So annoyed with my father. We did our FB and Instagram announcement yesterday afternoon. Well at 330 am this morning he decided it would be a great time to can a convo on the feed, so my phone was blowing up. He woke me and DH up and he lives in the same state. Why are you awake and why is my announcement an appropriate place for your FB convo?!?!
@burnsmommy27 OMG why was he up at 3:30 AM?!?! I silence everything at night. I just can't have the threat of something waking me up. Obviously when LOs are allowed to have overnights etc, I'll have to change my "everything silent always" policy.
My MBF is to this crazy lady from Cincinnati, where I live. Read if you want to see insanity! Pretended she was pregnant, had a sex reveal party, there was a massive shooting, one person died, she "lost her baby," kids shot, etc. Well, ends up she wasn't pregnant! Also she was involved in some other (I'm sure fake) robbery years ago where her hair was cut etc. She must seriously have issues, but those poor kids!
We have these tiny black bugs here called thunder bugs. They are the most annoying little creatures on the planet. They have covered every door and window of my house and are all over the walls of any room whose windows I left open past noon today. Ugh. I want to go outside because it's nice out, but as soon as we step foot outsdoors we are covered in the stupid things from head to toe. At least they don't bite...
@EmilyLove25 I'm not sure why he was up, I almost commented go the F to sleep but then realized I'm a grown up I do turn everything off but for whatever reason FB will still make my phone vibrate, idk why.
That is crazy. I feel bad for her, what kind of mental situation do you have going on to fake your pregnancy to such lengths.
@Cricket99 I don't hate hate bugs but that sounds really gross
@burnsmommy27 WTF. Why was he awake at 3am in the first place??
I just got out our P&P for the first time since this winter and the thing is all covered in mold. We live in a basement apartment so this is an issue in the summer, but we just got this P&P last year when DD was born and now we have to replace it. So glad we're moving this winter!!
I am hating my pregnancy body right now because I just feel fat. I have a little bit of a belly started, but honestly, it looks like I've just "gained weight." This is compounded by the fact that my thighs are so much bigger than pre-pregnancy (already!) and I feel so uncomfortable.
My MBF is about work. There are 3 of us in the office. The owner, his wife, and myself. Well shit has MAJORLY been hitting the fan for them in the last 10 days and I'm sympathetic, obviously, but I hate the added stress so much! I really like my laid-back atmosphere and want it back. Also, I need to ask to leave early on Wednesday and I almost want to just forget it because I don't want to add to the stressful environment any more than my vacation next week and my impending maternity leave already are.
So I got to work today to find an email from employee health saying I was exposed to Meningitis last Tuesday while I was helping out in the ED. Called employee health and they said I need to talk to the OB since I'm pregnant. Waiting to hear back from the OB office now.
I'm so mad, I am so careful to check notes before I go into rooms but since this patient hadn't had any testing yet, was still in the ED, I didn't know. Ugh
@burnsmommy27 That's crazy! What was he thinking? You could delete the app and just use he browser if it happens again! I had to do that!
@EmilyLove25 That's freaky. Reminds me of this girl that moved to our school in 7th grade and faked having a twin sister with cancer. I used to talk to her on the phone and was devastated when she "died".
My MBF is directed at DH. He was away all weekend for duty and got back Sunday. He played video games most the night took a break to massage my hurt back for 5 minutes and was right back at it. I went to yell at him, only to find out all the people he was playing with could hear me. THEN stayed up til Lord knows when, so I got up to take DD to daycare. Just called him to see if he had looked at the grocery list and wanted to add anything and he was ASLEEP at 11:50!
MBF is dedicated to my DD mother. I want my step daughter who is 12 to be involved with the pregnancy and she really wants to go to the week 16 us becuase she wants to help woth the gender reveal to my 8yr old son and she refuses to work with any of us. Its not only hurting me emotionally but now DD is afraid her mom wont let her be involved at all with the baby or see it when its born. Like we are all adukts get over it. They have been divorced for 10 years and i ha e been engaged to my fiancé for 5. My ex husband is handling like an adult and lets our son be involved but becuase its not about her anf its not happe ing and it sucks.
