FTM. Pregnancy loss this past May.

3. Best & worst thing about being AMA?
I don't consider myself AMA. I don't know what people are talking about! :-)

But, since I've had a miscarriage, I'm warding off the fears (and praying). At my age, I'm wiser, more calm, and financially stable. Ready!

4. GTKY: What's a random fun fact about you?
Well, hmmm. Budgeting is my life...I plan everything. It's not exactly a "fun" fact but people get a kick out of teasing me about it!

The specialist they send me to because of AMA has a much better sonogram machine and will give us better pictures of our little one. I hate being labeled and the genetic risks.
4. GTKY: What's a random fun fact about you?
I'm a night owl...I get my second wind about 10pm every night. Which stinks when you have to be at work at 7:30am.

3. Best & worst thing about being AMA?
Best:I'm just happy to have kids regardless of age... also, I think that I am a more patient mum than I would have been younger. 

Worst: The fatigue. Fear of complications. 

4. GTKY: What's a random fun fact about you?
I love my vegetable garden...

2. FTM / STM+? If STM+, is this your first AMA?  FTM after 14 month of fertility treatments, ended up getting pregnant naturally. Go figure.

3. Best & worst thing about being AMA? -Best - My husband and I are as ready as we can be to have this baby.  Worst is the fear of complications or higher risk of baby having issues.

4. GTKY: What's a random fun fact about you? -  I have lived in NYC my whole life and grew up in an apartment previously occupied by Babe Ruth.

Got a BFP two days ago so just joining the group now! 

1. Age Now / Age at delivery: 35/36

2. FTM / STM+? If STM+, is this your first AMA?  STM.  My DD is 2y1m old.  This is my first AMA.  I was 33 when DD was born.  

3. Best & worst thing about being AMA?  Best is definitely maturity.  I know I'm a completely different mother than I would have been in my 20s. And I've grown tremdously since having my daughter so I know I'll be even more relaxed with this pregnancy/baby.  

Worst is that I don't have the energy that I did in my 20s! 

4. GTKY: What's a random fun fact about you?  I'm from a part of Nova Scotia, Canada that has a lot of pride in it's Scottish ancestry. When I was 5 years old I won a kids caber toss competition. I think this accomplishment may be the one that my husband shares the most about me! Lol.

@scotiagirl My best friend and I went to Halifax NS and then drove to PEI last fall. I LOVED that experience. It's beautiful there

Best: Feeling like this is the right time in our lives to have kids (maturity, stability, friends with kids close in age)
Worst: Fear of having higher risk/complications. First pregnancy went pretty well, but L&D had complications. No idea how this one will go.

4. GTKY: What's a random fun fact about you?
Recently, I've become somewhat obsessed with cooking in the Instant Pot. I'm hoping this new obsession will make for a healthier pregnancy with way more home-cooked meals than last time around.

3. Best & worst thing about being AMA?  Best is The maturity and the chill factor. I feel way less stressed. 

Worst is that I don't have a group of friends having babies with me like I didn in my 20's

4. GTKY: What's a random fun fact about you?  I am a published author.

First time mom!

3. Best & worst thing about being AMA?
Best: Feel like its the right time for me, as I feel happy, secure, and stable right now. Worst: Acutely aware that I only have a few more years left, which doesn't leave a lot of room for error or having more babies after this  

4. GTKY: What's a random fun fact about you?
I used to be an Ashtanga yoga teacher. I'm super sedentary now so the thought of standing on my head now sounds so ridiculous lol

Just came to get a lil rest from the craziness of the other posts. Is it just me or is it exhausting to anyone to read the internet bickering that goes on sometime here? I'm too old for this. Unfortunately, I could not post on a closed thread but anything I would ever say to someone on the internet, I would be able to boldly say to their face. That's really wack. Well, AMA lady here going to forage for food. Good morning.

*lurking...not my check in* @scotiagirl @mountain_girl My dad is from Cape Breton too!IA small village right on the Cabot Trail. I love Nova Scotia so much. It is one of the most beautiful places I have visited. I am a sucker for lighthouses, puffins, and small towns.

@kalawa I lived away for close to 14 years before I moved back home. For everyone I know from NS that has moved away, the pull to go back home is so strong. It's always good to hear from others that see the beauty and love for this area too!!
