2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
My monthly OB appointment is Friday and I have a bloodwork appointment this week too.
3.) Cravings?
Nothing different than when I wasn't pregnant, but now I'm eating it all instead of having restraint. I'm getting fat because of these bad choices. Let's just say McDonald's wasn't a part of my diet before (the work outs weren't worth eating it!)
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? Wanting to know the sex, wanting to feel baby movements, wanting a bump!
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He's just so happy. I think he for sure does NOT think of it 24/7 how I do and it may seem like an abstract idea for a man at this point in the pregnancy. What's cute is sometimes when we're falling asleep and his hand goes on my stomach, he'll giggle.
Me: 31 DH: 32 DH since 12.2009 Married 08.2013 EDD 12.2017
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Fetal/anatomy scan is next week! Very excited to see LO on the screen again and very excited to find out the sex.
3.) Cravings? Salty stuff, cheese, and sandwiches
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave is just that I really love being pregnant. Absolutely love it.
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? Loving it! He loves touching my bump or talking to it, and is going full on dad mode with fixing up our house, especially the nursery and the basement (which we are finishing and turning into a playroom). He's really excited about everything and I know he's going to be a great dad.

1.) How far along are you? 13+3 (may change at my next appt based on NT scan)
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? NT scan on Tuesday. NT measurement was normal and blood test (for DS/T18) came back normal too. Baby was moving around like crazy!
3.) Cravings? I want slurpees every day. Lol. Not sure if that's because of the power of suggestion on this board, or if it's just a pregnant lady thing in general.
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? We finally announced on Saturday!
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He's excited, but he puts waaay too much stock in what the apps say. Like, I have zero sex drive, and he's all, "The app said you'd get your sex drive back at week 13!" It's not a magic switch, and some women have a high sex drive all through the first trimester, so obviously they don't "get anything back" at week 13. Ugh. (One app also said women get their linea nigra at like week six...lurking November the STMs were saying they got theirs after 20 weeks. Apps can be dumb.) @peachy13 Now I desperately need cheese... Haha.
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
Nope, not until AS on 7/14
3.) Cravings? Domino's pizza with extra Italian sausage, dipped in buffalo sauce. It's like my body is actually craving heartburn.
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant: My coworkers are making me so angry today that I'm listening to Meditation Music on my headphones. Baby needs a zen environment, not the stressball life I'm living at this place lately. (So, accordingly, Rave for YouTube and its meditation music!) And also Rave for this BMB and how much entertainment it brings me all day, you guys are the hilariously snarky yet super helpful group of friends I wish I had around IRL.
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He's been fantastic, really blowing me away with his helpfulness for the last couple months. He's excited and curious about (most of) the things going on, asking questions and keeping better track of dates and info than I've ever seen from him in the past. He's understanding when I'm exhausted and super protective of me when we're out and about. I can't wait to see him as a dad!
ETA mentions:
@MJDsquared I have absolutely no sex drive at all, haven't for the entire pregnancy so far. The thought tires me out and makes me uncomfortable. I've also found that a lot of the app "milestones" are super generic and don't apply to me most of the time.
@peachy13 Love your rave about being pregnant! Isn't it wonderful?!
@djd0404 Oh my gosh I've been thinking about pizza for the past like two hours. Not like I first had the thought two hours ago, it's really been present in my mind that long. Hahaha.
@MJDsquared My DH has a tendency to believe everything he reads too. He already won't let me sleep on my back (I think I have till 20 weeks!)
@djdj0404 What is it about pregnancy and pizza? I've been craving it (and indulging) for a month!
1.) How far along are you? 16w3d
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Had a routine check up yesterday and it went well. 16 week bloodwork + heartbeat check. Scheduled the A/S for next month!
3.) Cravings? Pizza per usual, and thankfully started craving fresh veggies over the past week. I was starting to get worried that I'd never want veggies again and I'd give birth to a pepperoni pizza pie.
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: I'm going away for a wedding this weekend with my best friends! Rant: The wedding's in Texas and it's gonna HOT.
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He's really excited! He asked for a baby book so I got him "The Expectant Father" and he's been reading it diligently. Also he is now giving me unsolicited advice (lol) like "you can't sleep on your back" (yeah, after 20 weeks- let me live!)
No appointments lately, I'm in between my 12w and 16w check up (listening to the heartbeat ). Just realized my 16w appointment is next week already so that makes me excited!
Not really any cravings, my stomach still feels uneasy some days but I'm trying to eat somewhat healthy now
Rave: pretty much everyone knows I'm pregnant now (family, friends, co-workers) and they have all been great! No weird comments or unsolicited advice yet . We haven't (and probably won't) posted to social media... maybe if I posted there I would get a different response!
My husband has been great and super helpful. One cute/funny thing is how much he worries - about what I eat mainly. Most recently he was panicking because I used a circular saw for a house project and he's worried about the baby's ears now . He even had a nightmare about t last night, I feel bad!
