How far along are you & how big is baby? 30 weeks about the size of a personal pan pizza
Upcoming appointments? Last week, everything looks good so far!
Symptoms? This heartburn/reflux is so much worse already this time. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to eat at all toward the end.
Cravings? Back to the fruit
Rants/Raves/Questions? Any heartburn tips??
GTKY: What's the most silly/irrational thing you've gotten upset about this pregnancy? I got it in my head that I'd come up with a fun/cute way to count down the days until DH comes home for DD and because we don't have a return date I don't want to set anything up. I stood in the craft isle almost crying because I couldn't think of anything to do. Which I realize is especially silly because she's 3, she doesn't care lol
@Nxy I've seen a really cute idea where you put Hershey's kisses in a jar and kiddo gets a kiss goodnight from the deployed parent each night. You could still do that without an exact date and add or take away candy as you find out more.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 30 weeks and a cantaloupe (the most disgusting part of every fruit salad)
Upcoming appointments? Tuesday!
Symptoms? Tired and heartburn. I think I got a hot flash at the end of a movie last night--my husband said it was normal temperature and was still in a jacket while I was roasting.
Cravings? Sugary breakfast foods
Rants/Raves/Questions? I wish I had finished some project before because I'm so tired now, I don't think they'll get done.
GTKY: What's the most silly/irrational thing you've gotten upset about this pregnancy? I cried because we couldn't find my dog's chuckit ball. It's still somewhere in the backyard, but I thought I needed a break from looking lol.
@Nxy I just have the typical heartburn advice--avoid coffee and anything else too acidic like tomatoes. Chocolate and other sweets can cause heartburn, too. I've found eating smaller meals helps.
Cravings? I still eat all the Carbs. Every day. They usually stay down.
Rants/Raves/Questions? DH's best friend of 20+ years passed away this week (cancer). I want to go his funeral, but it's a 3 hour drive, and I'm not sure I can do that. I may just attend the visitation (only 45 mins away), and not the actual service. DH won't want to drive alone, but I may suggest he carpool with his brother instead.
GTKY: What's the most silly/irrational thing you've gotten upset about this pregnancy? Nothing specific. I'm really bitchy when I'm hungry. I get Hangry AF.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 30 weeks - a platypus
Upcoming appointments? Have one coming up on Thursday.
Symptoms? Just getting tired quicker & I think indigestion is starting to make an appearance.
Cravings? We've been on our "babymoon" the last few days and I'm loving having a huge breakfast with everything! OJ, eggs, pancakes, homefries - I want it all!
Rants/Raves/Questions? We have been walking a ton the last few days! I haven't gotten even close to 10,000 steps on my fit bit for months and we passed that everyday. Sore at the end of the day but been doing well so far!
GTKY: What's the most silly/irrational thing you've gotten upset about this pregnancy? Figuring out dinner somedays. Somedays I just don't want to decided what to eat. Haha
Me: 37 DH: 37 - Married 10.2015 ❤️ Canadian DX: Endometriosis - Stage 4, DOR, RPL
Have one on Friday! After this appointment we start going every two weeks!
Symptoms?
Heartburn! And now swelling. Which is zero fun.
Cravings?
None.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
I hate how mich maternity clothes cost. They are never on sale, they don't have much selection, and the fact that you only wear them for a few months makes it silly to me to spend a fortune on them.
I'm thankful I SAH, because I can't imagine having to try to get a closet full of office wear while pregnant. Ridiculous!
Ross is my favorite. It's the ONLY place I've found that has decent priced maternity clothing. Limited selection, but it changes out every few weeks.
GTKY: What's the most silly/irrational thing you've gotten upset about this pregnancy?
I *think* I've done pretty well this pregnancy...I can't think of anything irrational, but my husband might answer this one differently for me! Lol!
@SouthernMama15 that's an awesome idea! I still can't tell you why my brain was like you can't do that if you don't have a date, you won't know how much to put in.. SHE'S 3 BRAIN SHE CAN'T COUNT
@SpotConlon even when I wake up in the morning on an empty stomach I can hardly eat it's so bad. I try breads and foods that should soak up so to speak but it's all giving me trouble. Maybe I'll talk to my doc about taking the zantac twice a day? They say heartburn means hair right?? This kid better come out looking like fricken Fabio..
How far along are you & how big is baby? 28 Weeks. He's an eggplant.
