Went for my NT scan on Wednesday, and neither baby was in the right position for measurements, so they decided not to do it. Period. Since I'm getting the blood test, they figured that was good enough. I'm kind of disappointed, but I guess that's how it goes?
Seems kind of bogus to me because you know you will be paying for that ultrasound.
  • @egirl1025 I pay my copay regardless, for the visit. The MFM specialist also took some measurements for a baseline, for their records, because I'll be going in for biweekly ultrasounds starting week 16, to monitor for twin to twin transfusion syndrome (since they share a placenta). And they fussed over looking for the membrane between the babies, since they're so close, they look mo-mo at first. So they did some stuff, just not the NT scan.

I also got to see them almost playing patty-cake together. That was sweet.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

Sounds so cute!  I saw my son yawn during the AS and it was the single most adorable ever.  From that point on I couldn't wait to hold him in my arms.
  • @schaze - luckily my OB wasn't mad about the weight loss. she mentioned that with her own kids, she also lost in the first tri. and i got a quick ultrasound! she didn't do any measurements, but since it was the first appointment with her, she wanted to check them out. both babies are a lot bigger and their little hearts were beating away!

I have my NT scan in a couple weeks on the 17th, and then the anatomy scan will be on August 24, yay!
