How many weeks are you?? 8w3d Whats been going on for you over the past week (either pregnancy or nonpreganancy related)? Just visiting family and friends for a week and a half in our hometown. We attended a big party yesterday for a few birthdays and going away party, so we told that family about being KU.
GTKY: How many Canadian provinces/territories have you visited? 9
Whats been going on for you over the past week (either pregnancy or nonpreganancy related)?
Non-pregnancy: Super busy week + weekend with a lot of work stuff on then go and friends in town over the weekend.
Pregnancy related I started spotting saturday night. Not a large amount but was getting brownish spotting a couple times in the evening. Happened again last night and then again this AM. Called my doctors office this AM and they directed me to ER. In the ER waiting to see the doc right now....
GTKY: How many Canadian provinces/territories have you visited?
9. I've never been to Saskatchewan and haven't been to any of the territories. On my travel list to see them all!!
Whats been going on for you over the past week (either pregnancy or nonpreganancy related)?
Im switching from morning shifts to night shifts at work. We shall see how that goes. My husband is also switching jobs this week, we are excited becuase it will mean he's home every night but it also means less overtime options to make extra money.
Pregnancy related I basically live to sleep right now. Alllll the naps !
GTKY: How many Canadian provinces/territories have you visited? Wah wah. Only 4 which is kinda sad when you work for a airline I have to step up my game for sure.
@scotiagirl I hope that spotting stops and turns out to be nothing
Whats been going on for you over the past week (either pregnancy or nonpreganancy related)? Planning my daughters first birthday party. Lots of napping when she naps. Lots of analyzing my symptoms or lack of symptoms. Spent time at the family cabin. Ultrasound is 11 days away and I'm counting down the days/hours/minutes.
GTKY: How many Canadian provinces/territories have you visited? Hmmm. BC, Alberta, Manitoba. 3. I suck. I go to the States and Europe more then I travel around Canada.
@KLmyz my beta came back good and the doc thought all is good right now. They are sending me for an early U/S just to check everything which they said I'll get a call about sometime this week. But right now all is good so going with that
How many weeks? 7 weeks 1 day What's going on for you? We are moving so it's been all packing all the time It's bittersweet, I'm excited to move but this is the home my DD grew up in, and has been a special place ... we are moving to a totally different suburb of Vancouver, so it's going to be a big adjustment ... excited about more space and finally a place we can call our own GTKY: I've been lucky, been to all provinces except Newfoundland, but no territories as of yet
7wk5d today.... I believe we have the same due date @KLmyz
non pregnancy wise there is not a ton going on...just trying to get through the work days and we are avoiding everybody because I am not ready to share the big news yet and not only am I a terrible liar....I look awful and it would take anyone that knows me all of 5mins to figure it out.
pregnancy wise - I think it comes as no suprise based on my posts that I've been pretty damn miserable. staying positive has been incredibly hard and as terrible as it is to admit it - I find myself wishing we could just go back to normal. This pregnancy was very much planned and wanted....I don't know if it's the hormones or what...I just feel pretty low. I keep trying to remind myself that it will be worth it in the end...but the end is so far off that I don't find that overly reassuring.
I've only visited 3 provinces - Ontario, Quebec and BC. We had a roadtrip planned 2 weeks ago to do the maritimes but I was so sick I decided to cancel it
Whats been going on for you over the past week (either pregnancy or nonpreganancy related)? We went to the lake this weekend which was sooooo nice. We are also potty training DS and he only had 1 accident all weekend! Woohoo!
GTKY: How many Canadian provinces/territories have you visited? Hmmm I don't think I've been to any of the territories. I've been to all the provinces except for Newfoundland. Love both the coasts but am particularly fond of Nova Scotia and PEI. Fun fact: My DH and I went to PEI a few years ago. And after a while he said "Okay. I gotta ask. Who is this Anne girl?" Apparently he'd never heard of Anne of Green Gables!!!!!
@scotiagirl, glad your betas came back good! Hope you don't have to wait long for the US and you get some good news!!
@bb3vj3n, not trying to be negative. But there is such a thing as prenatal depression. It's often overlooked and post partum depression gets all the attention. I experienced this during my second pregnancy and a friend of mine had it for both of hers. It might be worth discussing with your doctor. Or even making a point of finding some things that can help your mood. I found getting exercise (even just going for a walk) cleared my head and helped reduce my anxiety/depression. I know first trimester is so taxing on us. Especially when we are experiencing morning sickness. Just keep remembering why you're going through this! Hugs!
