    Next is June 9th. Getting there, slowly but surely...

    Cravings?
    On Sunday we made sausage dogs with everything (ketchup, mustard, relish, onions) because I wanted one. But I don't think it was a strong enough craving to be a pregnancy one.

    Rants/Raves?
    This weekend we're going to see DH's family and finally announce to them!

    Nope.

    GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter?
    I'm 5'7". DH is 5'10" and I love me some block heels/wedges but honestly I'm comfortable with my height and neither of us care if I'm taller than him in certain shoes.

    @MJDsquared So exciting that you'll be announcing to that side of your family this weekend! Btw I had a hot dog with the exact same toppings on Sunday. My sausage/hot dog cravings are on a whole new level right now!

    Last Monday, strong heartbeats and growing at the right rate. Next one isn't until June 19 and the wait is killing me!

    Cravings?
    Just food in general. After that really long thread on cheeseburgers (in Unpopular Opinions, I think) I did need a cheeseburger yesterday haha.

    Rants/Raves?
    So this isn't really pregnancy related, but I've been invited to a bachelorette party that includes a pole dancing class, dinner out, bars/clubbing/gambling at our local casino (I live in Eastern CT near two HUGE resort casinos), staying the night at the hotel in the casino, then brunch the next morning. Maybe I'm old fashioned and/or maybe it's because I'm in penny pinching mode with surprise twins on the way, but this and other bachelorette parties I've been invited to recently just seem way over the top. I think I'm probably going to skip the pole dance class (because I'm a klutz and I don't want to take any chances) and the staying overnight, since I live nearby, but then I feel guilty because it drives up the cost for everyone else.

    I'm 5'7" and my husband is 6'3". I love it because he makes me feel petite, but I can still reach stuff.

    edit: Got a little ahead of myself and accidentally put the wrong week for how far along I was!

    @blueskies17 That news from your OB is amazing! I will be so happy to (hopefully) hear that some day!
    @abcola The childcare part is the thing that stresses me out. I've heard wait lists for daycare can be up to 18 months in some areas, which is insane. We live in the suburbs, so I'm hoping it's not that crazy...but I'm scared to start looking/get on a waitlist because it just still feels so early and that makes me anxious. Ugh.
    @ktcakes87 I have a long torso (though being only 5'7" not long enough for a one-piece to be quite that short!) and shorter legs so maybe I'd portion those out a little more evenly but not change my height, now that I think of it?
    @Piccola1988 @leilagphillips Hoping you ladies get through your wedding festivities without too much stress! I totally agree that that bachelorette party seems over the top. My bachelorette night was suuuper low key.

    @MJDSquared - I've had a lot of those where I've really wanted something, but it wasn't strong enough I think to consider it a craving.  
    @blueskies17 - so glad you've had good news and your doctor is confident!
    @abcola - I've started a bit.  Wait lists here are INSANE.  In fact, by waiting until after the first tri is over, it's very likely that I won't be off the waitlist at my top choices for daycare.  But I just was too afraid to jinx it.  I might put it in this week - which is like just shy of 12 weeks.  I'm mostly looking at daycare centers (not in home daycares) or doing a nanny share.  I think "too early" really depends on where you live!

    How far along are you? 11 weeks, 2 days.  

    Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Had one today.  It went really well.  Spoke with the genetic counselor about all the options and then had a quick u/s.  The baby danced up a storm, and the doctor said everything looked perfect!  Did the bloodwork for the NIPT test, so now just waiting on those results.  

    Cravings? Nothing really beyond just food.  I've determined that my nausea is tied to when I get even a little bit hungry, so that means I need to keep the food coming.  

    Rants/Raves? Rant - although the fatigue I was not feeling early in this pregnancy seems to have crept up on me.  So tired.  

    Questions?

    GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'4.5.  I'd like to be a bit taller; I feel like I can't reach anything in my kitchen!

    @abcola I looked up the daycare center in my town that a couple of my colleagues use. I did the math out and for two infants the cost is nearly half my take home pay. In the long run, this is what makes the most financial sense for us, but it's going to be an adjustment. I live in a fairly small town, so hopefully, there's not a crazy waitlist, but it's something I'm going to check now!

    @breezybee @MJDsquared Thanks for backing me up. I was worried I might sound selfish. I contacted the girl who's hosting the party and let her know that I'd be skipping the pole dancing and hotel stay, but that I'd join for the games, dinner, and bars/clubs for a bit. My actual friend who's getting married doesn't actually know any of the details of her party yet, since her friend's keeping it a surprise. I still want to celebrate with her, I just don't want to go broke in the process!

    It varies daily. I still really want sushi and since I'm feeling a bit better, I'm probably going to get it this week. Of course, it will be something cooked though.

