We have one as well and DD will bring it to me and kiss my tummy as I chase baby around for a heartbeat lol. Also felt a solid kick yesterday took me buy surprise. (15+4 today)
I had an appointment yesterday and it took her a while to find the heartbeat because it was much higher than she expected. I found it interesting because I'm only 13 weeks and I thought my uterus was just starting to peek over my pubic bone? Right?
It was a rough morning - I went downstairs and immediately was overcome by a terrible smell. The trash was so rank that the whole first floor was contaminated. So after gagging a few times, I ate my cereal outside on the porch and hid upstairs for awhile. My husband has a really bad cold so I feel selfish asking him to do chores, but I can't function in the kitchen right now! I'm at work now, so I'm hoping he got the point this morning and will take care of whatever god awful smell is emanating from the trash. I did warn him several times that he needed to dispose of some old food and that he was in charge of regularly monitoring the trash after last week's debacle where I threw up for 2 days because of having to take out the trash - he was on a business trip at that point. If I get home and it still smells, it will be time for a (calm cool and collected) sit down conversation. I might even pull out some bar charts, who knows.
@muskratbaby ugh that's the worst. I can't stand strong smells right now. I make DH take care of it all. Sorry but also not sorry. I am pregnant and that's just how smells go.
I so don't want to do my diabetes test tomorrow. I already know I'm going to fail but on the plus side, I have an ultrasound too....so that is what's making me go
@muskratbaby Just awful. Your post made me gag a little.
My doctor's office is killing me with the long appointments. I don't have an ultrasound or anything -just pee in a cup, baby's heartbeat, here's what you will owe us, and I have been here an hour and 10 minutes and have yet to see my doc! Ugh

@cait5413 I totally feel you. I switched to a new OB at 10 weeks because of constant crap like that from my old OB. Twice I sat in a cold exam room in my little paper gown for over an hour, the second time the motion sensor light turned off 25 minutes before she came in. Flailing my arms wasn't turning it back on and I didn't want to hop off the high table in the dark, so I laid back and basically took a nap until she showed up. I didn't like her that much anyways, and her office never answered their phone or returned my calls within the same day, so that day's long, dark wait was the last straw (especially since I'm usually taking time away from work to go to these appointments).
@djd0404 I do like my doc, but the appointments drive me crazy! My appointment was for 8:50 am and I didn't get out til 10:30. It should really have taken 15 minutes, tops.

@cait5413 Ouch. That's a hell of a wait, especially since you had a pretty early morning appt. They're not supposed to be that far behind that early! Hope the rest of your day is uphill from there.
Last appt my husband and I waited 45 minutes. He asked me if that was typical, and I said HELL NO! Next time I'm definitely not showing up the recommended 15 minutes before the actual appt. I'm glad my work schedule is flexible.
@djd0404 that is too funny about the lights going off. I would probably change offices too if that happened.
@GraysonsMama I just ordered a doppler. I finally gave in lol. Dh says it's harmful bc it's electrical... I haven't seen any proof of that in my research tho.

@AMCsquared my DH was against it too, and also thought it would give me more anxiety. But I love it! I just limit my use to two times a week (I have a schedule lol) so that I don't get obsessed with it.
is the internet fucking with us? did it post a sign somewhere that says, "june 14/15 is drive-by post day! get moving! please post random pictures of your uterus to strangers and ask them questions!"

lol. here i am, patting myself on the back for writing what i THINK are relatively nice posts compared to what i'm really thinking in my head, and then i get chastised and blocked by several people. apparently i'm a meanie doodie head.

also is there a way within settings to disable the GIFs that are in people's signatures? i'm getting tired of seeing the same thing over and overrrrrr. plus it clogs up the text and makes it annoying to read.

@AMCSquared - in the top right corner is the outline of a little person. Click it > preferences > signature settings > there is a check box that says "hide signatures always". That will hide all signatures.

Ahh I feel like I've missed so much the past few weeks, I haven't been on much it has been a little busy and stressfull at my house! We've had some work done on the house that didn't exactly go as planned ...blah I don't want to get into it. The good news is my 30th bday is next Thursday and we are spending the weekend on the beach! And the following Thursday I scheduled an US to find out the sex. I. Can't. Freaking. Wait.!!

Haha thanks @kater622. It would only happen if I share what I'm really thinking, lol. I think I was hungry though - I just got an awesome pate of cheese, crackers and hummus, and I'm feeling much better.

Speaking of gender, I just read an article that said my state (Oregon) is the first to offer a third gender option on state IDs (starting July 3rd--'X' meaning 'unspecified'). Is this going to be the next thing that conservative states fight against (i.e. gay marriage, public bathrooms)?
@MJDsquared yes because it obviously affects them if someone else doesn't identify their gender on a legal document. *insert eye roll. I'm actually confused why your gender needs to be on your license anyway.
I got my home doppler! I felt so happy and relieved to hear it. I have to admit it's hard to find the hb tho bc I tried doing it again when my husband got home and could not find it again

We have a doppler and with my first kid I had to learn that it's down SUPER low. Like, right around the pubic area and not the belly. Also, move the doppler at different angles. With some practice you'll get it super easy but it takes a ton of practice!
I changed my username because stalkers.... I'll change my picture in a couple weeks. Sorry I haven't been more active, between having family in town, Syd being more active and on the move, and me not feeling good, things have been rough. I've also had a few sewing projects going on (i.e. an entire competition dress i did start to finish in 2 weeks....), so thats been consuming a lot of my free time once baby is in bed.
