Anyone else have one or have had one in the past? My doctor made it seem totally common, but google tells me only 1% of pregnancies have one. Can cause harmless spotting/bleeding or can absorb and disappear on its own
I was told I have one at my appointment last Friday. Midwife said it should absorb on its own but warned me I might have spotting (I haven't had any yet). She also said no jumping or anything high impact until it goes away. After googling I got scared by people's stories so swore myself off looking it up!
I have one. Discovered at 8 week appt. It's "small" and considering baby is appropriately growing, OB was rather dismissive of it with the exception of ordering pelvic rest.
This is annoying because I have an increased libido during pregnancy. It's particularly awful because I also have a toddler: It's gut-wrenching when she's pleading for me to pick her up and I can't do it.
TW: I also had a "small bleed" at this stage with my MC in the fall... So it has especially negative associations for me. Whether or not it was a key factor in that MC, I don't know. But I'm going absolutely insane now.
I hate feeling like an invalid. And I can't shake this sense of impending doom. I was hoping to leave this appt with a sense of confidence about this pregnancy but now I'm feeling just the opposite.
@NAP1029 Ugh, I'm sorry you are dealing with this. That all sounds frustrating. I hope as you move along the sense of doom subsides and that the hematoma dissolves on its own--I hope that for all three of you!
I've been dealing with a large SCH for most of this pregnancy. They can be very scary, but apparently the outcomes are generally positive. Lots of water and rest as much as you can, including pelvic rest and avoiding lifting. If they don't resolve before second tri they can cause more serious problems. I have a scan today to see how mine is doing.

Ugh I just found out I have one and by dr dismissed it as very common (she said 1/3 of pregnancies) and didn't give me any restrictions, but now I'm worried after reading this thread... ???
I just had bloodwork done (unrelated) but I'm going to ask again when I talk to them about the bloodwork...

My doctor also didn't give me any restrictions (pelvic rest, lack of exercise, no sex, no lifting) and said not to worry about it AT ALL. I did get another ultrasound and she said it was a bit bigger, but she still wasn't concerned at all. I might call today and ask.
I have one too, they said it's "small". Had a lot of bleeding for a few hours a few weeks ago when I was 7 weeks, but then it stopped. Baby is fine and the ER doctor and my OBGYN didn't seem too concerned. Since then I've been having tan or brown spotting on and off. Going to find out next week at my next ultrasound, hoping for the best!
Not sure if this is anyone's speed, but I got my OB's blessing to try acupressure in an effort to remedy the bleed. My acupuncturist appointment is tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!
