A little but we have been super busy for me the first half of the year is always jammed with events and projects so most weekends are pretty booked until august . I always feel like the year is zooming past by this point But this year in particular since we also just bought our first house and any spare time was used up with that. And the baby just kind of hopped on top of all the busy . Starting to panic now with only 15 weeks to go and house settles 2/8 we have to not only paint and furnish a nursary to expect our first baby along with all the other notions they come with but we have to furninsh a whole house as we only own a bedroom set a fridge and industrial sewing machines
We are moving 2 hours away which complicates the birth a little since we are staying with the midwives and hospital we are with so also need to work something out there ...
I can't decide if it's going fast or slow lol. I keep trying to tell myself to slow down and enjoy this pregnancy since it will be my last, but with 2 kids already and feeling so out of my element, I'm just ready to speed this thing up so I can feel like myself again and get my energy back.
Definitely feels like it's taking forever, but I'm so uncomfortable and want to be done I think that's why hahaha. But then I think that way back in march is when I found out. That seems like it went by fast looking back!!
I agree with it zooming by, but that may be because I already have a toddler so it is difficult/near impossible to slow down to enjoy this pregnancy the way I really would like to. I also have just been more active in general this pregnancy which I think has contributed to it flying by.
Time went by so fast up until 20 weeks now I feel like it
has slowed down. But when I think how
baby will be here in 16 weeks I get a little freaked out because of everything
that still needs to be done.
It's going by so fast but that's because I never have time to stop. Between working 6 days a week, going to the doctor once a week, having a 3 year old and working on a new house while still living in the old house it's a lot! Too much actually.
Anxiety has definitely set in. It seems like a lot of time left and not a lot of time left at the same time!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
And yes, this pregnancy feels like it's going by much faster than my first! This summer has been really busy for us so I'm hoping once things slow down in the next few weeks I'll get a chance to get everything in order for the new baby!
This is kind of weird but I feel like it's taking a long time because November really seems like winter to me and it's so summery out that winter seems really far away.
@cmarie28 it was more snarky than rude. And yes, if I must be honest. You all feel free talking to someone who has never introduced themselves to you before 25 weeks. This BMB is very timid as was my response to her, I didn't feel like taking the time to write the whole "welcome, please introduce yourself..." yadda yadda that everyone else does.
Yes, it is FLYING. I ordered nursery bedding back in May and was going to use its arrival to make decorating decisions for the rest of the nursery, and it has been on back order forever now...so I have no nursery and I am freaking out. Also I need my downstairs completed before he arrives and the contractor has not given me a firm date. I am definitely freaking out all of a sudden, as the third tri is looming.
@MaximumEffort just an FYI I have introduced myself and have been around here and there. This is different sn than last pregnancy. I am not new the BMB.
It's going by very fast. I think it's because it's summer and in the Midwest, you have to pack as much activity in the summer before the winter comes (cue GOT meme). So I've just been so busy that I haven't had time to do my usual obsessing, which is probably why it's going faster.
@snackcakes1417 I didn't call you out, I responded to OP, and that was that screen names first ever post on the BMB, the one who didn't like my comment never introduced herself either and has been MIA for 3 months. Not going to apologize.
Definitely flying by! I have 16.5 weeks to go and nothing is done! Crib and dresser are still in boxes. DH works EVERYDAY so he's not around to do it on weekends and I feel like it needs to get done. Baby shower is next month and I want the nursery set up so we can add to it when we get our stuff from there. I'm beginning to panic but I can't do the stuff alone and we don't have family or friends nearby
@kaitlinliz If he gets the boxes out for you could you sart putting things together ?
We are 25 weeks and still waiting to get the keys for our house . We haven't even bought furnature . And will want to paint the baby room too we actually haven't got anything just a few clothes . Need to order furnature, nappies , car seat , pram all of it .
@kaitlinliz@cwalker042 if it makes you ladies feel any better, I've done nothing to prepare for the baby yet. At least you're more prepared than me!
The only prep I've done is buy some NB and 0-3 months clothes, a package of size 1 diapers and new bottles. I had bottles from DS but I wanted to try the Como Tomo bottles, plus they are pink! We need to get her dresser soon.
@cwalker042 that's actually not too bad! I keep telling myself that I will start to prepare once I get my oldest back in school, but the truth is that I'm just a procrastinator lol
On the flip side, I have done almost everything. Nursery done, classes scheduled, even found a pediatrician. However, everyone warned me not to do that because the time you need the distraction is when you are big and later along, when time really just slows down. So you ladies are probably doing it right. Now I have nothing to do but twiddle my thumbs for 3 months!
I haven't done much and I'm not stressed out it. I'm a bit "roll with the punches" or it'll figure itself out. I have a bassinet, swing, bouncy, and shelving unit all second hand. I have enough sleep n plays to last a bit(10 or so). It's all in the basement--I haven't started washing anything. I figure I'll do that in nov.
@cwalker042@littlemissc17@foxaírt the dresser is put together in the box but the crib has to physically put together and I can't do that myself. We have clothes in our storage unit that need to be pulled out, but idk where they are since he was the only one there when movers were putting stuff in there and it's jam packed. He has to get our washer and dryer out of storage as well and set up, I can't do that for obvious reasons, so I'm literally just twiddling my thumbs until he realizes we don't have time to bs..he really thinks we have all the time in the world and isn't worried. Before knowing my invites were sent out to guests for the shower, he asked why couldn't I push the date back, why did it have to be when I wanted it....really? He's so clueless when it comes to pregnancy and how I'm physically feeling let alone emotionally, and if I try to tell him he thinks I'm exaggerating. I think he's just overwhelmed with work and doesn't kno how to handle everything.
I have a ton to do, but the times I have available to do them (the boys' nap times) are the only times I get to sit down, so I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I was hoping to do by now.
Ah fair enough. I'm usually the one who puts furnature together. Often because if we have had something delivered it comes while he's at work so I just do it . .. also I'm faster at it ha ha Bummer about storage . Obviously heavy lifting is off the table and so shifting boxes around looking for the right one is not an option. Maybe he just thinks it won't take that long ..