14 weeks, 2 days. Does anyone else feel like time is passing super slowly or is that just me?
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
Nope. I'm in that weird long gap between NT appt and regular check-up.
3.) Cravings? My insatiable need for Chick-fil-a sandwiches has diminished and my appetite is more or less at its normal pre-pregnancy state now, but with the addition of a chocolate milk obsession. Occasionally when DH wants ice cream, he will tell me that I'm craving Dairy Queen and go get some. Whatever you wanna tell yourself, buddy.
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm dying to wear maternity clothes and am still nowhere near "popping." I have a severely retroverted uterus which I guess is why-- I'm actually overweight so I can make it look like I have a bump when I relax, but it's really still just fat!
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He's more excited than I am right now. He read all of "Dude, You're Gonna Be A Dad!" long before I even cracked the cover of my WTE book. I can tell he's secretly relieved I'm feeling better now, though, since he isn't having to fly solo on all the chores and cooking like he did weeks 6-12.
My husband has been great and super helpful. One cute/funny thing is how much he worries - about what I eat mainly. Most recently he was panicking because I used a circular saw for a house project and he's worried about the baby's ears now . He even had a nightmare about t last night, I feel bad!
Tell him it will be alright! I know they recommend keeping away from loud noises during pregnancy, but all that fluid around the baby is like a built-in set of earplugs. Baby can hear about as well as you can hear with an ear infection, or underwater at the swimming pool. The loudest sounds to baby are going to be the ones from inside you (heartbeat, etc.)
@ashtynmo My DH is worried about baby's ears too. He shushes the dog because she's "too loud for her little brother." Futile, but highly amusing.
1.) How far along are you? 17wk + 5d
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Nothing past tense but we've got some coming up: Check up appointment on Th. Anatomy Scan Fri of next week! (I can't believe it's already almost here!)
3.) Cravings? Last night I had to have Spanakopita from our favorite greek place -- but I'm guessing that had more to do with not turning on our oven and lack of AC than an actual craving.
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? Self-rant: I've been intensely grumpy (bordering on outright bitchy) for a week and a half now and it's getting really old. Even when I try not to be grumpy, it sounds grumpy.
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? Yesterday he was singing in the car loud enough "for the bump to hear" some made up nursery song he'd clearly assembled from pieces of his childhood memories. In the last day or two he's gotten super excited, and motivated to help with decisions and projects, and I have no idea what flipped that switch in him but it's kind of amazing to watch.
All these stories about excited dads-to-be are making my day!
@elcd458 My DH is reading "Dude You're Gonna be a Dad", too! It's been his bathroom reading of choice, and I can always tell when he's read another chapter when he starts dropping little pieces of advice (like, "we're going to have to pack a hospital bag"). And he's also all about "treating us to DQ" just because he wants a cone.
@kyrwyn That line about your DH loudly singing a made up nursery song made me LOL
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
Went in last week instead of this week for my 14 week quick appointment since last time my BP was high so I wanted to make sure I got in sooner. Turns out my BP was much lower and Dr. is not concerned at all. Heard the heartbeat which was fun! The Dr. goes "this is you..." and you can hear my heart beat, then moves it to baby and goes "this is not you....".... It was funny in the moment.
3.) Cravings?
Still Iced tea with Lemon.... but also ice cream/sweet treats
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions?
My rant is that I just dont feel pregnant! I dont really look like it... and I dont feel bad... @elcd458 I feel like im in the same boat. I 'could' look more pregnant.... but It's really just fluff....
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? I got DH the book From Dude to Dad and while it has ok basics, the tone of the book seems very juvenile... like for a 21 year old to read.... or at least that's how DH describes it. He's slowly getting more into it, and has been very sweet to me if I need or want anything. We are starting to work on names which is proving to be a bit more difficult, but overall he's excited maybe just a bit apprehensive about his role.
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
Last week we had a check up with my doctor to check on baby/get her filled in on the shenanigans that went down while she was taking some time off i.e. My bleeding issues from the SCH and Placenta Previa and my trip to the high risk specialists at the hospital. It was super helpful to talk to her about how she and the HR people will be working together because I was sooo scared that I'd have to see them and not her and I love my doctor.
3.) Cravings?
I've been eating a lot of salmon. I really love those little preseasoned packets which I mix with corn and tomato and devour. Also I can't get enough watermelon.
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rave: I love my doctor. She is kind and patient but also completely no nonsense and no sugar coating which I love. She doesn't speak down to us ever which is so important to me when I think about d-day. I always feel super spoiled because I have an ultrasound every single appointment so I get to see Victor growing and changing which appeases my pgal brain especially with the bleeding. To make it even better my SL is the CNA/Office Manager so making my appointments and keeping in contact/asking questions is as easy as sending a text. It has really made us close and she has been such a comfort during the harder moments of this pregnancy.
