TW: Sad News Today

Today we had our appointment with a specialist which confirmed with 99% accuracy that our baby has Downs Syndrome. This diagnosis alone is not devasting, but the doctor also told us that based on the amount of fluid that she sees on the ultrasound our baby only has a 30% chance of survival to delivery. There is nothing we can do but wait and see. I feel like a fool for sharing our news with so many people, esp. my step daughter. I just wanted to update you guys. Thanks for all of your support.

I don't want to give you false hope but my parents were given high risk notice as well and (other than being overweight) nothing health wise is abnormal about me. Either way you're gonna kick butt mama, keeping your family in my thoughts ♡

I'm so sorry to hear this.  Take care of yourself day by day.  I don't want to encourage false hope, but you are not without hope-- 30% chance of having a very special little kid.  It's just going to be a long trek to find out what the universe has in store for you.  So take it one day at a time.  And if you've already shared the news with lots of people, let those people step up and be a support to you-- some of them might really be able to lift you up.
