Except for the occasional accident because of busyness or new places, DD is pretty much potty trained!!! Going to enjoy these next 5 months of no diapers before it's on to the next kid.
I'm caught up on laundry guys!!! Like no towels, blankets, bath mats, undies, socks.... nothing!!!!! Feels so good until this weekend when it starts all over
Today is graduation! Despite the fact that I actually have to work at it (conducting the band and choir), it's one of my favorite days of the whole year because I love celebrating my students' accomplishments.
Last night was a double win -- I felt the first strong kicks after doing Bradley exercises at our birth class, and DH was right next to me so I grabbed his hand and put it on my belly and he felt one too! I hope I never forget the way he looked when he felt it. I'm so happy we got to experience it together, even if we made a scene and the whole class had to stop for like 10 minutes while we just sat there with DH's hands on my stomach
I've been in super nesting mode since the weekend. I brought up all of DD's baby clothes from the basement, sorted everything, and washed all of the newborn-3 month stuff. I also got a load of newborn clothes from my friend that were barely worn. I've got so much stuff! And packages of baby things that I started ordering last week are starting to arrive. I'm all of a sudden super anxious/excited for October!
October 2017 June Siggy Challenge -- "You Had One Job!"
I just had a phone conversation with our union president about the various types of leave I'm entitled to, and surprisingly it's actually a much better scenario than I originally thought. Hooray!
@soprano19 I talked to HR about maternity leave on Friday, and it was WAY better than I thought! I was under the impression I had to use all my sick days before any kind of short term disability kicked in. Apparently I only have to use 5 days and then it kicks in and is a really great plan. I'll easily be able to stay out until after Thanksgiving now. I'm glad you got good news too!!!
@JessDG I will have to use all my sick days, but first I get two "freebie" weeks starting from whenever the doctor says I can't continue working, which hopefully won't be until the actual birth. Then I use my sick time, which should take me through Thanksgiving. Then I can use short-term "pregnancy disability leave" for however long my doctor recommends, usually 6-8 weeks, which would be differential pay. We also have the option of using up to 12 weeks of child bonding leave, which is also differential pay.
This all adds up to more time than I actually even wanted to be out... I'm planning/hoping to be out all of October, November, and December and go back in January, since spring is festival and fundraising season. But it's awesome to know I have some flexibility!
@mrs_fogue congrats! I really need to buckle down on the potty training.
@sjohns908 I'm so jealous. Enjoy! I bet Parena knows I live ridiculously close to one so they would never give me that promo because I would go every day lol
@sjohns908 I had that in April! It was so nice. I went a couple times a week. Enjoy!
My trophy - I got all the hand me downs in sizes NB-3 months all washed and folded. Now we just have to move furniture around and get things organized for LO, once DH is out of school on the 26th. I'll probably wash all the 6-12 month stuff this week and put in bins. Still have 4 bins of DD's clothes to go through for anything gender neutral but everything is coming along nicely!
Bonus trophy - it's a warm, sunny day and DD is going to my parents for an overnight! So excited for a break!
I did some online shopping and stuffed up the address to my old work place that used to be default. I tried to track it down and had almost given up hope. My package arrived today to my new work place! Yay! So hopefully I have some new outfits to wear soon.
@bluejeanbabi05 I have no idea, but I'm so damn stoked because it feels like I won something and I never win! Lol
Not that I'll manage to go very often since it's summer break and I don't feel like hauling all 3 of my kids into Panera for a free bagel. And then in turn end up buying them all something. Or maybe they know that would happen and that's why I got it.....
I just told my boss that I'm pregnant and the conversation went really well. He's excited for me. HUGE weight off my shoulders. I thought he'd be cool, but I'm still relatively new and we run pretty lean here, so I was stressed about the conversation. I CAN FINALLY LET MY BELLY HANG OUT!

Honestly, the hardest part will be finding a music-specialized long-term sub, and once I find one, actually handing over control of my classes!
@jessirh That looks so much more expensive.
