Ran out of hot water during my shower. Don't know what sounds good for breakfast. DH got to sleep later than me. The cat kept us up all night as payback for us going on vacation. I'm back to work.
DH and I assembled DD's new trampoline yesterday (mostly me - DH is visuospatially challenged and gets assembly rage). I am SO SORE. I feel like I lifted weights at the gym for hours.
I'm so freaking hungry alllll the time. I'm only 14 weeks. Shouldn't this be a thing later on? Haha also I know this could be a symptom thread point but I'm pissed about this feeling so I wanted to complain
I work in an infectious disease lab and the "lab supervisor" (title means nothing) informed me today - after 2 years in this particular lab - that I am NOT to wear gloves when touching lab equipment unless I'm working in the bio safety hood... uhh, no. That's not right. Not even a little. Gloves are to be worn when touching any lab equipment. They should be replaced after handling virus so as not to spread it, but always worn.
To make it worse, this worker never wears gloves (huge violation) and doesn't wash her hands after handling virus but before touching other lab equipment. So I'm wearing gloves to protect me and my unborn child (we work with some nasty stuff including HCMV - big no, no when pg) from your lazy a. Ugh, I'm so angry.

@Eags Is there any way to do a quality/ safety report or incident on that? Talking to her obviously won't work since she thinks she knows everything. If she told that to you she's probably telling everyone, which if they listen to her it would make me want to wear a biohazard suit. Contamination everywhere.
ETA the more I think about it the more SUPER Fd up it is!!! especially if they all know you are pregnant. Like "Oh, we're not worried about the potential defects or fatality. We can't be bothered." F all them! Let the momma bear out and maul some ass!
@supercoolstephy I feel like Ive been always hungry for weeks (almost 17 now) but also I fill up a lot quicker.
My dog is on medicine that makes him super thirsty and hungry. I feel bad for him, he was watching me eat last night and was trembling because he wanted my food so bad. I pet his head and said "I know buddy, Mommy feels like this all day too"
@LemmyRN I already treat the upstairs lab like everything is contaminated. I also work in our other lab (shared with just one other coworker who is normal and believes in proper PPE). She was blown away that this person said that, but just kind of shrugged her shoulders and said they make up their own policies... wth? No, occupational health and safety makes the policies.
And yep, they've known I was pregnant since around 9w.
And unfortunately theres more back story here. I can't really make a report or it looks bad on me because I obviously I did it. And we just took a huge cut in grant money thanks to the new government budget... so the PI is having to fire one person and push one more into retirement, so right now is not the time to piss him off by making a report. The whole situation royally sucks.

I woke up feeling kinda crappy. I burnt my hand on my curling iron. I then basically gave up on curling my hair. I am officially always hungry now AND it is Monday. That is all.
To be a sly fox I'd send an email short and sweet to all offenders saying "It seems some may be confused or misled regarding PPE use. Attached is the OSHA policy PDF." Attach the policy. If miss knowitall wants to again say that's not how things are done tell her to reply to the email with the new policy.... which will never happen cause it would be evidence of her wrongdoing.
Maybe even have copies of the policy printed out and highlighted, along with information regarding TORCH infections and pregnancy.

I just had to dig through the fridge to find drugs and made a big deal how I was using a paper towel to do so. And it actually is extremely limiting when trying to dig through racks in a full, large fridge.

+ one for being in the "hungry all the time camp." For me its recently come on and just today I've done some WORK on snacks and at lunch. Thankfully I went to lunch with my other coworker who is also a J18 mom. No judgment between the two of us on the food front.
