just as the title states, what are some milestones that your LO has reached that are not so ideal? for example - my LO learned how to throw objects. And boy does he love it! While at the store, he got the diaper bag open and hurled the wipes across the aisle. As I went to pick those up, he hurled the cookies - then the puffs, his toy, etc. I couldn't keep up. at the restaurant, he chucked his box rattle so hard he almost broke the glasses! I hate this phase!
Jackie learned to throw too. It's cute when it's a tennis ball, not when it her cup. She also learned to open drawers and cabinets and enjoys taking ALL my Tupperware out and spreading it around the kitchen.

Preston hit the "I'm gonna grab this and run" phase. As long as the item isn't gross or dangerous in trying to ignore it and distract him since I know he thinks it's a game. He also started hitting out of excitement so I'm trying to get him to clap when excited instead of clapping with my face in between his hands
The "escape artist" he has become when it's time to change his diaper or clothes. I've given up on using the changing table, to dangerous at this point, so I do it on the floor (with a pad that he usually moves off of anyway during the struggle). The only thing that will distract him and keep him still are random objects like the jar of butt cream, the plastic syringe for his Vit D, a shoe, etc. Heaven forbid he spots an open door, even if it's just cracked, he'll make a break for it.
He opens and empties all the drawers in the kitchen that he can reach, but that won't last for long since we're installing those child-proof latch thingies this weekend. He'll do the same thing with the dishwasher if it's open so have to wait until he's distracted with something else before loading/unloading it, even still he hears me rummaging in it and immediately darts over.
Nadia loves pulling things apart. As I'm trying to get our house ready for renters her new thing is to follow me around and pull off all the painters tape I just applied to the wall. I'm going mad
Jack likes to take his diaper off, throw his cup, and try to crawl off while I'm changing his diaper. He took his diaper off at nap time on Saturday with a nice poo in it... there was poo EVERYWHERE!!!

Savannah has started to imitate us laughing by throwing her head back like we do when something is hysterical. It is absolutely the cutest thing ever!!
Issue is that she does it while walking and then knocks herself down
Well this kid is proving to be a terrible teether, the girls were so easy, which I guess is better since they teethed at the same time, but it doesn't stop me from wishing he could be an easier teether too... Looks like his second tooth has begun to break through. One bottom tooth and one top tooth, that will look funny!
Madelyn discovered that she can open the trash can at my IL's and parent's houses (they don't have their houses baby proofed since 95% of the time they come to us). She threw out some of DS' toys, and one day even found a snack.
DD has started standing up in the bathtub during her bath. I had to bathe her standing up (with me holding into her). I do have a hand-me-down bathtub seat somewhere but it might even be too small for her. I need straps like the car seat or high chair. This girl is too much.
Ethan does all sorts of nonsense: slapping your face when you're holding him, screeching when we're out to eat (leading me to say "this is why we can't have nice things!?! Haha), throwing everything out of his baby jail/playpen or off the highchair, constantly trying to put his mouth on the lid of the trash can (YUCK)...and not to mention he's a beaver and loves to chew on everything. This is his crib rail
Savannah's new thing is picking up the dog food and feeding it to the dogs, or dropping it in their water bowl.
She dropped a bunch of the food pebbles into the water and then one of our dogs went bobbing for them, which left him and the floor soaking wet. Then of course before I could dry it up Savannah slipped on the water and fell

Ugh Preston did the crib thing. I didn't want him eating the paint so I bought a cover for the rails. Works perfectly and he doesn't even try to chew it anymore

Where did you find that rail cover? We bought this silicone type one that adhered to the rail and he chewed the thing so much that it peeled right off. What a waste of $20! A fabric one seems better.

And this is why we don't keep water bowls inside. LOL! They only have water bowls in the backyard. My chocolate lab is so sloppy with water and literally gulps it and then let's it dribble out of his mouth. And for food, they eat at designated times (I swear they can tell time) and gobble up the food then we store the bowl and Stand in the pantry. Otherwise it becomes a drum set for Ethan. No thanks! Haha.

Amazon. Look up "fleese rail covers". We got the three lab brand.
LO is now trying to climb out of the pack n play. She had her leg halfway up in the netting. Our house is hard to child proof and this was supposed to be a safe place to put her....

So DH calls me at work to tell me that LO picked her nose and handed him her prize, lol. This was a first and he was too proud and laughing to be grossed out. I told him now if he can teach her to use a tissue, that would be great haha.

Elise was trying to climb out of her crib by 16 months. She got super close too. So close that we switched to a toddler bed well before she turned two. Luckily it looks like Nadia is much more chill
Damien likes to put food in his mouth, take it out, and then offers it to me...tries to shove it in my mouth if I am close enough. Super sweet gesture but quite gross. I will, however, gladly accept a half eaten cookie. The dry, non-partially eaten half.
Biting. Damien will try to bite us when he is practicing walking and we are holding his hands and he does it if we try to take something away from him or move his hand off of something he isn't supposed to touch. Naturally we stop everything and firmly tell him not o bite and that it's hurtful. That kiddo has such a strong bite, nearly punctured my skin once.
Did I mention throwing food? LO likes to chew, then pull it out of his mouth and drop it to the floor. Annoying. They say that when babies begin throwing food, that means they're done eating. But NO. LO cries because he's STILL HUNGRY. He just wanted a break in the eating process!
Damien now seems to understand that he shouldn't bite when we're doing something he doesn't like so his alternative is to gently put his mouth on us (if I'm carrying him, he does it to my shoulder; if he's in reach of my hand, he does it to my hand; etc.). It's progress at least!
Most of you may want to punch me in the face for this... Cameron is sick for the first time in as long as I can remember, had a snotty nose once or twice last winter but nothing to write home about. I'm like a parent with an infant sick for the first time lol, not sure what's wrong with me, because this should be old hat.

Hahaha no worries. Preston got sick a lot and with each one I was still a mess asking Dr Google questions.

I still visit Dr. Google whenever Damien shows the slightest signs of a cold, you know...just to make sure it isn't the bubonic plague.
Nadia says it too, but luckily only when appropriate so far. My other two didn't have a real "no" problem, so I'm hoping her early mastery of it isn't a bad sign
Not really a terrible milestone or even a miestone to be honest but Damien is obsessed with shoes, especially mine. He's always been fascinated by them but it seems to have kicked into high gear in the past month or so. He constantly searches them out and carries them around. Today he crawled around while wearing my wedges on his hands.

Too funny, but I totally get that. Miles throws shoes all around the bedroom while I'm getting ready in the morning. He actually put one of my flats on yesterday and walked around in it, so proud of himself. Poor DH often comes home to shoes in his dresser drawers and in the shower, among other places.

Stuck in the box
Jack does the same thing! He LOVES shoes and has a total meltdown if we take them away from him. I wonder what the fascination is with them