@missblaze Hugs. I can totally relate. I have a clear bump
but still, I just look blah. Keep reminding yourself that 10-18 weeks are the
worst in that arena but then you transition into bump city!
@burnsmommy27 Ugh. So scary. I am sorry. Hope it is easy to
follow up on.
@Dani0329 Man, you have to wonder what weird cry for help
that was! PS Your DH sounds a lot like mine!
@mommaSG how childish! Why on earth would you not want your
child to be involved with the birth etc of their future sibling?
@EmilyLove25 Wow, it's insane that shooters walked in to the house and the victims misled the police, lying to the people who are trying to help you get justice. The woman was 21, she obviously needs to grow up and find something productive to do with her time.
@missblaze it's natural to feel "chunky" at this point, because what comes next is the unmistakable pregnancy belly, we just gotta get through the filling out part first. There is no reason to resent it or let it attack self confidence, we going through a journey full of massive body changes, just gotta learn to embrace it and go with the flow. Perhaps meditating on the beautiful life within and your powerful body nourishing it will help release any tension, apprehension, or negativity. I know it's hard sometimes to determine tone through writing, but I assure you it's 100% supportive and genuine
@LemmyRN Thanks I am usually very body positive! Just feeling yucky today. No matter how healthy I eat, I tend to gain a lot of weight during pregnancy and it's just frustrating sometimes.
@Dani0329 sounds like he needs a kick in the ass! Ultimately he was gone all weekend and even when he was home he was still checked out being so absorbed with video games.
To be snarky I'd make dinner tonight for you and DD and when he whines "where's my food" be all like "Oh you're here? I COULDN'T TELL!"
@EmilyLove25 she has always been like that. She has an 18 yr old who she lost custody of the my fiancé helped raise she still calls him fad and comes over but refuses to let DD over to see her becuase the older one wants nothing to do with their mom. She is already trying to tell DD that we are trying to replace her. Little does she know we have all been very open about expanding our famiky with both kods for 3 years to make sure each child was okay with it
We had a picnic yesterday and this woman flipped her shit when I said offhand that we'd looked it up and I probably ought not eat her homemade goat cheese. She went on and on: why, why? Her cheese is TOTALLY RAW AND NOT HEATED TO CAUSE DAMAGE. Her goat's milk has PERSONALLY SAVED THE LIVES OF FIVE BABIES THAT DOCTORS COULDN'T HELP. Her daughter (18) is totally fine.
Like, lady. I was being a little tongue-in-cheek, and had planned to try some. I totally didn't after that interaction, which has continued to leave a bad taste in my mouth. You'd think I slapped her mother, good god.
@auntieraindrop She said you SHOULD get an episiotomy??? Who does that? Why would that be something that you would choose to do ahead of time? (beside the fact that it's totally not her business)
@auntieraindrop when my MIL was having babies they automatically gave you an enema, shaved you and gave an episiotomy. Maybe that's just what she is used to from her experience
Nope! She told me it's a great thing they do so you don't get a tear. I think her info is like 35 years out of date. She's also being really pushy about crib bumpers. And yeah, it's a bit weird for her to start thinking about the state of my bits. Leave my bits alone!
@BelhurstBride my son is 8 and they had no problem letting him in Last week. I just dont want him to be the only child to experience this time with me when my step daughter and i have such a strong bond. I want her to bond with the baby like my son did. They even kept the heart beat up a little bit just so he could keep listening
@auntieraindrop when my MIL was having babies they automatically gave you an enema, shaved you and gave an episiotomy. Maybe that's just what she is used to from her experience
Edited: tagged wrong
Yep my mom said this was the norm for her too!! Thank goodness things have changed since!
My MBF is that people need to stop using the word "emergency" when it's really not an emergency. Long story and work related... I hope the rest of the work week is a bit more chill but I doubt that will happen.
