Many of us who are due at the beginning of March may be diving into the deepest level of fatigue at this point, but there is light at the end of the tunnel! Whether you get active or not, you'll be tired, right? Might as well get moving!
What are you doing to stay active during the first trimester?
What is the greatest challenge so far?
What's your plan for the week to come?
Re: FItness Friday Check-in 7/14
My goal this week is to make it to the gym each day this weekend and week when I work. I already have to be up at the crack of dawn, so might as well. If I do that I will feel successful and maybe can take some rest days. I am really determined to stay active this pregnancy. It's more than likely my last, so I want to do accomplish the goal bc I don't want to get to the end of my pregnancy and be desperate for the baby to come out. I want to enjoy it all.
What is the greatest challenge so far? The heat! I was a religious runner but it's just too hot and humid outside. I've had to move to indoor workouts and I never feel like they are as productive.
What's your plan for the week to come? Stay on target with my goals. I have a good routine down and hope that this new gestational week doesn't railroad me. If I remember correctly, 5 weeks was when my nausea really hit last time and I turned 5 weeks today.
EDD March 12, 2018
@notthefather I am absolutely with you--there is 0% chance I will workout in the evening unless my training partners make me The humidity is killing the outdoor runs, too. It wasn't even warm out this morning and the humidity just made it feel gross.
What are you doing to stay active during the first trimester? I have a sprint triathlon this weekend, so that training has made it a bit easier to keep my eyes on the prize. Beyond that, I regularly resistance train 4 days a week with 2 cardio days and 1 day of rest.
What is the greatest challenge so far? I usually work out before I eat breakfast, so that's been a big change for me. I have a piece of toast right now, and I'll probably end up adding a bit of PB in a couple weeks for a bit more substance depending on how my MS goes.
What's your plan for the week to come? I get to "take it easy" tomorrow with a short, moderate bike ride. I have my triathlon on Sunday, and then I think I'll take Monday as my rest day.
Tuesday is an upper body RT day, Wednesday is leg day, Thursday is an upper body RT day, and then Friday I'll go for a run.
With the triathlon training wrapping up this weekend, I am going to figure out a schedule so I can keep swimming twice a week for the next month or so before school starts. Swimming feels so good, and I know it'll only feel better as baby grows. Anything to take the pressure off! I know the pressure was greater with my second pregnancy, and I only anticipate it being greater yet with the third.
What are you doing to stay active during the first trimester?
So far I've just started doing some prenatal yoga and I want to be consistent with going on walks every night. I know that's not a lot but I am a huge weakling so I'm starting slow lol.
What is the greatest challenge so far?
Not being lazy. Or trying to do yoga while my toddler is climbing me or is in the corner doing something crazy. Last time she was ripping off her poopy diaper.
What's your plan for the week to come?
Stick with yoga and kick myself into starting an evening walk. Yeah I haven't started that yet.
Plan for this week - Workout Sat, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs
What are you doing to stay active during the first trimester? Running five days a week with some light weight training
What is the greatest challenge so far? The heat it's so hot here !
What's your plan for the week to come? Same try to run early mornings five times if it's too hot I'll go to the gym when DH gets home.
What are you doing to stay active during the first trimester?
now I am just walking 3 days a week for about an hour on the incline to at least still tone my legs up a little bit.
What is the greatest challenge so far?
getting over my tiredness and actually going
What's your plan for the week to come?

NOTHING!! I need to get it on it. I have chronic shoulder issues and it's already hurting me so I need to get my ass in gear.
What is the greatest challenge so far?
Being SO TIRED and having a slight cold.
What's your plan for the week to come?
I am going to the gym to work out on the elliptical AT LEAST 3 times this week and going walking or doing one of the easier Jillian Michaels workout on the days I don't go to the gym after work.

I do Crossfit, have been for 4 years now. I end up going to the gym in hopes of working out, only to be running to the bathroom during warm up to puke. I don't have the energy to even brush my hair anymore. I'm looking forward to the light at the end of this fatigue tunnel and getting back to it! (Obviously modified and going much lighter with the weights than before.)
My birthday is next week and the owner of my gym always lets you pick your own birthday WOD (workout of the day) so I am hoping I can at least keep everything down to participate in that. Happy 27th birthday to me, lol!
I am so tired so I don't see myself doing much of anything else.
What is the greatest challenge so far? I'd say it's mental. I know exercise is good for me and I plan on continuing it, but I keep having these thoughts in the back of my mind that I'm going to hurt the baby.
What's your plan for the week to come? I signed up for a last minute 5K tomorrow. I will probably just walk the whole thing with my friend. And then three boot camps. I plan on telling my instructor that I'm pregnant on Tuesday so she knows.
What is the greatest challenge so far? The heat for running! Recently, I have had to run at the gym, which I do not like. Also, I am starting to feel a little more fatigued.
What's your plan for the week to come? I plan to run at least 4 days out the week and attend 3 barre classes. **finger crossed!**
I worked really hard to lose 30lbs last year and I'm having a lot of anxiety about gaining unnecessarily. I was also so sick during my last pregnancy that I only netted 10lbs by the time I gave birth. I'm afraid I have that same expectation this time even though I know it's not normal at all.

You Ladies are amazing!
A big difference in this pregnancy and last, I'm eating very differently. I'm truly eating for fuel and health, then I also eat whatever I want, if I want it...Which is rare bc I just want to sleep instead.
I might need to figure out a new external motivator to stay active throughout the rest of this pregnancy! Any ideas?
What are you doing to stay active during the first trimester?
Trying to get my steps in, in between the nausea. I have been slacking on the yoga since I've been at my parents.
What is the greatest challenge so far?
The all-day-nausea hit me hard last Wednesday and I forgot how bad it was... My motivation is suffering. I also forgot all about humidity so my goals of walking in the evenings aren't going so well either.
What's your plan for the week to come?
Baby steps. Headed to the mall Monday to get some steps in. And I'm going to try to knock out my yoga three nights this week.
Most of you are putting me to shame! Wow.
But tomorrow is a new day! Running in the morning and barre class with a friend in the afternoon. Today just wasn't my day. Baby was kicking my butt!
Im moving into my sixth week so I'm interested to see how my body responds relative to my working out, or lack thereof. Lol.

Overall, @notthefather is totally right; give yourself time. Maybe just every-other day is a gym day. Find a good balance. Each trimester brings with it a different challenge, so if you can work through the fatigue and the yucks of this trimester, you're going to make it physically easier on yourself as your belly grows, too. Just find your "right" balance! Sending a boost of energy your way!
