Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread 6/19

  • Swollen feet if I do too much. Freaks me out because that's one of the warning signs of my preeclampsia condition.

  • In the middle of the night I woke up to Baby kicking my bladder so hard I almost peed myself.
    Gonna work on those Kegels.

  • 7 hours of broken sleep because I got up to pee 6 times. I am so over peeing!
  • I woke up to a painful stich in my left side. I cant tell what it is from, but it hurts.  I also have pee myself twice now  :|.  Both times it was immediately after I peed, and I would stand up and get my pants back on, and then it was completely uncontrollable trickle.  SUPER ANNOYING.  I have been doing kegels for weeks, so I thought I might avoid that, but I guess not.

  • @brookedeyo yes! I'm so over peeing esp at night! And all the peeing leads to insomnia for me, so I finally get sleep just to wake up and pee again. over it!

Lower back pain even when taking it easy at work and at home. Wearing the maternity belly band now to help but at the end of the night DH still has to give me a low back massage.

  • The potato feet saga continues...I should be half lemon water by now. Box under my desk doesn't help much. I just keep wiggling my legs and feet etc under my desk- which makes me look like a little kid squirming in her seat b/c I need to pee. awesome.

  • @brookedeyo that was my night last night too. @dma0389, insomnia on top of that sounds like the worst!

The snoogle has been a savior for me this pregnancy (surprising for me because I didn't use it at all my second pregnancy), but every time I wake up I have to rotate myself from side to side because my joints get so sore. I always feel like I'm rotating a piece of meat that needs to be evenly cooked or something.

  • @littlebug2010 I've taken to staying on the toilet a little longer and shifting my weight back and forth to make sure everything made it out of my bladder because the extra trickle is not cool.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Yep, pee trickle here too after going. It freaks me out because my water last time was broke and it trickled out very slowly leaving small marks just like the pee does.
  • @brookedeyo I was watching TV and coughed and pee trickled. My first thought was Oh no did my water break! I ran to the bathroom and only had to pee. Pee trickle makes me nervous also because I had a lot of that after my ob broke my water last time.

  • +1 for the post-pee trickle. I do try to lean forward after peeing to empty my bladder, but it doesn't always work.  :(

@littlebug2010 I feel you on the pee. I have to pee, stand up, sit back down and then wait while leaning back and forth.

Edit: Not being able to tell the difference between pee or a slow leak of amniotic fluid is one of my fears. I know it just doesn't always gush on out. I wish I could get my hands on those test strips they use in the hospital...

  • Thanks Ladies!  I feel a bit let crazy for peeing my pants.  I like all the advice on how to avoid it as well.  Guess my time in the bathroom will be a bit longer now  . . .  Also, I had my childbirth class on Saturday, and It started right after that, so I had a panic attack that my water broke. I smelled my pants to make sure  :s I think the class got it in my head that it could happen at any time, and that it would be a trickle.

  • @Kathryn0903 have you been diagnosed with preeclampsia? I had a scare this morning - vision went blurry for quite some time. I've already called the doctor and they are getting me in to check my blood pressure at 1:30 but preeclampsia was my fear. Especially with the amount of swelling I had this weekend. My vision seems to be better, but I do have a headache and slight dizziness.  Do the symptoms come and go? Or are they persistent?
  • @mrsw2017 I have been diagnosed with mild preeclampsia. I mainly have higher blood pressure and protein was detected in my urine. The swelling is starting more now which worries me. Make sure if they think you might have preeclampsia they tell you all the warning signs to look out for. I was given a list of things to watch out for.

@donehue +1 for both loving the snoogle and feeling like a rotisserie as a rotate every couple of hours (or less) to relieve the slight joint pain in my shoulders and hips.

I have public bone pain/pelvic soreness that makes it hurt to turn over, sit, stand, etc. It's what I've had since the first trimester so I've talked to the doctor and I know it's normal. It's manageable and I can get a few hours of relief with stretches but jeez is it uncomfortable and inconvenient.

Hey Guys, I'm freaking out a little bit.   So, I have a terrible cough, and I took a bath to sit in the steam and tried to loosen it up.   I get out of the tub, and go to pee, and I lose my mucous plug!    Like not a piece, a huge amount.   I'm still feeling baby moving and I do have mild cramps, nothing worse than usual.  I know you can lose your plug over several weeks before delivery but I'm only 33 and 2. Time to call the doctor?
  • @JDBtwinmama I always err on the side of caution and would call, if for no other reason than to give yourself peace of mind!
  • @jdbtwinmama was there blood mixed in with the plug?  If so then yes I would definitely call your doctor because that could be your bloody show.    If it was only your plug,  and you have nothing else happening (contractions, etc.) then I personally wouldn't call my doctor- but always use your best judgement!

@littlebug2010 I had that stitch pain happening too,   Mine went on for days-  it would come and go intermittently.  It was on my upper right abdomens right under my rib cage.   I'm pretty sure it was gas pains
  • @AdvoCyndi30 I think you're right, I'm gonna call
  • OTmom3OTmom3 member
@JDBtwinmama, I'd call to be on the safe side but I have heard it can regenerate and that it isn't always an early sign of labor. Can't hurt to call though.

@littlebug2010, I get crazy side stitches too. Sometimes high up on my side and other times down low. Today I lifted a pretty heavy patient and had a very sore area under my bump on the left side. I'm thinking I pulled a muscle but I'm not sure.

I've had much more frequent BHs. I've probably had about 1-2 an hour, but just for the past 2-3 hours or so.

  • @JDBtwinmama FWIW, I lost my plug at 34 weeks with my first baby, and he stayed put for another 5 weeks after.
  • @PrincessPiper thank you so much!   That's what I needed to hear, I've done NICU and I don't want to do it again!

