as much. No clue if she is still breech or not (will find out more tomorrow). Hoping all is well and that int he next few weeks we can settle into when the dr's think she roughly will come or be included or if they think we will have to do a c-section.

GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
At this point I would just be super happy to eat the crust lol. Thin crust sausage with raw onions. Wood Fire Mediterranean, thick crust pesto.

  • How far along are you?
    33 wks 4 days

    Why are you high-risk?
    gd

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
    Weekly ob and nst appointment

    Any concerns/news currently?
First NST went great last week. It was a little scary because they left me alone for most of it and there was a lot of scary beeping from the machine. I had the dr. Explain it all to me after and all is good. I usually have one or two good days a week now and the rest I rather be in bed.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
    NST's
keep going well. I am scared to death I am going to go to one and they say it is time to have the baby.

GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
I miss pizza!! I am pretty boring and love cheese pizza.
  • How far along are you?
    34 weeks
    Why are you high-risk?
    I carry an antibody.
Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Had my midwife appointment yesterday.  No blood draws for two weeks.
    Any concerns/news currently?
Ended up at my midwifes office last week due to contractions.  I was having one every 6-7 minutes but my cervix was still completely posterior and closed.  I am having another spell of contractions again today but nothing regular or painful.  Baby needs to stay put! My midwife does not think I will have a preterm baby because DS was full term.
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
That baby stays put till at least 37 weeks!
GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
    All the veggies!
  • How far along are you?
    35 weeks 1 day
    Why are you high-risk?
    Placental abruption
Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Get ready y'all ... had my regular NST today my doc is on vacation so I went to a different one at the same practice. She decided let check your cervix and see if your dilated for fun basically. That's fine I get checks all the time it just wasn't planned this week. SHE WAS SO ROUGH I had blood dripping down my leg when I got home! I am pretty pissed off about it. Has anyone else had this happen?
Also, I have my normal biophysical Friday.
    Any concerns/news currently?
I posted about it in symptoms so I won't go into detail ... I'm just miserable and grumpy and I want to be done! I'm having a rough day  :'(
Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
That baby stays in there until he gets he invatation to come out In 2 weeks and that everything continues to go smoothly.
GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
    Pepperoni stuffed crust
  • @cchenal07 I'm so sorry to hear you're having a rough time. All the extra tests and things can be scary, you can always PM me if you need someone to talk to! I had a really difficult time adjusting to being high risk.
  • @Breath_Easy92 a month ago when I went to the OB's office because of bleeding - the midwife I saw for an urgent appt did a cervical check and it was only slightly uncomfortable and just caused a tiny bit of bleeding (I had already stopped bleeding from the episode that caused me to go to the OB in the first place). After that they sent me to the hospital for monitoring, where I had two more cervical checks in the next ~4 hrs. Both of those were SO rough and made me bleed a lot more than any of the bleeding I've had this pregnancy. It's like they wanted to be extra sure my cervix was closed so they were really digging around in there. So uncomfortable! Fortunately my OB is not one to do frequent cervix checks - she did one at 19 weeks when it was first discovered I had a short cervix just to get a baseline and then won't check me again until the day before the induction.

    How far along are you?
    35w4d

    Why are you high-risk?
    Short cervix, suspected placental abruption

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
I have my weekly biophysical profile ultrasound and OB appt on Thursday.

    Any concerns/news currently?
I can't believe I'm being induced in 10 days! I'm starting to feel anxious about what I have left to finish for work in the 7 work days I have left. Hopefully I can get it all done without too much stress.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
That baby stays in until at least 36 weeks (only 3 more days to get there!), no more bleeding.

GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
Ham, pineapple, and caramelized onions. YUM.

    How far along are you?
    34w 4d

    Why are you high risk?
GD, previous pre-e, DS medical history

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
I had a NST on Monday which turned into a BPP because baby girl wasn't behaving which almost turned into a trip to the hospital.  Got my sensor checked on Monday too, and they added insulin at breakfast. I struggled with that.

Another NST Thursday and growth scan Monday.

    Concerns?
I'm secretly hoping that they decide to move my c sections up to 37 weeks at my ultrasound Monday.  I'm just concerned given my DS history.

    GTKY:
i like a thin crust pizza and one of our favorite places does a cheeseburger pie and Buffalo Mac and cheese which is to die for

@Rhubarb7216 my regular doc does them every so often but I never have any bleeding st all even with the speculum, this chick just went to town! I feel like I have bleeding PTSD though because even though I know it's from the exam I've just been so nervous about it, it's all I can think about.

also, my friend said it sounds like they were trying to "stretch" my cervix since they said it was very soft but not dilated? I've never heard of that. Has anyone else?
  • @Breath_Easy92
Thank you for the kind words! It is an adjustment when my pregnancy with DS was super smooth. I just keep counting down the appointments until my RCS! 6 more including today I just have to keep this baby healthy and happy where they are.

  • @cchenal07, I feel you about having a smooth pregnancy in the past and then this one being so different. It's been a rollercoaster for me too but you are SO close! Hang in there!

Why are you high-risk? Low platelets

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I see the hematologist weekly (Mon) and OB on Tuesdays.

    Any concerns/news currently?
My platelets dropped again this week so I'm being induced the night of 8/13 (with the hopes of a 8/14, 37 weeks delivery)

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
Platelets above 100K so I can have an epidural.

GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
I'm super plain, cheese & pepperoni
  • @Breath_Easy92 Um that sounds absolutely horrifying. I've heard cervical checks can be not fun but that sounds a little more than it needed to be! I haven't had one yet..

@sbl0609 Eek so soon! Praying for your platelets to be cooperative so you can get that epidural if you choose!