@bb3vj3n I'm thinking of you. I think @justkeeptrying brings up some important points too - definitely reach out to your doctor if you find this continues. I've definitely been a bit overwhelmed lately with thoughts about if I can really do this all again. Pregnancy (at least for of me) certainly seems to increase vulnerability and I definitely have moments of overwhelm from that.
And thank you @justkeeptrying. The ultrasound dept at the hospital here is always backed up so it will be interesting to see how long it takes. I don't know what priority my referral was sent in as (ER doc seemed quite relaxed once my Beta came back good) so we will see how long I wait!
thank you. I have my first doctors appointment today and I plan on telling him how I've been feeling. I honestly think it stems down to how awful I'm feeling... if i could get even a little relief from this nausea I think I could get over these characteristics of depression. I just want to lie down....always. I got home at 4 yesterday and went straight to bed and slept through until 8 this morning.
I was put on diclectin last week and it has made it possible for me to atleast get through a work day- but outside of keeping my job I have zero motivation to do anything else. I even bought new cheap clothes this week to wear because I didn't have the energy to do laundry.
I just want this part of pregnancy to be over with. it hasn't at all been what I was expecting. I find myself doubting that if I can't even get through this part... how the heck am I going to parent a real child?
Whats been going on for you over the past week (either pregnancy or nonpreganancy related)? Last week we had our first ultrasound and it went well! Everything looked good but we didn't get much information. I have another appointment next Friday so I'm hoping my doctor will give more detail about the results. Non-pregnancy related not a whole lot going on, this weekend we're having my family over to celebrate my Mom and Grandmothers birthdays which I'm really looking forward to!
GTKY: How many Canadian provinces/territories have you visited? When I was 5 my parents took us on a driving trip across Canada, started in Ontario and ended in Victoria. I don't remember much from that trip so I'm not sure that counts. I have only been Alberta and BC as an adult which is actually pretty sad now that I think about it (and we're going to both provinces next week to visit my family). I would love to go to Montreal so hopefully we can make that happen in the relatively near future!
@bb3vj3n Glad to hear you can see your doc today, and hopefully they can help you to feel better in whichever way possible. And it's ok to feel how you feel, this isn't easy.
WGO? Work, work and more work, but really looking forward to
the long weekend. We plan on telling the
kids and our neighbours on Saturday. It
will be nice to have some other commiserating with my crazy fatigue and nausea.
Travel: 7 provinces (missing all but one of the Maritimes
and all of the Territories)
@scotiagirl Good to
hear your betas are going up. I hope you
get good news at your ultrasound.
@mountain_girl We
moved while I was pregnant with our first.
It was… unpleasant. 5 years
later, we still haven’t fully unpacked.
I wish you better.
@bb3vj3n I am so
sorry that you are feeling that way. There
is so much going on with your hormones that they very well may be playing a
part. Please speak to your doctor. There are people to talk to and medications
that are safe in pregnancy to help you feel better. Feeling sick or sad during pregnancy does not
reflect how you will parent. It is an experience
all it’s own. I’ve felt like crap in all
of my pregnancies, but parenthood is so worth it. Take it day by day for now. Most feel better as the 1st
trimester passes.
PgAL (MC@7w 29/10/11 - lost you before we knew we had you)
@bb3vj3n I'm glad to hear you'll have the chance to talk to your doctor. First trimester can be really really rough - and how it goes for you is by no means any indication as to how you may handle parenting. You're doing awesome to have the energy to get through your work day and it is totally OK to be exhausted after that! Do you have support around that can help with things like laundry? It is totally ok to pull in support. You're growing a human and that is a huge task on its own!! Continue to post and share if you find that helpful too. Thinking of you!
@lifeisbetteronthered your comment made me lol...unpleasant...that's a solid word to describe it. We are not at all done packing, but I work full time and by the time I'm home, fed my DD dinner, bedtime, it's 800 pm, and packing is the very last thing I want to do while 7 weeks pregnant, nauseaous and exhausted @scotiagirl how did the U/S go?
@mountain_girl I got a call today that it's scheduled for aug 11th. So I have to wait another week. I love that we have public health care but waiting in the queue is definitely the downside!
I posted and ghosted sorry , worked a few night shifts and I dunno needed a bump break my DH has been home all week so I've been spending the days with him

not much going on, just trying to survive daily life with a toddler while feeling like crap.
I grew up in NS, visited PEI, NB, QC, and lived in BC and ON.
