Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Next week... 6/6 NT Scan and 6/8 OB appt
Cravings? Nothing unusual, Mexican food and ice cream (not together) but I crave those all the time while not pregnant too...
Rants/Raves? My H is so sweet lately. He knows this pregnancy has been tough, and he's been super helpful with everything. I was doing laundry yesterday while he was watching TV. Usually I ask for help but I let him do his thing because he'd helped a lot earlier in the day, and he saw what I was doing and got up to help me without asking. It really is the little things.
Questions? Not today
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm about 5'5''. I don't really care about my height. I'm shorter than my H, taller than some friends and shorter than others.

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Next is June 9th. Getting there, slowly but surely...
Cravings? On Sunday we made sausage dogs with everything (ketchup, mustard, relish, onions) because I wanted one. But I don't think it was a strong enough craving to be a pregnancy one.
Rants/Raves? This weekend we're going to see DH's family and finally announce to them!
Questions? Nope.
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'7". DH is 5'10" and I love me some block heels/wedges but honestly I'm comfortable with my height and neither of us care if I'm taller than him in certain shoes.
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? I had an NT scan on Friday and it went really well. Also had a follow up with my OB and listed to baby boy's heartbeat on the doppler today. She told me that I should feel good about sharing the news at this point. It's been a good week of appointments!
Cravings? Hot dogs, corn dogs... did I mention hot dogs?
Rants/Raves? I am really annoyed at myself for not tucking my pants into my socks when I went hiking the other day. I got bitten by a deer tick and descended into major paranoia for the next two days, even though the doctor told me that my risk for contracting Lyme disease is negligible because the tick was only attached for 2 hours at the most. It seems like the consensus is that I'm probably ok but of course there is that small part of me that's frightened that I'll be the exception and I'm going to get Lyme and harm the baby.
Questions? Not at the moment
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'6". When I was younger I used to wish I was shorter (all the boys I liked were short lol). Now I'm happy with my height.
@txmomma16 aw your DH sounds super sweet! @MJDsquared So exciting that you'll be announcing to that side of your family this weekend! Btw I had a hot dog with the exact same toppings on Sunday. My sausage/hot dog cravings are on a whole new level right now!
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Appointment tomorrow for a quick peek at the tot and draw blood for the Harmony test!
Cravings? Iced Tea, and sour things
Rants/Raves? I had a great weekend away with friends, but am feeling the effects of it now... I think its dawning on me now that pregnancy is actually affecting me *duh*
Questions? Have any of you who work started thinking about your child care plans? I know its a bit early as we haven't announced yet, but still on my mind.
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5 foot even... I wish I was taller for sure! But I've just accepted it...
@txmomma16 what a great hubs! I can tell mine is being more protective of me, always asking how I'm feeling, and taking care of my suitcase while we were traveling, but doing chores.... I'm hoping that will be a 2nd tri miracle
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Next appt 6/16
Cravings? Not really, I just keep eating junk though.
Rants/Raves? Second tri is only 3 days away! Ahhhh!
Questions?
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I am 5'11". I do usually wish I was shorter, but I don't mind being tall. My DH is the same height. I do secretly wish he was taller or I was shorter. I do dislike that pants and shirts are almost always too short for me. I tried on a one piece bathing suit a few years ago and the cups only came to just above my belly button