I haven't had an NST at all yet! I wonder if it's because I have ultrasounds now twice weekly. But I kind of want one just to experience it.

Why are you high-risk? Type 1 DM, MTHFR

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
    Twice weekly ultrasounds!

    Any concerns/news currently?
This insulin resistance is hard! Dinner time is crazy. Going up to 200 and it's a process to get it down - finally comes down at like 1 am :/ and then I wake up in the 70s! Rawr.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
Just good placental function, blood flow, and no crazy baby weight gain!

GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
Out to eat: New York style extra large cheese! Fold the slice in half and let that grease drip off.. and sprinkle parmesan on it! Yum!

  • @Sugargirl1019 I've had quite a few cervical checks none were ever like that before... I kind of feel like she did something they didn't tell me about. I'm sorry you keep struggling with rough highs and lows, it's almost over!  Wishing you happier levels until then :)
  • Had my 32 week ultrasound yesterday and baby is weighing roughly 3.15 pounds (a little over 25 percent) with a femur that is in the 50 percentile. Happy to see she isn't measuring big as I have GD...but a little concerned that at 27 weeks they were saying she was weighing 2.8 pounds...I know the measurements can be off some some so just figuring that is part of the deal.

Baby wasn't very cooperative for the ultrasound tech so we didn't get any cute baby face pictures (and they could barely get all their measurements) because she is breech (frank most of the time), and facing in towards my back.

  • I know I am very late to this party..I hope that's ok! I haven't been bump active this go round with other things between work, husband, and an almost 4 year old!

    How far along are you?
    32+2

Why are you high-risk?  History of suspected placental abruption, BMI

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
    None this week

    Any concerns/news currently?
CSection is scheduled for 9/17. Super concerned this go round though. With my first pregnancy, the c-section was a surprise and an emergency so I had no time to think or worry. This go round, it's scheduled and I am super worried. I had a easy time last time despite the suspected placental abruption, but this time I'm super worried about PE (blood clot to the lungs) or really any negative consequence from the section. I know it's bc I'm hormonal, and I have way too much time to think (and worry) about the section.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
Mainly calmed nerves and anxiety regarding my upcoming section, but the biggest thing is of course a safe delivery for me and baby boy!

GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
Thin crust with beef sausage, bell peppers, and onions!!!
  • @acdugas Welcome! Never too late in my opinion :)

  • @Rhubarb7216 Congrats on this huge milestone!! How are we all so close???

  • Thanks @Sugargirl1019 and @bridge-and-wall! It's a great way to kick-off our last weekend of freedom before my induction next Friday! So crazy that by next weekend I will have a baby!

  • How far along are you?

    34 weeks

    Why are you high-risk?
    Pre-e among other things

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Way too much of it. I feel like a lab rat with all the labs, shots, swabs, and whatnot.

    Any concerns/news currently?
I am currently hooked up to too many monitors in L&D. The pre-e has gotten worse. While my BP is decently stable provided I am lying down, the protein in the urine has gotten worse. So I am stuck at L&D until Monday so we can complete a steroid series for LO and re-evaluate potentially inducing on Monday.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
Just praying we make it to the 37 weeks before induction. Also pray for DH. He is freaking out a bit that LO might be here in the next 3 days instead of the 3 weeks he thought he had.

GTKY: If ordering a pizza, what style and toppings do you get?
Chicago style! I love all the toppings but pineapple and anchovies. A good meat lovers pizza Chicago style is my absolute fav!
  • @JNR6510 sending you good thoughts and hoping you can keep that baby in for 3 more weeks!
  • @JNR6510 Take care. Hope baby keeps cooking a little longer.

  • @JNR6510 Oh no! Cook baby cook!

My blood pressure made it up to 136/89 today.. I'm like oh man.. what if it goes higher. And my blood sugars...  overnight is like hell on earth. Insulin doesn't exist and I ended up in the 200s with ketones. Why. Why ketones when my basal rate should be fine. It took over 12 hours to get the numbers back down. I'm afraid of every tiny little carb....

  • @Sugargirl1019 I'm sorry about your blood sugars. Hopefully they will come back down under control soon for you! At least with the BP they don't usually get too concerned unless it hits close to 160 or above. FX that comes down for you too! Hopefully it was just a fluke spike due to worrying about blood sugars and ketones.

Last night BP was 146/79. Bp still running higher in the upper 130s consistently today, but not any higher.. I'm normally 105/60 ish. Swelling in my legs is 2+ pitting edema suddenly got worse yesterday.. since bp is holding, I'm waiting until my appt tomorrow morning. I'm at work at the hospital today so I can check my BP periodically. I have a feeling I'll be sent to l&d tomorrow for more checks.

  • @Sugargirl1019 Next week! That's exciting, happy everything seems stable right now :)

@Rhubarb7216 your inducing this week right?
  • @Rhubarb7216 woohoo! That's SO EXCITING your getting so close, I'm really happy for you that everything is coming together here at the end :)
  • @Sugargirl1019  I'm glad everything came back looking good!

    Update from this morning's appointment:

I am stuck in L&D yet again. They want to wait to induce for now and will reassess their decision tomorrow. I really don't want to be stuck here overnight again. I just want to go back home to watch GOT and Netflix with my puppies in my own bed. I'm seriously hoping that I am not stuck in hospital until delivery. I know they saw slight improvement in the protein in the urine with my 3 day stint in L&D over the weekend which is great. But I was really hoping to save my leave time for after LO arrives and not have to burn through 3 weeks just twiddling my thumbs in hospital.
  • @JNR6510 FX all continues to go well, and you get to watch GOT anyways!!
