okay! selfishly i had to get this going to complain that i have PINK EYE. wahhhhhhh !!!!!! a few days ago i thought i had a mondo case of food poisoning which was horrific and now this. has anyone had pink eye while pregnant? i have polysporin pink eye drops but i'm hesitant to take them till i get the okay from my midwife. just laying here at 6:30am, rotating warm tea compresses on my eye. wahhhh.
@whatwiIlanndo I had it around week 5-7. Not a fun experience I was so early I didn't want to take any medicine but I did take regular saline eye drops that seemed to make it a little more manageable until it cleared up on its own.
Our second vehicle needs about $3000 worth of work. We rarely drive it and it's sooooo old with super high mileage. The idea of having only one vehicle when LO comes worries me. DH and I work at the same place but it's over an hr from home (and daycare) and I will be working from home a day a week. I really feel like we need a second, cheap, but reliable vehicle. So was not prepared for this addes expense. Don't wannnna do it or go car shopping. It stressed me the F out.
@jess0211 That's quite the blow. Are you going to keep commuting?
I have a herniated disc that has been behaving lately, but tossing and turning means I keep pinching a nerve in my neck. It's more annoying than painful, but now the nerves are misfiring in BOTH of my legs. Imagine spiders crawling down your thighs. That's what it feels like. I used to get injections in my back, but can't now. Just saw the chiro on Tuesday and heading back today for some massage and light adjustment.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
You should be okay using your drops. A few weeks back, I scratched my cornea and was prescribed an antibiotic drop. Doctor said it's topical and not ingested so it shouldn't affect the baby at all.
@whatwillanndo it wasn't while I was pregnant, but I had pink eye somewhat recently. It was viral and apparently the tail end of my cold so really there was nothing I could do but wait. The dr did give me an ointment that I used just to help with symptoms. Hope you feel better soon!!
@jess0211 ouch! I hate when big expenses creep up on you! We are planning to buy a new car at the end of this month and I still am cringing at the thought of it!
@DuchessOfCambridge mine have greatly eased up since about 16w (about the same time my nausea ended) hopefully yours calm down!!
My gripe today is potty training. DS half-assed wants to potty train. He doesn't want diapers but refuses to poop in the potty, he also like sitting on the potty but hasn't quite coorelated the urge to pee with going. So we're on a timer of "trying" every 15 minutes. And of course his desire to start potty training comes when I just got 300 size 4 diapers delivered this week.
Honestly I don't know if he wants to potty train or if he just likes underwear because he can grab himself easier. He keeps running up to me saying "this my penis, this my butt." And giggling.
@whatwillanndo boo! Sorry about that! DD had it w/in the last 6 months and I swear I lost count of how many times I washed my hands in an hour... pink eye = super not fun! @jess0211 creepy internet hugs... car shopping is the worst. I just want to sleep. But I can't. Because I keep waking up and finding myself on my back, even with pillows and it's terrifying me... I don't have insomnia. I just can't manage to stay off my back so I'm afraid to sleep.

@zigzag8412 I wake up on my back, too. I've heard that as long as you roll back over when you wake up, it's fine. Supposedly you will get uncomfortable far before baby does.

All this. I always wake on my back. But you will get uncomfortable (tingly arms/legs/short of breath) before anything bad happens to baby.
That is excellent to hear about the back thing. I make an effort to stay on my side and I wake up on my back every morning. What's ironic is that I always slept on my side prior to pregnancy so I don't know why I'm suddenly on my back.
I just got my 1st of 20 injections to keep baby in. The shot itself didn't hurt but it burns now. 19 more weeks of driving across town to the doctors office makes me want to cry a little.
@BayCamp If you can have him play in the backyard with no diaper or underware. When he pees he will see it happening not only feel it. You'll be outside so the mess isn't as annoying. That really helped both my boys connect the urge to pee with what was happening.
I get not wanting the mess inside!
Another trick my friend taught me is that when you are further on in potty training and your LO will be wearing underware put a pullup on overtop so you don't end up with an accident in the carseat.
To everyone afraid of waking up on your backs.... if you are worried and can't help but sleep on your back you could always try putting something under your sheet so you can't lay flat on your back. When I was very pregnant with DD2 I got so lightheaded every time I was on my back, even for just the checks at appointments and fetal Doppler so I ended up rolling a towel up and placing it under one side of me so I was slightly tilted to keep any compression at bay. It worked wonders
@2Dash he spends a lot of naked time outside. It's just like he doesn't care about having wet underwear or accidents. I really don't know if he's ready or not but I'll keep following his cues until we get it figured out.
@BayCamp It is a fun process! My DS2 had been potty trained for a year and the other day peed on my couch because he didn't want to miss any of the cartoon!
I feel like all I'm doing is bitching today. The almost 2yo I babysit just did this to DS, and scratched him on the face hard enough to break skin for the second time in a week. I finally texted his mom that I quit. I was planning on quitting today but giving her a month to find a daycare. I just told her no more after today after this bite. It's the FOURTH good bite he's given him.
@av2323 +1 to being a side sleeper pre pregnancy. am+mommy I try to keep the pillows under me but I haven't felt dizzy yet so there's at least that. @BayCamp Omgosh that's horrible! Kuddos to you for being so patient. I hope this brings a lot of stress relief for you!

@BayCamp OMG, good for you. You can't allow that kind of abuse... that is a serious bite! I hope the Mom learns how to raise nice kids before it's too late.
Thank you everyone. I felt really bad about leaving her in a tough spot. But they have a lot of local family and her older sons (12 and 13) are home all day during the summer so hopefully she can make it work until finding a daycare. I'm a super patient person but even I have my breaking point and that bite was it.
@BayCamp I mean, you said you talked to her about it before and she basically brushed you off. So I hope it's not a super shock to her...because it shouldn't be.
@ooodalollly funny you say that. I thought I was pretty clear in my message to her but after his dad said that (and the fact they didn't pay me for this week) I'm not so sure. I'll be interested to see what happens Monday morning.
@BayCamp Maybe now YS will be able to focus on potty training now instead of trying to avoid bites and scratches. Poor kid! Good for you for quitting. I wonder if his mom will respond now.

@baycamp they are in for rude awakening when they get him in a daycare...you were way more patient and forgiving than any other place will be! I would have lost it long ago so good on your for trying to help but knowing your limits!
A friend just tagged me in a FB for sale post where this lady has a NICE stash of Fuzzibunz CDs that look like they are barley used, 32 for $100 dollars. I just can't this week because it is the first of the month. I am so emotional over this. I told her if they did not sell by next Friday I would take them but it such an awesome deal I just don't think they will last that long I am so sad...
