Friday I see my midwife and I have a quick ultrasound at the hospital to check things out.

Any new symptoms or changes?

Still have a lingering cough from my chest cold but I think we're all over the worst.  BH contractions have actually lightened up so I hope things get going again in the next couple of weeks.

Rants/Raves/Questions?

Babysitter tonight!  Going to IHOP to eat all of the pancakes.  ALL OF THEM.

GTKY: Now that we have reached or are reaching the end of pregnancy, what will you (or do you) miss the most about being pregnant?

I will really miss our current routine.  It took a long time to get here and I really enjoy having time with DH in the evenings after DD goes to bed.  I know we will get it back eventually but I'm not looking forward to constant nursing and nighttime wake-ups for months.  All worth it though!

How big is baby? 7 lbs. as of yesterday - down 7.5 from birth

Rants/Raves/Questions?  Got on the scale today, and have already made it back down to pre-pregnancy weight, which is by no means my goal weight, but it's a great start.  Now, to not go crazy with the BFing hunger...

Upcoming appointments this week?  Weekly OB check on Thursday.

Any new symptoms or changes? I think I had my first real contraction.  My entire uterus tightened up and it really hurt.  But it was only one, lasted about 30 seconds, and went away.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  It's SO hot.  I can't take it anymore.

GTKY: Now that we have reached or are reaching the end of pregnancy, what will you (or do you) miss the most about being pregnant?

I will miss the freedom of being DINK.  DH and I got married last May, and due to our age, we started trying to have a baby almost right away.  I am really excited for the baby to get here, but part of me wishes we got to enjoy the (relatively) carefree life as a married couple with no kids for a while longer.

Tuesday at 5:00 am for my scheduled repeat c-section!! 

Any new symptoms or changes?

Nothing new, just a LOT of pressure down there. Insomnia is out of control. 

Rants/Raves/Questions?

Raves: 

- Mom flew in from Hawaii this morning, it's all starting to feel real now! 

- DD picked out a little plush for her baby sister, wrapped it, and wrote a card for her  

- we picked up a few things from the Disney store friends and family sale as a present to her from the baby  

Rants: 

- the back unit we've been working on is late finishing up - so close to done but not there yet which means we'll have my mom and my brother all staying with us in our little 2bd/1ba home until it is ready. 

- my body. It hurts. All of it. 

- I am down to two names but feel a little bad that everyone on DH's side hate my front runner name so much. Thinking I need more names but nothing else pops out to me. 

GTKY: Now that we have reached or are reaching the end of pregnancy, what will you (or do you) miss the most about being pregnant?

I won't miss much from actually being pregnant, although I am so grateful and happy this pregnancy was so laid back and pleasant cs the last - I will absolutely miss being a family of 3. We have such a fun dynamic with DD1 and she is just SO MUCH FUN.

Upcoming appointments this week? Tuesday is my last appointment / pre op bloodwork. Thursday is my c/s hopefully

Any new symptoms or changes? Late pregnancy anxiety is in full swing- I'm on edge and snippy, and worried about everything.

Rants/Raves/Questions? DD2 is sick with a high fever since Friday. I'm freaking out DD1 or myself will catch it and that they won't be able to come visit me ... or that I'll pass it to the new babe.

GTKY: Now that we have reached or are reaching the end of pregnancy, what will you (or do you) miss the most about being pregnant? I think about this a lot since it's my last, but this pregnancy was so scary and stressful I think I'm fine being done. I'll miss the kicks and wiggles, and I'll miss the cute bump though.

GTKY:  I'm gonna miss sleep, not that I was sleeping through the night at the end of my pregnancy but I could still sleep (or at least try to) whenever I wanted and naps came easily

How big is baby? 7lbs9oz at last week's appt, up 1oz from birthweight 

Upcoming appointments this week? nope 

Any new symptoms or changes? The bleeding is down to a manageable level. I love not peeing all the time. But the postpartum hormones are really freaking tough, and my migraines are back, booooo.

Rants/Raves/Questions? nighttime sleep eludes this baby!

GTKY: I miss alone time with DH so much. I'm really looking forward to when this LO starts sleeping thru the night and we can have our evenings together again.

How big is baby? 

Little piglet is up 2 lbs from birth weight. We had to introduce a pacifier to ease off all the nursing.

Upcoming appointments this week?

My midwife is still making home visits to us, which has been incredibly wonderful. She comes today, and it's like visiting with a good friend.

I have a 2 year old who still doesn't sleep through the night, and never did. The universe is kindly repaying me with an easy baby and easy post-partum recovery this time. There are no words for the depth of my gratitude. 

To all of you ladies struggling: I've been there. Feeling very down emotionally, in physical pain, marriage in shambles, feeling like your sweet baby was maybe a mistake. Hang on tight - it gets better. So much better! It is ok to hate the newborn stage. You are still a good mom and good person, if you do.

Nothing! I was so anxious about becoming a family of four, and it's surpassed my wildest hopes. I am not taking this for granted, and am so so grateful and relieved.

Any new symptoms or changes? A decent amount of what I'm assuming are Braxton Hicks and lots of pressure at times as well.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I had a ton of energy last week and cranked out nearly all of my remaining work projects. I guess that's my weird version of nesting  Definitely feeling more prepared with all of that being done.

GTKY: Now that we have reached or are reaching the end of pregnancy, what will you (or do you) miss the most about being pregnant? I think I'll miss having her all to myself and with me all the time. I feel like it will be weird at first for someone else to be holding her.

Upcoming appointments this week? I had one this morning; they did an internal exam but not much is going on. I'm going in again on Thursday and if anything has changed they'll send me home with their magical cocktail to drink. 

Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new, really. Still haven't had any b-h. The swelling is insane. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? Husband leaves in 2 weeks so we want this baby to come soon! My mom went 2.5 weeks over with my brother and me, so we're hoping I don't follow suit! 

GTKY: Now that we have reached or are reaching the end of pregnancy, what will you (or do you) miss the most about being pregnant? The second half of this pregnancy has been pretty easy, but I still don't know if I'll miss anything about being pregnant. Overall it's not my favorite. Maybe feeling kicks and squirms?
