Re: TWW Wednesday 5/31

  • @SkilledSailor You are a rockstar for packing all that into your carry on. I hate checking luggage, but am also a terrible over packer. Mad props to you!

    Month/Cycle: 5 total, 1 AL

CD/DPO: 31/16 (I guessed I ovulated on the 15th because of the EWCM, but now I'm not so sure...)

Timing: We are TTA, but had one slip up at CD15.

Testing: I'be been testing because no AF and because I'm drinking, but all BFNs so far.

R/R: Oof, a couple of FB announcements from friends of mine, and one from a girl who was one of my students a few years back, all due the same month I was supposed to be due. It's rough.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go?
Ever since I was a kid I've wanted to live on Pern, the setting for Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders series :)

  • @hedgepig It really is just because maxis and rompers are full outfits. And it's summer so all the fabric is thin. I doubt I could do this for a winter trip. And I'm sorry about all of the FB announcements this week. I can't even imagine how that must feel.
  • Month/Cycle: 1/1 AL

    CD/DPO: 30/13

    Timing: all the days

    Testing: Saturday morning

R/R: still gloomy over here, wtf

    CS/Q: no

  • @doxiemoxie212 Sorry it's still gloomy there!

@lund Ouch to everything in your R/R ! That literally made me cringe. Also, love Downton Abbey!
  • Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD/DPO: 22/9

    Timing: -5, -4, -2, -1, +1

Testing: Starting to rationalize doing it ASAP. AF due either Sunday or Monday (13 and 14 DPO). I would prefer to test on Sunday so that if it’s a BFP then we have all day to celebrate unlike Monday in which DH will be at work all day. I also just don’t want to see a BFN lol

R/R: TW friends funeral is today. We went to his visitation yesterday and, since we went during the day session, there weren’t a lot of people there so we got to talk to his wife and family a lot and hear fun stories that we didn’t know about him. Some of those stories were very inspirational too. /TW Still having some weird pain on my side and has moved over to the other side as well as a constipated feeling (not constipated). If AF shows up, I’m going to probably go see the doctor to make sure it’s nothing serious. It’s gotten better but it’s still there.

    CS/Q:

GTKY:  I was going to say Hogwarts like most people but then @lund gave me the idea of going into one of the non-fiction British historical shows like Victoria, The Crown or The White Queen/Princess. Those places are real but I’d love to be in Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle. LOL

@skilledsailor – drink til it’s pink? I don’t think the placenta takes over until like week 6 - 8 or something so you’re not sharing blood until then…? (someone can correct me if I’m wrong) I could be wrong but I would go for it and not worry. TW? I know plenty of people who drank very early pregnancy (like before a missed AF) and their kids came out fine. /TW

@hedgepig – sorry about all the FB announcements. Sounds like you O’d later then you thought.

@doxiemoxie212 – sorry about the gloomy weather.

@lund – ooo ouch. I hope your lady parts feel better soon.

@lund Yeah, I was just doing IF/Testing at first, but my first treatment cycle got delayed for what turned into months. I'm planning on going back, but yeah I agree--it can be so intense in there and I don't mind the dailies like some IF'ers. Sometimes when I'm in there I feel small time next to these awesome ladies who know so much about IVF etc and I'm like waiting for my meager first IUI with Clomid to start lol, which seems like a lot in the dailies but next to most people in there feels like a heap of nothing.

That's a good idea about adirat. I'll PM her since I know she isn't loving the dailies.

    CD/DPO: 27/5

    Timing: -4 -3 -2 O

Testing: next Wednesday - I have all day meetings that day and do not want to be blindsided by AF mid-meeting

R/R: Rant: I've got hives. they started over the weekend (thankgoodness, or else I'd be symptom spotting all over the place!) and it goes up my neck on each side and around my ears. I'm slathering on hydrocortisone, but it's so itchy! RAVE: Might have a new (used) dresser option that we are going to consider buying this weekend. We've been married 2.5 years and still have 4 different styles among our dressers and nightstands.

CS/Q: no, just giving my chart serious side-eye this morning.

GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? Narnia! first book series I ever fell in love with!

@skilledsailor - nice work on the bags! I get O pain as well, but until temping and taking OPKs, I didn't know when it was occuring in the O process. It can start a couple days before, or that day, or even the day after. FWIW, I'd enjoy the wine and not worry about testing until you get back.

@hedgepig - that's so rough with the FB announcements. sending you hugs to get through this month <3

@doxiemoxie212 - I'll take your gloominess and send you some humidity and sunshine, deal?

@lund - omg that sounds terrible, hope your whole situation calms down asap LOL

@justkeepswimming8 - that sounds like a really nice rememberance of your friend :) I would probably go for the Sunday test myself because I'd rather have some space to handle the BFN at home.

@vflux33 - this is an interesting rabbit hole and I anticipate spending my lunch break digging in. It is SO SO SO hard to wade through the millions of forum threads to try and find data. I've still got my fingers crossed for you guys.

  • @justkeepswimming8 Your reasoning for testing on Sunday makes sense to me. I'm such an enabler though. Also, good to know about the placenta stuff. I should really read those TTC books my midwife recommended. *TW?* She also said I could have a mimosa or glass of wine even if I was a couple weeks KU so it's probably ok * END TW?*
Also RE: your pain. Do you have cysts or anything? I pretty much always have a dull pain/pressure during my TWW when I'm not on birth control that doctors are currently just assuming is related to my cysts. Definitely worth speaking to your doctor about.
Also, I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like you were able to have good healing time with his wife.