@LemmyRN I like your style. Not a bad idea. Of course I said something along the lines of: Really you're back in here gaming, when we could be hanging out, talking or ya know.
Went to the dentist for a regular routine cleaning today. Mentioned to him that one of my wisdom teeth had really been bothering me, so he checked it out and it was impacted and needed to come out immediately. So I am now minus a wisdom tooth. No worries as I checked with OB and they said it was fine as long as it was under local anesthesia and I'm in my second trimester. But my MBF is that you can't take freaking anything good for pain! So extra strength Tylenol it is...which does absolutely nothing.
@auntieraindrop as someone who had an episiotomy and tearing, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. That spot felt weird for awhile and sex was painful because I felt the stitches where I got cut. Not fun.
Mine goes to a drama queen client who threatened to kill herself after I told her she had a type of insurance we didn't accept (nonprofit mental health clinic, never a dull moment). She stormed out of my office and I attempted to walk after her to talk to her but she left the building. Since she threatened suicide I had to call the police to request a welfare check at her residence to verify her safety. I'm sure that pissed her off even more but I have to take it seriously.
My bitch today is to DH. He snores horribly! It wakes me up most nights, and I can't go back to sleep. Ear plugs don't even help. He finally bought a zyppah (the thing they advertise on ESPN Radio about all the time). He's had it for over a month and hasn't used it at all. Why in the HELL did he buy it, if he's just going to keep me up snoring all night?!?!
@sbishop426 I work in mental health too and I hate when my patients pull stuff like that. People used to say stuff like that when they were mad when I worked at a psych hospital and my response would be "Well, you just earned yourself a 3 day stay here at the hospital!" Just know you did the right thing, even if the patient can't appreciate it
@vjraab OMG my DH snores horribly too. If your DH ever gets around to trying that contraption, please let me know if it works! I usually end up sleeping with DD it's so bad.
I'm late- it's no longer Monday! But I need to vent. Met with the high-risk docs on Friday (AMA, hx of LEEP and hx of preterm at 34 weeks [but 2nd DS was born full term!]) and she seems to be pushing me towards taking the Makena progesterone shot. My confusion stems from the fact that my friend (almost identical history except her 1st was born at 28 weeks) who sees the same doctors, was NEVER recommended the shot (and she delivered her 2nd full term a few months ago). Sooooo why is this doctor (who hasn't even examined or measured MY cervix) pushing me into progesterone shots?
On the one hand, I know it's better to be safe than sorry, but there's no way to know yet if I will even have any issues with my cervix, yet I'm supposed to decide before my visit next week . I'm healthy and active, and my OB told me that my cervix length was great at last visit.... and these shots are very expensive and also have risks, like anything. Just kinda hoping to get some input.
@ReadytoRun77 My original OB, MFM and new midwife have already brought up the progesterone injections with me -- and DD was born at 36:6 (1 DAY PREMATURE). I think it's standard to bring it up. I was told it's optional but "highly encouraged." I'm not doing them.
MBF on a Tuesday! back in 2004 I was involved in an accident while in college - I had major back pain for about 5-6 months and the doctors told me if I lost weight, it would go away. so when I graduated a few years later I made it a point to lose 30+ lbs... well go back to March of this year when I stopped running (per doctors recommendations) and started fertility treatments (+20 lbs) and add in the initial weight of pregnancy (+5-7lbs) and now I am having extreme sciatic nerve pain... exactly like what I had back in 2004... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I'm 15w5d so I'm concerned about how this is going to continue
@Mudge85 I'm so sorry, I feel your pain. I was in a pretty bad accident in 2011 and I still have nerve damage and pain in my shoulder. I would highly recommend an osteopath if you can find one! If not, I had really bad sciatic nerve pain during my last pregnancy because my son had his head stuck in my pelvis the entire time, and sitting on a yoga ball helped sooooo much. I gave up real chairs and couches for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. It was ridiculous.

He is always the most inconsiderate person.
