Infertility

Newbie!

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking for the past few weeks and wanted to come out of the shadows and introduce myself!

I am 6 days away from my 29th birthday and hubs is 29!  We have been TTC for a bit over 3 years.  This March we decided if I wasn't pregnant by the end of June we would go see a RE.  On a whim I suggested that hubs try an at home sperm test in March and we found that he has low count.  After going to a Urologist it was confirmed that he has low count and low motility.  At that point we went ahead and went to a RE.  After meeting with a RE we learned that I have PCOS and a septate uterus (not necessarily causing IF but something for us to be aware of).  After discussing our options (and weighing whether we should do surgery to remove the septum) we have decided that I will be having my first IUI in July!  I will be doing a medicated cycle taking 2.5 mg Femera CD 3-7 and then 100 mg progesterone suppositories 2x a day from 3DPIUI!  I'll be going in for an U/S on CD 12 to see how the follicles are sizing up.  I'm super excited for my current cycle to end so we can get into the IUI!

Re: Newbie!

  • Welcome and good luck with your first IUI! I also was diagnosed with PCOS at 29 when we first started our fertility journey. We also did Femara for a couple cycles then moved onto Clomid. IUI's are fairly easy which is great so don't be worried. Best of luck to you.
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