Upcoming appointments? Tuesday. I have my GD test. No fasting since its in the evening so I was told to just have a protein heavy day beforehand.
Symptoms? Acid reflux is getting bad. I keep thinking I'm Ok and then my chest is on fire. My crotch also feels like someone kicked it.
Cravings? Food. All the food.
Rants/Raves/Questions? We finally got something for the nursery! Got a upholstered rocker that was a mistake order for about 50% off retail at buybuybaby.
GTKY: What's the most silly/irrational thing you've gotten upset about this pregnancy?
I've been a weird stoic emotional void rock this pregnancy. So nothing crazy irrational that I can recall. (Which is odd af because I'm usually so emotional that I cry during commercials.)
Together: January 2002 Married: May 2008 Baby: August 2017
Clearly we like to rush along at lightning speed...
How far along are you & how big is baby? 28 weeks - eggplant
Upcoming appointments? I had one on Friday and go back in 2 weeks. I'll take the 3 hour GTT this week.
Symptoms? I'm feeling pretty good. My biggest complaint is the lower back pain/sciatica that acts up when I'm walking from time to time. I'm just glad it doesn't happen all of the time.
Cravings? Still fruit and chocolate.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I met the doctor who's supposed to do my c-section for the first time at my appointment on Friday. He's really nice and I felt very comfortable with him. I have several appointments scheduled with him going forward.
GTKY: What's the most silly/irrational thing you've gotten upset about this pregnancy? I think I've only had 2 meltdowns so far and both involved food. They were due to a combination of not feeling well, being hungry which made me feel worse and delaying making plans to go eat. I definitely had similar crying episodes with my other pregnancies. It's completely irrational, but I'm obviously hormonal when I'm starving and not feeling great.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 29 weeks and a pineapple
Upcoming appointments? This Tuesday, 6/6.
Symptoms? Lower back pain
Cravings? Brusters ice cream
Rants/Raves/Questions? Got new furniture for our room and finally we have a king size bed that is low profile so getting up on the middle of the nigh to pee isn't difficult anymore. Oh thank you!
GTKY: What's the most silly/irrational thing you've gotten upset about this pregnancy? My birthday back in May my family had a dinner for me and there was no food I could or would eat. I remember saying - "wow it's my birthday and the food is for everyone but me!" So I made salad and wallowed in my food issue sorrows hahaha!
@Nxy You haven't started Zantac yet?! You're a freaking rockstar. I would die without mine.
I forgot mine at home one day (forgot my Tums, too) and the heartburn was so bad my inner ears were itchy. So freaking terrible!
Also, if I don't take a Zantac and 2 Tums before bed, I'll wake up choking on acid reflux. So gross and so painful.
Unfortunately, I'm getting to a point where two Zantac a day isn't enough and I could really use a 3rd. I have to time them just right. If I take the first one anytime before 2, I have heartburn by 7, by 7 is too early to take another's one, because I need it before bed around 9 in order to not wake up with heartburn in the middle of the night.
I'll be talking to my doctor about a stronger option.
I avoid everything that would trigger it usually (coffee, sugar, etc.) but I can drink water and get it, so I'm going to wave my white flag and admit defeat. Lol!
@Nxy My heartburn has been manageable with this pregnancy and my second, but I had awful heartburn for the first half of my pregnancy with DS1. Everything, even water, caused heartburn. Zantac helped tremendously. I took it twice per day. I hope you find relief soon.
Oh noooo @AdvoCyndi30 I'm on the zantac but one tab once a day and that's not working anymore. It's the German equivilant to zantac so I don't want to assume two is fine so I'll have to call and ask. My doctor keeps telling me not to take tums because "they don't work for pregnancy" while I suppose he's right in the sense that tums alone aren't going to stop the reflux BUT they make living slightly more comfortable soo..
@MetsGirl18 I just told DH my heartburn is caused by breathing right now. You give me hope that the extra zantac should help!
@Nxy interesting he says Tums don't work. They are my lifesavers at night when I wake up with heartburn (including burping up acid like @AdvoCyndi30). Zantac is my go to during the day but I can't do without those Tums. Anything you need is to ship you from the US?

@bumpybump he means tums only treat the symptoms of the heartburn/reflux not the cause. Germans are really strange about medicine. You're so sweet though!!! I can grab regular zantac on base if he won't up the dosage of whatever he's got me on. And I'll be adding tums toward the end of this because it's only going to get worse as baby gets bigger.
