  • @rachelg777 Welcome! Sorry you are here under these circumstances. I work in the ER, previously at a Level 2 but now just a nondesignated community ED. Love my trauma peeps!

  • @rachelg777 It's been a very good change for me (*TW* I was still at the level II during my pregnancy and developed PIH and a partial abruption at around 28 weeks. OB said, "Switch jobs or I put you on bedrest." So I switched to the community and it's been great. Still busy at times. Last week 2 codes and a stroke that needed TPA/Intubated/Lines/cardene drip within 3 hrs along with all our typical work-ups. Also it's been great for breastfeeding. I doubt I would have had time to pump at my last job, but this job I pumped until 15 months and still breastfeeding at 18 months morning and night. Definitely a good change for me. *end TW)

    @nitnat007 thank you!  :)

@fishsticks-n-custard I'm so glad it's been a better change for your LO and your lifestyle! I'm sure things are still busy, life of a nurse, but that does sound more manageable. You have to have some action to keep the job interesting right? ;)  (*TW I know that my job had likely nothing to do with my loss but of course I am going over everything in my head that maybe I could have changed. I work FT nights- which  alone is tough on my body. Adding in the physical and emotional stress associated from the traumas we see (and the way nurses are treated at my institution) and I am sure it is harder on me than I ever thought before I was pregnant. Im probably just beating myself up over nothing, but have just been trying to figure out lifestyle changes to help support bringing in a healthy LO! end *TW*)

@rachelg777 +1 to what @kiki75 said. *TW* The first thing the doctor said to me with my first loss was essentially that I would have had to be doing loads of drugs, or stabbed directly in the uterus to cause the MC. So, definitely not your fault. */TW*

  • @rachelg777 I agree 100% with what @hedgepig and @kiki75 said. *TW* You did nothing to cause your loss but it's totally natural to look back and say, "What if.." Just don't let yourself go too far down the rabbit hole. Big hugs!!

  • Ages (you and SO): 27, 36

How many months have you been TTC? This our first cycle trying

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Nothing specifically. I have a period tracker to figure out my ovulation day and bought some OPKs but yeah, that's it!

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have a three year old son and I was part of the March 2014 bump group and was around when the whole Then Comes Family thing blew up. I haven't been back since then. I was never a part of the TTGP group so I thought I'd check it out for baby #2. Thanks for having me ladies!

  • @dukestar5 her approach is just hard for me because I cannot bring myself to throw all.the.things in the floor. Haha. Have you read the book?

  • @lincbeesmom OMG! I totally forgot about the whole Then Comes Family thing. I was active in TTGP and then June 2015 group at that time. Wow, that was a time to be alive. Ha!

  • @dukestar5 welcome! And thank you. I have started running again and doing some light weights - let me tell you that first run back was miserable. I felt like a giant worm. Granted I am visiting family in TX and it has also been in the high 90's. But slowly I will get back into it! Physically i feel pretty much back to my old self ( :'( ) besides a little sluggish with the workouts. You must be dedicated to fit workouts in with 3 LO's at home! What does your routine generally look like?

  • Hello!

I've been lurking for a few days and ready to say hi. I'm 29 and DH is 37.

I just had the nexplanon implant removed yesterday, so just starting this journey.

In the beginning, we are just going to take it easy and see how things go. I'll check cm, but that's likely it. Then we'll assess if it takes more than 6 months or so and see if we want to add in stuff like OPKs etc.

I'm a mom of three girls already (two biological, one step daughter). We would like to have one more and now that the youngest is starting kinder, we are ready to try. We also have a dog and two cats.

I look forward to chatting with you ladies!

@cathyann4 - Welcome. Many of us here came here with the idea that we wouldn't become BSC about TTC, but sometimes it happens. I had my nexplanon removed Jan 6, 2107 and I haven't gotten a BFP yet. I hope your stay here is shorter than mine. Good luck!

  • Thank you and thank you for sharing!
  • @mdfarmchick--not yet!  My best friend read the book and gave me a pretty thorough overview.  I'm terribly about hanging on to things (and thinking/hoping I will use them again one day...I still have some clothes from HS)!  I imagine I would have a hard time throwing everything on the floor, but I see how it could be really effective.  (And once they are bagged and gone, I probably wouldn't remember or need anything I got rid of).

@rachelg777--I can only imagine!  We live in Texas now and it was 80 degrees when I went for a run at 6am.  (During the week, I'm usually up by 5/5:30am to run or swim before DH leaves for work).  It's tough, but it helps me start the day!

@cathyann4 --welcome!  How old are your 3 girls?

  • @dukestar5 I very much like the philosophy of the book but some of it is a little hard for my Western mind to take in. She has a good order and system, but I can't throw everything on the floor when I have a toddler. I do like thanking your things and saying goodbye--in the sense of getting rid of guilt for overbuying to begin with. Does that make sense?

How long: past two cycles were deliberate and planned, with casual intentional trying for about about 4 months before that, ntnp before before.

waydtgku? Vitamins and maca for both about 4 months on it now, serrapeptase + preseed past 2 cycles

This cycle appears to have been successful so far.. faint bfp 10dpo, faster darker bfp 12 dpo, digital at 14 dpo: pregnant 2-3 weeks. Currently Iam 15 dpo. I have short cycles, so technically I'm officially past when my period is due, but not past the 28 days of the average woman's cycle. I've heard when I get beyond the 28 days I can feel more confident I'm not having a chem pregnancy.
i will likely take another digital in a few days to ease my mind.

about us: we are pretty boring...

Sorry all, didn't mean to ruffle feathers. I registered before bfp to post in the newbie intro thread, but it took awhile to be approved. I didn't see any newbie intro in the pregnant board, but also consider myself still trying to get pregnant because the rate of miscarriage is still high, I'm not convinced I'm carrying a viable embryo, and due date (if successful) is early march and there is no march club yet. Previous experience has been when joining a due date club this early, it is hard to say 'I'm out' when it turns out the embryo wasn't viable.
Had reasons, none of them intending to hurt anyone's feelings.
But I can see there are a lot of angry unsupportive people on this forum, which is definately not what I'm looking for in a support group.
