I asked my SIL to watch my girls while I ran errands this morning. So she said she'd take them to the zoo. First stop....nail salon to get a mani and pedi!
  • @zamora_spin, I kinda love you for that.

  • Also have never bought a maternity coat. Just seemed like a waste.

The grackles must have recently fledged and now my feeders are full of them. I just want to pull out my BB gun. They keeps scaring away all of the nice birds on top of wasting feed.

  • This summer may compete with last summer for my worst-dressed ever. I had my daughter last June and wore a mixed mess of maternity & other baggy clothes all summer.
This summer may be similar but worse, if it's too soon (and too short a season) to buy maternity clothes but my other clothes don't fit!
I guess it's a dilemma you face when your due dates are in completely opposite seasons : )
  • @emmaleigh05 My last pregnancy I just wore my current coat which had snap buttons and just buttoned the one right  above my bump, or I worse my DH's coat for a while as well. I was due in March and was not going to buy a winter coat. I plan to do the same thing this time around. Plus, it also got me out of shoveling because I did not have a coat that covered the bump :)

  • @GraceUponGrace09 but seriously who does? Cold water rushing over my hands at 2 in the morning...I would never go back to sleep!!!
  • I had sushi last weekend @BelhurstBride - It was amazing as always.

@emmaleigh05 - I feel you.  I plan on either wearing the one I already have and just not butting it up all the way down or maybe making on of those blanket coats I've seen on pinterest using one of the seemingly millions of fleece blankets I already own.

I might fire my OB and find a new one.  I'm really not looking forward to getting released back to her (or her office) after my (hopefully) last u/s with the RE next week.

FFFC: At one point I said I never wanted another child, because... potty training.

I am reminded of this tonight as we have a glorious water gun fight outside and I watch a human turd fall on the ground. :(

  • Maybe this is an UO but I love having a maternity coat, I do a lot of walking and it always fits perfectly over a wrapped/worn baby postpartum!

  • @KatieEl, wrapping it around a worn baby may be a point I need to consider. I walk DD1 to school each day. With DD2 I just put her in a Patagonia fleece suit and wrapped a blanket around the Ergo, but she was 4 months old by the time winter hit.

@BelhurstBride DS1 and DS2 were both winter babies and I was carless with the first, so I did a lot of outdoor walking. I bought my coat for full price, but I wish I hadn't because I always see practically new ones at consignment stores and on eBay, so you could definitely find one pretty cheap!

  • @KatieEl you reminded me that I won't just need a coat to make it to birth, I probably will need it for a while afterwards too with postpartum weight : (
  • I got my maternity coat in a local bst for $10.   It was hands down the best purchase Ive ever made.  It was perfect to keep number three nice and warm when we went to the tree farm and she was a month old.
  • @Lizbeth86 that's not necessarily true :) I was lucky with DD and the weight fell off in days. Do I expect that this time? No, but it does happen sometimes!

@Lizbeth86 @EmilyLove25 yes! the weight fell off me with DS1, but I didn't get rid of it quickly with DS2 for love or money.  Here's hoping little bean takes after his/her oldest brother lol.

@jakobaby DS1 had ice cream for lunch on Monday; no shame lol!

  • @BelhurstBride we have an insane Grackle population at our place.  DH bought me a bb gun a few weeks ago and we've had fun shooting them out the kitchen window.  Thankfully we don't have any neighbors behind us.
