baby with seasonal allergies?

Does anyones baby have seasonal allergies?  Mine this week has had watery red eyes and rubs them to the point they turn red as if they itch.  Hes also on an antibiotic for an ear infection so I wouldnt think its just a cold etc.. also while at the doc for the ear infection his eye was red/green gunk and they said no its not pink eye prob just a cold.. but now the itching and rubbing eyes has been worse.

It's my understanding that they're too young for allergies.

My sister works in pediatric allergy and pulmonology. She said that until a baby has experienced all four seasons in their entirety, they very, very rarely diagnose seasonal allergies in infants. That being said, it is possible. We think Beck has them, as he always has red watery eyes. But it's too soon to tell.

FYI Pediatrician today thinks he does have allergies and wants us giving him zyrtec or claritin daily.