    Thank God, my nausea has been manageable for past two days! Please God, let it stay this way LOL.

    How far along are you? 13 weeks, 5 days

    Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? OB appointment tomorrow, the first with my normal OB.  I strongly preferred the doctor we saw at last week's unplanned check up though, so I may switch. I am hoping that's not awkward or problematic, since they're in the same office.

    Cravings? Thai food. I've had pad thai with tofu and extra veggies 3x in the past two weeks -- each time a little spicier than the last.  

    Rants/Raves? It's starting to feel a lot more real. I can feel my excitement turning from "I'm just grateful we could even get this far" into "I am so excited we are actually having a baby."  On the rant side: I found out yesterday that I have to go to Indianapolis for a conference for work next week and I am not at all looking forward to the 3 time zone shift or 7+ hours of travel to get there (and back).  I should be really grateful, but I'm just feeling whiny.

    GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'7", and happy with my height (unless my gargantuan siblings are around... they're all at least 4" taller). If I could be a teensy bit taller, and I could get taller all in my legs, that would be fine with me.  I have the same torso length as my 6'3" brother but a 27" inseam.

    Cravings? Fruit and milkshakes!

    Rants/Raves? No complaints really, I haven't had a headache for 2 days so I'm happy about that. 

    Questions? Is anyone else excited to start seeing a baby bump?? Edit: I see @collectiveliving Is too!

    GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I am 5'1". I don't mind being short, but it is annoying how gaining a couple pounds is more obvious on my frame. DH is 6'2" and I never really notice our height difference until I see a picture and I'm like damn I'm short!!

    Nothing until middle of June. For some reason I've been a little anxious lately just because it's been a few weeks since I've had any sort of appointment. Considering the at home doppler thing, but I think it might cause more anxiety if I couldn't make it work.

    Omg, yes to everyone who said hot dogs! For some reason those have sounded extra delicious. Italian food has been something that has stayed down reasonably well this whole time too.

    Rants/Raves?
    My puppy can be a handful (5 month old German shepherd mix) but I swear she knows when I'm feeling bad, and she comes over and snuggles with me. Such a sweetheart.

    GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter?
    I'm 5'9" which sometimes is inconvenient (pants are often too short after one wash and hubby is just under 2" taller so I feel like an Amazon) but in general I'm fine with it. I feel like sometimes I'm taken more seriously because I'm physically on level with a good number of men.

    Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Appt last Wednesday, everything went great. We got to hear the heartbeat! Unfortunately I'm a baby when it comes to bloodwork so I passed out and had a mini seizure while getting my lab draw for panorama 

    Cravings? Strawberries and soft pretzels! 

    Rants/Raves? I can't seem to get any sleep. No matter what I try, this little babe doesn't want mommy to get any sleep. 

    Questions? Any suggestions on ways to get sleep? 

    GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5 ft tall, I'm ok with my height but I would like to be just a tiny bit taller :)

    @abcola: I have been lurking on the January 2018 board, and this was brought up last week or so. I called around, and the nicer private schools have waiting lists for anywhere to December of this year, to May of 2018. I went today and gave a deposit to get on the list for one that will have availability in late February. I honestly don't know that my peanut will be going to childcare or if I will stay home, but I figured better to be safe than sorry. I don't want my child going to one of the lower end stinky daycares, so wanted to be proactive. 

    @peachy13: I have a doppler, and still wasn't able to find it a few days ago. I told myself I'm going to put it away till next week, because this is about the time I had a missed miscarriage last year, and I don't want to stress myself out.   

    How far along are you? 11+2

    Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? I had my blood drawn yesterday for the MaterniT21 testing, and have an ultrasound Saturday with a private company. My next appointment with my doctor is not till June 12th.

    Cravings? I would really love to have a Starbucks caramel machiatto, but I cut coffee out as soon as I saw a positive on the stick! 

    Rants/Raves? I am feeling much better, and not near as tired as I was in previous week. I don't really feel pregnant at all, except for the mild pulling/stretching that I get every now & again.

    Questions? Has anyone else experienced a missed miscarriage? Last year I was nervous about telling anyone till about 9 weeks, and then shared the news, just to find out @ my 12 week appointment that baby didn't have a heart beat anymore. This time I wasn't nervous till now, and we haven't shared the news with anyone yet. Waiting to get through the 1st trimester completely.

    GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I am only 5 ft, so would love to be a little taller.

    Yes- got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. 170bpm

    Cravings? Not really. More aversions than cravings

    Rants/Raves? Rave- just realized what FTM meant and joined in the convo :) I'm a little slow with remembering what all the acronyms mean haha.
