I have worked in child welfare for almost 12 years. I currently supervise our foster care program. It's stressful and rewarding and crazy and sad, but I definitely feel like it is my calling.
I am a research professor at a large university. I used to work within community mental health as a clinician/administrator and now I help other agencies create or start new programs, and research if they work.
I am an administrative assistant at a college. I have been full time continuing for a little over a year and before that worked term positions at the college.
I am a teacher. This year starts my 7th year teaching, but I subbed for a year and a half after I graduated. I've taught pre-k, Kindergarten, 4th, and 1st. 1st is my favorite. It's stressful and takes a lot of time outside of school, but I couldn't imagine doing anything else!
I'm currently a letter carrier (mailman) for the United States Postal Service. I've been doing this since January and I'm 99% sure I won't be going back after baby comes. It's a mandatory 6 day a week job including every Sunday and holiday and it's just too much for me with young kids.
I'm an elementary teacher entering my 13th year. I have 5 certifications and may add another 2 before deciding if I want to go into administration. I already applied twice and couldn't quite follow through. I want to finish paying off my undergrad and grad school loans before taking on more debt.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I've been a prevention educator for a domestic violence and sexual assault victim services agency for 3 years. My position allows me to work closely with 6th - 12th graders teaching them about healthy relationships and the signs of abuse. Next May I will graduate with my Masters of Social Work and move into a therapist position at my job. In my spare time, I've been working as certified life coach, empowerment speaker, and author since 2013.
@missrekaeagle I am hopefully going to be starting my masters in social work next fall. right now I'm a case manager in community mental health working with adults.
My qualifications are in fashion and textile design specialised in bridal formal and corsetry
I've worked full time as a photographic and art model since I was 19 . And as a burlesque performer and exotic dancer for 4 years .
I have a sustainable slow fashion and lifestyle label with my husband that I work on out of home when I'm not booked And create couture formal and dance outfits by commission
I also teach flexibility and pole dancing at the studio I go to
In general I also have custom projects that include my arts which I get commissioned for . Like cards paintings cakes ..
I work for a prescription benefits company, doing analysis stuff that would put you to sleep if I described it, but in a nutshell dealing with a bunch of data and working with my clients, which are large health plans. ETA: I have been at this company for 14 years.
I'm an RN on a critical care unit. This is my second career and I've been on my unit for a little over a year and a half. Some days are easier than other both physically and emotionally but I do like it. I will go back after baby but unsure at which capacity, I won't be able to work the 13 hour shifts anymore. Biggest reason to go back there is because my retirement fund isn't vested yet and I carry the health insurance. Our unit seems to have a high burnout rate.
I'm a licensed chemical dependency counselor. I've worked at a community based correctional facility for 10 years. I do quality assurance for our treatment program and oversee the people who do QA for our security and medical sides.
I'm the human resources at my company. I worked a long time with dealing and handle confrontation. At college I was a community advisor which is the same thing as an RA. I just feel in love with helping people and spread sheets.
I am a teacher, looking like I will sub again. My favorite position, and what I have my masters in, is librarian, but positions here are scarce and super competitive. So I have been subbing and doing interim positions and looking in libraries as well. I also work as a behavior analyst on a very part time basis-- I am a BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst). My ideal job would combine these things someday, maybe working in talking books, school library, academic library doing some research on disabilities, etc.
I've been a SAHM since our son was born June 2015. I used to be an Executive Assistant. I am hoping once these babies are a bit older, I'll finish some online courses and when they are in school, I'll go back to work as a Medical Transcriptionist. I started the school while on Mat leave with our son but life got crazy hectic and I didn't start any new classes up.

I'm also in HR. I'm hoping some of my conflict resolution skills will come in handy raising children.
I've been a physician assistant for the last 6 years. I do mostly hand and reconstructive plastic surgery with some trauma orthopedics mixed in there. I love my career but it will be interesting to balance trauma life with a baby once I go back. Hard to pump during surgery....

I work as a medical biller/coder. I just started a new job that is not at all what I expected so I'm on the hunt for another job. I've had a few phone interviews last week. Keeping my fingers crossed they want to speak with me in person.
I am currently working at an adult day program for adults with intellectual disabilities. Ours is very high functioning and we have people from 18-80s in our group. I've been in my field for 4.5/5 years now working at different places with different age groups. I've done at-risk, special education and daycares before deciding to try adults out. I can honestly say I loved doing each one for different reasons