I am absolutely exhausted. I don't know how I am going to be able to survive work for the next 6 weeks.  I thought that I slept 8 hours last night, but it must have not been restful sleep at all.  I feel like I can barely function.

@littlebug2010 I do the whole staying on the toilet a little bit longer thing too, but sometimes when I sneeze it just comes out! If you are super worried about the trickle, Depends or a pad is a good choice. I've also started to carry an extra pair of undies just in case.
  • tova24tova24 member
@smallbutmighty77 I hope you are right! Though having to buy stool softener and preparation h and checking out the face the checkout guy gives you is just rude!
  • @tova24 I only use the self checkout at Target for this reason.
  • Just a grumble... the fetal movement thing threw me for a loop this morning. I'm sitting here at 8:30 am, had my coffee, and realized I didn't feel Baby move this morning (that I could remember). Cue freakout. Drank water, got a snack, shook my belly, Google-stalked fetal movement at 33-34 weeks (I do remember that What to Expect warns that as quarters get tight, movement can decrease)... and then she started rolling around a bit. Just got thwacked in the ribs like normal. Phew. Man.

  • @tripledaggerWed95976 thanks!  I think mine might have been gas this time!  It lasted for a LONG time though, so I was a bit worried something else was happening, but about an hour after I got things moving, it felt much better.

@tova24 I now have an extra pair of undies in my work bag!

@DeansGirl14 The fetal movement watch can be scary!  My little guy almost never moves when Im walking around, so if Im out and about for a while, I can go a long time without feeling him! Im glad yours has decided to give you some good rib jabs since!

  • I am not sure why but physically I feel better than I have all pregnancy I will be 30 weeks Friday. I have been having mini anxiety moments though this past week about having three kids. I am not exactly sure why because number three was totally planned, but I am a little nervous this go around for some reason. I think its because this time its going to be a boy and I never ever in my wildest dreams imagined that we would have a boy. So, in my mind it feels completely different and brand new. I realize a baby is a baby, but please someone who has both or dealt with having number three give me some tips on how to juggle three babies? @PinkPrincessPiper since you had two boys then a girl. Did you feel overwhelmed with it? I feel like going from two the three will be an adjustment, but nothing like going from none to one! That was one of the reasons we decided to have another one because hell its already crazy with two little ones, one more probably would fit right in to the craziness just fine! Sorry for the rant, just feeling a little overwhelmed with the changes that are fast approaching!!!!
  • No advice to provide @jadkins2 but sending you a virtual hug! I'm sorry you're anxious.

  • @jadkins2 Take some deep breaths, mama. You got this! My boys were 4 & 9 when we had DD, and they are great with her. Do you have a good support system (family & friends) that can help out when LO comes?

It won't always be easy, just take it one day at a time. I learned to lower my expectations in terms of my house ever being entirely sparkling clean. Don't worry so much right now about having a boy vs girls, at first they all just eat, sleep & poop!
  • @jadkins2 I also felt great at 30-31 weeks with #3! I have two girls and a boy on the way. My husband travels for business about one week a month (he is away now), and I'm like why the hell did I think I could handle 3 kids on my own? I know I will handle it, but I'm really praying this guy is well-behaved. DD2 was such a good baby that I feel like I'm due for a little trouble. I've also been a little sad about putting away the girl stuff, but watching DH finally get to buy things he relates more to has more than made up for it. I mostly just distract myself by focusing on excitement for the baby snuggles and learning about being a boy mom. You've got this! How old is your oldest? How old are your girls? Are they excited/going to be good helpers?

  • @jadkins2 I've definitely had the what were we thinking moments during this pregnancy even though we always planned on having 3.  We have 2 boys and are Team Green for the third time.  At least with 2, we could divide and conquer, but now we'll be outnumbered.  DS1 is really involved in activities (multiple travel teams and piano lessons) and DS2 is about to be more involved in sports.  DS2 is also still a handful.  DH occasionally travels for work so while we can usually manage all of the commitments when we're both around, it will be really challenging if he's away.  Our families don't live close enough to help.  Life will be hectic, but I'm sure we'll get used to our new normal.

I'm trying to focus on the positive and I look forward to completing our family.  However, it's definitely scary figuring out how to manage 3 and realizing how life is going to change.  At least a bunch of us can support each other as we go through this together.

  • I do having a great support system near by and my husband works out of town three days every week. Right now with two it's only ever really hard when someone or both are sick. I feel exactly like @donehue my dd2 came out sleeping through the night and just the sweetest little soul, but my first was the complete opposite never slept and very needy. I am nervous  Just because it feels brand new to me with having a boy. Almost like ftm feelings. I am so appreciative that other people can relate! Thank goodness! My girls are 3 almost 4 and 15 Months. So very young. But I do have confidence that I can handle this. Last pregnancy I was just more calm and felt like I had it under control. Besides not understanding how I could ever love another baby the same as my first, but that wasn't hard  at all. I think like everything else it's just a learning curve and trying to still work full time has me a little worried. Thank you all again so much for being here to listen to my concerns and make me feel like I am not the only one a little nervous for the transition.
  • @littlebug2010 I have had that happen a few times! I actually brought extra underwear to the wedding I was in this weekend just in case!!
  • My boobs are out of control. I noticed when I was driving yesterday that I had to have my hands higher up on the steering wheel or my side boobs bumped my arms. Then there's the stinging sensation shooting through the right one. My milk better come in or I'm going to be very annoyed if all this is for nothing

  • @SouthernMama15 the side boob is a real problem!  Im short, and basically have zero torso, so my boobs now sit on my bump.  When he kicks, my boobs will move.

Ive been leaking, and its driving me nuts, I am planning to measure myself (according to what the bravado site says to do) and ordering a light sleep bra for now.  Im also only leaking out of one boob, is that normal?