@vflux33 Whoops! I clearly didn't lurk quite hard enough. I am no help on the late ovulation front. Are you starting your IUI and Chlomid next cycle if this one doesn't work out?
    vflux33
  • @elisek  and all others who gave advice. Thanks ladies! I'm not even going to pack a test. Finger crossed that keeps my crazy at bay and I just enjoy the trip.

@Avrilmai We leave tomorrow afternoon and land in Milan Friday morning.

@vflux33 That's exciting! Stinks she holding out on the checking your tubes.

Thanks for chiming in @adirat! I was finding a lot of things that made me suspect more comorbidity than anything directly causing issues.

and @vflux33 - i totally agree. CD22 is barely late. Of course waiting around is not my favorite, but it's not the same as you lovely ladies who are in mystery-land for weeks. I just love a good rabbit hole!

    Timing: -1 and 0

Testing: Trying to hold out until AF is late

R/R: TW?  I really have my hopes up this cycle.  I started using an OPK, and our timing was really good. /TW?

    CS/Q:

GTKY: I would have to say Anita Blake's St. Louis.  The series is written by Laurell K. Hamilton.  Supernatural steamy romance.

@lund Holy Cow! Hope your undercarriage heals up soon.
@vflux33 I don't know anything about the late O and KU correlation.  Hmm.
    vflux33lundcatlady1215
  • @adirat as always, your insight and knowledge is much appreciated. I'm one of those people with O on different days depending on the ovary.  CD9 or CD 17-19 depending on the ovary. It is nice to know I'm not a "rare case"

@SesshomaruMom TW not necessary for that R/R. GL to you!

@kiki75 so sorry you're having a rough time <3 I think most of us who have been here a while go through that. Take care of yourself and know that we're always here for you!

    vflux33LoveInDCadiratpebbledam
  • @vflux33 part of why I think it's slow is because (tw?) people keep getting KU and bouncing. This is just a theory bc feb 18 just opened today so I don't think all have posted in intro thread yet but enough that I'm fairly confident in my assessment. Can't blame them since that's what I plan to do if I get KU (for different reasons), but it's sort of annoying since there's no explanation for the slow down.
    lund
  • @kiki75 Yay for Fillory! Sorry that you're feeling down...

@vflux33 @lund @justkeepswimming8 @elisek Thanks for the kind words ladies.
RE: Facebook - It's funny, because a) I don't even really like FB all that much, and b) I almost never see announcements on there, but all of a sudden here's a bunch right at the wrong time. I'm thinking that maybe I will take your advice and get off of it. I'm mostly on there to "keep in touch" with college friends, but I never really do, so might as well deactivate.
As for O'ing, I hear what you ladies are saying about CM not being reliable. *TW* The last time I got KU I never had EWCM at all, so I know it's not reliable for me. */TW* I did get a BBT a couple of weeks ago, so as soon as AF comes I'm going to start temping. I'm frustrated that we weren't more careful TTA and that I even have to worry about this. I REALLY wanted to just get back to TTC and didn't really communicate well with DH. At any rate, I think it's safe to say that there won't be any BFPs for me this cycle, and I kind of feel relieved that at least I don't have to explain to my doctor why it is that we couldn't follow simple instructions and use protection

@SesshomaruMom mom FX for you this cycle!

@adirat Thanks for chiming in. Even though it doesn't apply to me, I think that the science of all of this is so interesting!

@lund Oooh, so sorry about the waxing mishap. You're so brave for waxing down there! I did my legs once and vowed never again.

@vflux33 Sorry about the annoying and confusing O situation. I still have my FX that your new timing worked this cycle!

@doxiemoxie212 *rushes over to feb 18 to look*

I guess you're right. The only ones I saw were newbies so they are just trying to be respectful to the regs. FWIW I think you have been here long enough to go for the grad thread send-off because ppl (like me!) would totally notice you left and would want to wish you luck, but I understand if you feel like that would be uncomfortable for you b/c of prior loss, so do whatever feels right for you, of course.

    End TW

@hedgepig Glad to hear you'll be taking a break from Facebook! You won't regret it. And if you do, it will still be there when you're ready to go back  :) also not having to come clean with your doctor about that is always a plus.

    lundpebbledam
  • @hedgepig I'm sorry, that is really rough. Same thing happened with me with my 2nd loss. The closer the due date gets, the more I feel the need to block them.

Month/Cycle: 1/1 NTNP after 3 months on the bench ALs

    CD/DPO: 25/7

    Timing: -3

    Testing: won't be

R/R: dinner is in the crockpot and I wanna eatttt it now cause it smells so good.

    CS/Q: nope

GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? Ahh I'd have to really think about this and my little brain is fried at the moment from work.

this late ovulation talk is interesting to me. It's something I've wondered myself cause of one of my cycles.

  • @vflux33 yeah I'd love to say the reason I'd bounce is out of respect for feelings lol but I just don't think I'll want to celebrate until first doc appt. I don't know, the jinx thing. I hope if I get KU all of you will too at the same time bc then it won't matter if I bounce. Once I come back you'll all be there! :)
    vflux33pebbledam
  • @skilledsailor - the reason I went on BC when I was 18 was because of cysts. Cysts and some weird pregnancy symptom are my thoughts on this. If AF shows up, I'll make an appointment with my gyno. I hope it's not cysts because it would make this process even more fun...
