After my bleeding and ER visit on Saturday, I continued bleeding on Sunday and then passed some sort of tissue. After that, my cramping and bleeding slowed down. Spoke to the doc on call and she said I needed to go in for an ultrasound ASAP.
I was able to get in this morning. Everything still looked good on the ultrasound, thank God. The doctor saw a fetal pole, gestational sac and flickering heartbeat. She said it was too early to evaluate much else. I am waiting to get my results back from my bloodwork to see if my numbers are increasing. Other than that, I go back in a week for another ultrasound to check progress.
@GeekBeagle That happened to me when I was pregnant with my 2nd. I had unexplained bleeding for a week. Ultrasound showed a very high cervix and baby was fine. At the end of the week I passed a tissue like skin and the bleeding stopped. Even though my first ultrasound showed only one, doctor said it could have been possible it started as two and my body was passing it through.
I have my first prenatal appointment tomorrow! The lady who made the appointment said I will be getting an ultrasound so I'm excited! Wish I didn't have to go alone since DH will be working, but still excited
@GeekBeagle I'm happy you had a good ultrasound! I'm sure that was very scary!
I have my first ultrasound on Wednesday. I will only be 7 weeks but should be able to still see/hear the heartbeat. I'm equal parts scared and excited. I used to think 7/26 was so soon but it's taken forever to get here!
@megpeg@mamaejb I hope you both get great results back with your bloodwork!
@ladybugsamom@babybluu fx for great appointments this week! I'm right there with you. all the good vibes/thoughts coming your way.

I just got the numbers back through an automated release process. My HCG has decreased. I'm certainly no expert, but I don't think this is very promising.
@GeekBeagle have you been able to talk to the doctor yet? How stressful!
I got blood work #'s back today that I am stressing about a bit. My HCG #'s are doubling but my progesterone went from 29 to 17. While I know 17 is still a good #, I am concerned about the drop. I insisted on being retested tomorrow morning. I am 5w5d and had a placement ultrasound and saw the gestational sac. Go back next Monday for heartbeat. Anyone have similar experiences with progesterone?
Probably will have a repeat ultrasound this week (had one Friday). Saw a sac then hoping for a nugget/fetal pole? We'll see...and hoping for the SCH to resolve.
@GeekBeagle, think positive thoughts...keep the scariest at bay! This pregnancy thing I'm finding is an emotional roller coaster!

@geekbeagle, I'm sending you many positive vibes--keep that mind as distracted as you can so you can keep your body relaxed for baby. Praying for good news soon!
I had blood draws Wednesday and Friday so I'm waiting to hear about my HCG levels. I called but my OB isn't there today and her nurse wouldn't give me the numbers without the OB reviewing it first. She just said the HCG rose. So now I wait some more. I'm impatient.
Weekly blood draws after this. I wish they had an online thing where I could look up the number.
I've been awaiting my first appointment, and feeling fairly patient until now, but it's still a week from today. I have a dating u/s next Monday afternoon, and I think I'll be about 8w6d at that point. This will be the latest dating u/s I've had, but I know it's going to be in a good window for accuracy. Both of my kids were born on day 39w0d, so maybe their dates were off due to how early their dating u/s were? Either way, I'm just ready to see a heartbeat. Anything. I think we're going to send the kids to be with someone during the appointment, because I guess I don't want DD to be confused if something doesn't happen right at the u/s, and then we'll be better prepared to share the news (or not) with them afterward. Is it next week yet?!
@geekbeagle, were the tests run at the same lab? maybe it was a fluke. It is really promising that you saw baby and heartbeat today. FX you get great news.
@geekbeagle I'm agreeing with @hullabalou - seeing the baby and heartbeat sounds promising to me. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the decrease is just a fluke.

@hullabalou Not the same lab, but it's the same health system, so I would assume that they're run similarly. The doc today told me they like to see numbers increase at least 53%, so even if the numbers aren't exact, it's way off from what it should be.
Doctor just called. She said a miscarriage is pretty certain to happen, but I don't have to do anything right now and can just keep my appointment for next week and see what happens.
First appt is Thursday afternoon! By my math I'll be 8w+6d, but not clinging too much to that. Really praying that everything is in the right place and that we get to hear a healthy heartbeat! Sort of getting nervous, but leaning on the Lord.
Had my first appointment. It went well. Even though I waited a little longer to be seen this baby he/she still measured a couple days behind. It's still within normal variations and the hb was good, nothing looked abnormal, but dang it they moved my due date back again. This isn't really an issue unless you swell like a beast like me and you are ready for your cerclage to be removed. I am more than ever convinced this is a boy now. ALL my boys measure behind on their first sono even though hcg doubling time is fast and progesterone is high. It just must be how they develop. My daughter was the only one to measure appropriately at her first sono. In a week or so this baby should be caught up like the others did. I am very happy everything looks good and I hope the small SCH they found doesn't cause issues. I see my perinatologist next week, so hopefully he can confirm it is not an issue.
So sorry @GeekBeagle it's so hard having to wait to find out answers.
TW I called the midwife on call and went in because of bleeding today--it's been off and on for a week and is getting worse. They took the first HCG measurement and next on is Wednesday, so just waiting. My first real appt isn't until next Monday.