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? This will be DH's 3rd baby and he will be born 18 years after his youngest (almost to the day her BDay is 12.3 and LO is due 12.4) he is so excited and happy but is waaaay less frazzled about it than I am. He has been so protective and helpful. He goes out of his way to take care of me and to take the lead on house work. He keeps me calm and positive and he is already 100% intent on spoiling the heck out of his 'Little V' (He calls me Baby B and Byron our dog is always 'Little B' so Victor has been dubbed 'Little V')
@AMCsquared Im in the same boat. I really limit what I eat when I'm not pregnant - I try to eat healthy 90% of the time. So now, it's a very strange feeling to just get whatever I want when I want it. It won't be good for me long term, so I'm gonna need to reign it in pretty soon. I was basically just trying to get through the first tri alive. Thats so exciting @peachy13! Lerner us know what you're having! And how cute is your husband. Good for you haha thankfully my husband hasn't been reading the daily apps lol @MJDsquared. Although, I haven't been limiting sex, but the extracurricular activities have definitely been out on hold. @djd0404 Give me Buffalo sauce or give me DEATH!! I can't get enough of it these days. Stay zen, gurl. @brittabatwhite Cool you chose Victor! That's a great name @blueskies17 Have fun! Find a pool and you'll be all good. Ugh that sounds so great right now. I need to find a pool! @ashtynmo omg Circular saws scare the crap out of me. I just always assume that I'll cut an appendage off. Good for you. @elcd458 Im obsessed with ice cold chocolate milk right now. And I HATE milk normally. @kyrwyn Thats so cute of your husband. Sorry you've been catching yourself being grumpy. I hate when I do that! @abcola My husband says the same thing about his dad books. He says they're all just trying way too hard to be cool and manly and they're just lame. He's started listening to podcasts on parenting and he seems to be liking those a lot more. I don't know what they are, but I'm sure you could find them pretty easily.
1.) How far along are you? 13+3
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? NT scan last week. It went well! Babies are good and swimming around in there
3.) Cravings? Still pizza! I need it all the time. I've been getting into sandwiches lately too. But I'm still grossed out by veggies, which I'm feeling really guilty about. I've got to step up m my healthy food game. Poor babies.
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? So many rants AND raves today, butnim soooo tired. We have open houses every day this week and I'm working a ton. I'll be sooooo happy when this week is over!
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? Hes been so great. I always wondered how he would be when I got pregnant, and I'm pleasantly surprised. He's always making sure I'm cozy and getting me snacks, and he really tries to keep me calm. I love it. He's very protective. Yeah, I'm into it
@AMCsquared@balletnerd I want all the same things you two want! Bump, gender, movement! I think I might have a little bit of a bump, but it's still really hard to distinguish my gut from a bump.
@MJDsquared My husband actually downloaded the Bump app before I did! Thankfully he mostly looks at it to see what size fruit the babies are lol.
@ashtynmo@kyrwyn It never even occurred to me that noises outside the womb could affect the babies before they're born! I'm not too panicked about it, but I'll keep that in mind for the future.
1.) How far along are you?
14+3
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
Had an appointment last Monday. It went great! They were moving all over the place and they finally looked more like humans than blobs.
3.) Cravings?
None really, I just love to eat (but that was true before pregnancy too)
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Not currently feeling great. Think I might be getting a stomach bug.
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He's been excited, but DH also has an anxiety disorder which he is medicated for, so he's been dealing with some anxiety since learning we're having twins (can't really blame him!). He hasn't been sleeping much and he wakes up super early now. Even so, he's been cooking for me a lot and doing his best to be supportive.
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Next appointment is 7/10
3.) Cravings? I really haven't experienced cravings... I eat what sounds good at the moment...I feel like DH wants me to have cravings so he can run out and save the day, lol
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm with you ladies wanting a bump... my plus sized self has a belly, but I blame it on constipation and pre-existing fat... Hoping to get this constipation under control... I'm at my wit's end
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? DH is confused, I think... sometimes he is super protective and won't let me do much (pregnant women shouldn't lift, bend, twist, etc) even though my OB has told him that I'm fine... and then other times I think he is annoyed with my inconsistent PG symptoms, nausea, vomitting, etc... He gets very excited every week to learn the baby's size and he has really had a lot of fun telling people about the pregnancy. I sometimes consider getting him a book, but not sure he'd care to read it...
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? I have an elective ultrasound on Thursday night to determine the sex! We won't find out until Friday night though with our parents.
