@jess0211 I know everyone is different when it comes to breastfeeding but I never had to pump to relieve pain, especially in the beginning. Baby eats so frequently that my body didn't really overproduce. I mean there were a couple of days right after my milk came in that I was full and uncomfortable but I was able to just express some in the shower by hand and it was fine. I think I only did that once just to relieve some pressure.
This. Well, actually I would say that I was uncomfortable, but hand expressing worked just fine. I've also had oversupply in the beginning with each baby, so pumping would have been a bad idea for me - would have made that worse. Not everyone finds themselves in that boat, but you won't really know until then.
@kaitieb14 I had them the whole way through and have felt them since about 12 weeks this time. I don't feel them often but after sex, or if I have been walking a ton I will feel one. Some people never feel them, some people like me notice tons of them. It's not an issue unless they are at regular intervals. Definitely bring it up to your doctor though if it worries you at all!

This makes me feel better for sure. I'm 15+2 and having them a couple times a day and it was making me nervous!
@DuchessOfCambridge I had a huge stash with DS1 which I had to dump most of because I found out way too late I had excess lipase in my milk which meant it tasted funny and DS rejected it. When I froze my milk I had to scald it first so the fat in the milk (which makes it taste sweet) wouldn't be broken down. With DS2 I also had excess lipase in my milk so I pumped some in the first month (but never more than 20 ounces in the freezer at a time). my first day back at work I sent frozen milk and then the next day I just sent what I pumped the day before. This was great because it kept my milk supply closely tied to what baby needed-- so if I didn't pump quite as much as LO was eating he would eat a lot more that night and then boost my supply back up to the level he needed. Also your milk will adjust to have exactly what baby needs at that developmental stage so the more fresh milk you can give them, the better. Also checked out paced bottle feeding for tips on how to bottlefeed a breastfed baby so they aren't overfed. There are ways to do it that more closely mimic how a baby feeds at the breast.
@jess0211bi bought a breastfeeding book but I bought a million other pregnancy books too my first time around, so I never got to read it. I just use Kelly mom.com for any questions, as others have suggested too.
A woman at work is selling this travel crib plus sheets for $100. Anyone ever tried this before and think it's worth the money? We will be traveling with the baby to see family quite a bit but are also registering for a pack and play, not sure if that serves the same purpose?

Pack n play serves the exact same purpose. That's what we use for traveling. Edited to add: That does look pretty cool though. I would go with one or the other.
How do you know if you have excess lipase in your milk? I've heard it mentioned from several of you. Is it something that's tested for, or do you find out if your baby rejects frozen milk?

@car1a I began to question when baby would take a freshly expressed bottle but refused anything from the freezer. Tasted the freezer milk and it tasted like half milk half soap oddly enough, some babies don't mind it. My 2nd drank freezer milk that tasted terrible to me. Most of the time I scalded it anyway, just because I was worried he'd eventually change his mind. If it's something you're concerned about, I'd just freeze 1-2 ounces from your first pumping sessions and test it a few days later. You'll know
STMs who've had hemorrhoids, how long after giving birth did it take for them to disappear? (I know they can heal during pregnancy, but I've heard it's usually unlikely) this is my first go-around with them.
How do you clean a stroller? I projectile vomited ALL OVER the stroller this morning. Mostly on the top cover and into the basket but also some of it got on the outside down the back on the seat. I wiped with baby wipes at the time because it's all I had. I then tried lysol wipes but I swear to god I can still smell it. The baby and her stroller are with her biomom right now but I know I need to find a way to get rid of the smell.
ETA: In case anybody is wondering, the cover was open so thank goodness FD was spared vomit on her head.
@bcashaw I took mine to the car wash and sprayed it down with the power washer! Good as new after.
@MississippiCatfish I got the mm at the end of my last pregnancy and made them so so so much worse during labor. oMG they were terrible! They got better within a couple of months after that but have come back much sooner this time. They're not horrible but I can feel them especially if I strain myself. Lol wow that sounded like a little TMI to type out!
I'm 19+3 and yesterday and today I've had (very mild and irregular) cramping with increased CM presence. There isn't any irregular color to the CM (it's milky/whiteish) and I'm sure the cramping is just my uterus stretching as baby grows, but I'd love to have some STM+ tell me they agree so that my poor little emotionally exhausted brain can chill... I did deal with a good amount of stressors yesterday and feel like my tolerance to handle stress had decreased.