3.) Cravings? Chocolate milkshakes
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? I legit have a bump now that popped out of nowhere!! For the past few weeks it would come and go as I ate, but this morning when I looked in the mirror the belly was just there. It's still small, but the cashier at Publix asked me when I was due. Kinda ballsy on her part to be honest lol
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He has been very sweet and extra thoughtful. He is the calm to my anxiety. I can tell he is excited and looking forward to becoming a parent, which makes me feel good. Where as I am often terrified of whether or not I will be a good parent, he is laid back and confident that everything will be fine. I am thankful for him!
2.) Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Not until 20 weeks
3.) Cravings? Nope, I just want all the food.
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? How are some of you getting your anatomy scans done so early?! Where I live 20 weeks is normal, but my office does them at 22!
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He is super excited, but I think he thinks we don't have to prepare. Like all the parenting knowledge will just magically come to us and preparing the house can wait "until later in the pregnancy". Umm, that's not how this works! I know he will be an amazing dad, but he is just so lazy sometimes.

@ktcakes87 My doctor recommended I get my anatomy scan scheduled for 18 weeks, but according to google they can be done anytime between 18 - 22 weeks. I'm not sure if he leaned toward the earlier side because I'm having twins or if that's just normal practice for their office.
@ktcakes87 My doctor normally schedules anatomy scans for 20-22 weeks and mine is scheduled for 19w6d. I will be out of town the following week, and didn't want to wait till 21 weeks lol.
@ktcakes87 My doctor prefers to schedule anatomy scans for 19-21 weeks, and I'll reach 19wks on the 7th. When they offered it, I said "yes" immediately because it means I get to kick off my bday weekend with a better look at baby. (Also I'd already taken PTO for next week, so it fit really nicely into my staycation plans.)
@ktcakes87 At my NT scan I was measuring 6 days ahead, and they told me it was up to us/my OB whether we wanted to keep my original due date, but then they made me schedule based on their measurement. So my A/S is August 1st, and I'll be 18+3 (19+2 by their measurement). I messaged my OB to ask and she said either way I'm within the window (so it must be 18-22 weeks according to them). But I kind of wish they would've let me schedule by my original due date because I don't want to be even a little too early and have to go back again.
@peachy13 LYYYYYFE! Yesterday, I got the best sandwich from this Italian deli that I love. Dry Italian salami (IDGAF about the no salami rule, btw), Mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickle, peppers, onion, cheddar, and a delicious pesto spread on Dutch crunch bread. It was the best thing ever, I swear. I just woke up and now I want to eat it again!
@breezybee That sounds so good! I'm trying to decide what to get for lunch and it's probably going to be a sandwich. IDK where I'll find one with pesto sauce though .
@breezybee that sounds seriously incredible. I have been all about sandwiches lately, specifically roast beef/american/mayo/pickles on a nice crispy roll. So good.

3.) Cravings?
I crave Icee/Slush drinks EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!!! In particular, Mango flavored!
4.) Rants/Raves/Questions? One rave is that I was off last week and we pretty much have the nursery all done! I am completely raving about "removable wallpaper" that we used in his room. Ladies, you have to check this stuff out!!!
5.) GTKY: How is your SO handling the pregnancy? He is doing so well. He is so sweet to me and caters to my eating habits! He always asks me if I am feeling ok and if we are out and about, if I need to go home. Makes me love him just that much more!

I don't know what they are, but I'm sure you could find them
pretty easily.

NT scan last week. It went well! Babies are good and swimming around in there
Still pizza! I need it all the time. I've been getting into sandwiches lately too. But I'm still grossed out by veggies, which I'm feeling really guilty about. I've got to step up m my healthy food game. Poor babies.
So many rants AND raves today, butnim soooo tired. We have open houses every day this week and I'm working a ton. I'll be sooooo happy when this week is over!
Hes been so great. I always wondered how he would be when I got pregnant, and I'm pleasantly surprised. He's always making sure I'm cozy and getting me snacks, and he really tries to keep me calm. I love it. He's very protective. Yeah, I'm into it
@MJDsquared My husband actually downloaded the Bump app before I did! Thankfully he mostly looks at it to see what size fruit the babies are lol.
@ashtynmo @kyrwyn It never even occurred to me that noises outside the womb could affect the babies before they're born! I'm not too panicked about it, but I'll keep that in mind for the future.
Hoping to get this constipation under control... I'm at my wit's end
He gets very excited every week to learn the baby's size and he has really had a lot of fun telling people about the pregnancy.
I sometimes consider getting him a book, but not sure he'd care to read it...
PS I just love these discussions on here

Went for an ultrasound last week and it was wonderful! I got to see baby and found out it was a boy. He was moving all over and it was so exciting to see him move. By far the highlight of the pregnancy to date.
One rave is that I was off last week and we pretty much have the nursery all done! I am completely raving about "removable wallpaper" that we used in his room. Ladies, you have to check this stuff out!!!
He is doing so well. He is so sweet to me and caters to my eating habits! He always asks me if I am feeling ok and if we are out and about, if I need to go home. Makes me love him just that much more!