Chill out, poor little emotionally exhausted brain! Cramping and CM are totally normal - especially if you've been stressed or overdoing it. Sit on the couch, drink lots of water, and take an evening for yourself and your relaxation.

@zigzag8412 I am 17 weeks today so I was checking out all of my apps weekly update and they all say that the two most obvious symptoms at the stage is increased vaginal discharge and round ligament pain. All is normal!
I wanted to get my friend's baby a present and I went with a Wubbanub Hippo that was still on her registry...but then another friend told me they're a hazard. Anyone have experience with Wubbanup pacifiers?

I *think* suffocation as it'd be considered a stuffed animal. I have no idea though. I know a lot of moms loved them for their babies.
@ElizabethSchuyler I'm tempted to give it to her anyway since it was on her registry and she's an RN who has worked in L&D before too...I feel like she's got a good handle on things. I'll add a gift receipt.
@DuchessOfCambridge I would go for it, especially since it's on her registry. My sister has ~3 of those and has used them with 2 LOs. I was just with her 4mo who was using a monkey one, and I agree that it seems to have a hazard level of a stuffed toy. Both of her children haven't been very into pacifiers, so perhaps it's more of a concern for kids who would use them unsupervised more often. They're cute!
I'm starting to get sort of uncomfortable at night. I turn from side to side a lot, so I bought a doublesided pregnancy pillow (it's like a u-shape with the open end at the bottom), but I feel like it squishes my already tender boobs up and by the time I pull it out near my boobs and tuck it a little under my belly for support, I'm more awake and then have more trouble falling back asleep. This is so dumb, but am I using the pregnancy pillow wrong? Is there a wrong? Is there something else I should try?
@SweetMelissa4 I'm uncomfortable at night too. I have one of those c-shaped pillows and I actually prefer sleeping on the side with the c instead of the side with the full pillow (if that makes sense). My top half is left alone, and I can tuck the end of the c under my bump and it helps a lot. Just my personal experience! For this reason I mostly sleep on my left side.
@SweetMelissa4 I just ordered the pillow @DuchessOfCambridge linked to (though with prime shipping) as sleeping is becoming very difficult for me lately.
@DuchessOfCambridge - so dumb, again. I LOVE my existing pillows, so I've been piling one or two on top of the pregnancy pillow. Do you do that or do you use the preg pillow as your main head pillow as well?
(I also just looked at that link, and I'm tall so it wouldn't provide any of the under-bump support I need)
@sweetmelissa4 I use my normal pillow on top of it, I found the preg pillow itself to be too firm and it was giving me migraines. Adding my normal pillow helped a lot. If it helps with the tall issue, I put the pillow in between my legs.
@SweetMelissa4 I'm 5'9" and I have this one. The pillow ends below my calf. I like it because I can turn over at night without having to bring the pillow over to the other side. I know others have said they would get too hot with this one. I haven't had that issue, but I get why that would be a concern. Anyway, just an option. Sorry for the ugly link. Mobile and it won't let me link it in.
@DuchessOfCambridge DS3 doesn't really use a pacifier but he loves his wubbanub. I would still give it to her. @SweetMelissa4 that and the heat factor is why I am not a fan of pregnancy pillows. I sleep with my head on a regular pillow and I use a body pillow for between my legs and bump support. I do have to bring it with me when I roll over, but I tend to sleep in one position so it doesn't really bother me.

That's what I did in my first three pregnancies. And really, it's still even cheaper to even buy 2 body pillows than a pregnancy pillow, if you're a frequent flipper. I just happened to find a deal this time!
I'm going to be a STM but I am having trouble with my 16 month old son hitting. When he is told no for any reason he will either swat at the person who told him no or he will hit whatever he is near (toys, furniture, the floor, etc) Any other time he is a very happy, sweet boy. I am afraid if I don't put a stop to it soon he will hurt his baby sister when she gets here. Does anyone have any experience with this or advise.