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Haven't had an appointment in about 3 weeks, but I have my NT scan this coming Monday.
Cravings? I don't really think I've had any. I definitely have strong feelings of what I'm not in the mood for, but I don't usually want any one thing that badly.
Rants/Raves? Rant: I'm in a wedding this weekend and it's giving me anxiety. Having to look alive and not show signs of extreme nausea from 8am to midnight is not going to be an easy task, and the dress is super fitted, so keeping this quiet will be a major chore. Rave: I am just SO excited that our NIPT results look good!
Questions? None right now.
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'0" (same as you @abcola!). I would definitely like to be taller, maybe be able to reach the top shelf or see over a crowd for a change, but I'm over it. My husband is 6'3" and SO worried that our son will be short - ugh, H, give it a rest!
Last Monday, strong heartbeats and growing at the right rate. Next one isn't until June 19 and the wait is killing me!
Cravings?
Just food in general. After that really long thread on cheeseburgers (in Unpopular Opinions, I think) I did need a cheeseburger yesterday haha.
Rants/Raves?
So this isn't really pregnancy related, but I've been invited to a bachelorette party that includes a pole dancing class, dinner out, bars/clubbing/gambling at our local casino (I live in Eastern CT near two HUGE resort casinos), staying the night at the hotel in the casino, then brunch the next morning. Maybe I'm old fashioned and/or maybe it's because I'm in penny pinching mode with surprise twins on the way, but this and other bachelorette parties I've been invited to recently just seem way over the top. I think I'm probably going to skip the pole dance class (because I'm a klutz and I don't want to take any chances) and the staying overnight, since I live nearby, but then I feel guilty because it drives up the cost for everyone else.
Questions?
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter?
I'm 5'7" and my husband is 6'3". I love it because he makes me feel petite, but I can still reach stuff.
edit: Got a little ahead of myself and accidentally put the wrong week for how far along I was!
@blueskies17 That news from your OB is amazing! I will be so happy to (hopefully) hear that some day! @abcola The childcare part is the thing that stresses me out. I've heard wait lists for daycare can be up to 18 months in some areas, which is insane. We live in the suburbs, so I'm hoping it's not that crazy...but I'm scared to start looking/get on a waitlist because it just still feels so early and that makes me anxious. Ugh. @ktcakes87 I have a long torso (though being only 5'7" not long enough for a one-piece to be quite that short!) and shorter legs so maybe I'd portion those out a little more evenly but not change my height, now that I think of it? @Piccola1988@leilagphillips Hoping you ladies get through your wedding festivities without too much stress! I totally agree that that bachelorette party seems over the top. My bachelorette night was suuuper low key.
@MJDSquared - I've had a lot of those where I've really wanted something, but it wasn't strong enough I think to consider it a craving. @blueskies17 - so glad you've had good news and your doctor is confident! @abcola - I've started a bit. Wait lists here are INSANE. In fact, by waiting until after the first tri is over, it's very likely that I won't be off the waitlist at my top choices for daycare. But I just was too afraid to jinx it. I might put it in this week - which is like just shy of 12 weeks. I'm mostly looking at daycare centers (not in home daycares) or doing a nanny share. I think "too early" really depends on where you live!
How far along are you? 11 weeks, 2 days.
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Had one today. It went really well. Spoke with the genetic counselor about all the options and then had a quick u/s. The baby danced up a storm, and the doctor said everything looked perfect! Did the bloodwork for the NIPT test, so now just waiting on those results.
Cravings? Nothing really beyond just food. I've determined that my nausea is tied to when I get even a little bit hungry, so that means I need to keep the food coming.
Rants/Raves? Rant - although the fatigue I was not feeling early in this pregnancy seems to have crept up on me. So tired.
Questions?
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'4.5. I'd like to be a bit taller; I feel like I can't reach anything in my kitchen!

Hang in there and try to bring comfy shoes. @leilagphillips I would absolutely skip it, unless you're this persons best friend. I personally don't have the energy for that kind of stuff right now. And we're in the same boat with the penny pinching

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? We had an US last week to determine what kind of twins we're having, and thankfully, they're mo/di. Slightly high risk, but not as high risk as the alternative. Because of this, I'll be seeing a team of MFM (maternal fetal medicine) doctors every 2 weeks for US. My next one is June 8th I'm excited to see how big they'll be!
Cravings? That UO thread really made me want a burger, so my husband is making those tonight. I can't WAIT. Also, brownies and ice cream. I really need to limit my sugar intake. I'm going to make it impossible to not get gestational diabetes.
Rants/Raves? My nausea has gotten a little better. A little. In other news, my husband and I have been toying with the idea of selling our house in the city and moving about 30 minutes away to Marin, CA. His whole family is there, and allllll of our friends have moved there. We could get a giant house with a pool and I could have my own pottery studio. Anyway, we've decided it's the smartest move for our family, so f things continue to go well, we'll be looking to sell/buy after the first trimester is over. I'm pretty excited for this new chapter of our lives!
Questions? Nah
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'6" and I do not wish to be any different. Maybe longer legs so I wouldn't have to hem all of my pants, but I don't really care.
No. Next week!! My midwife is gonna try to hear the heartbeat with the doppler. I have not had any ultrasounds or anything so I'm very nervous and excited.
Cravings?
Fruit. And the new (weird) one is hot dogs. Wtf.
Rants/Raves?
We are trying to get our house on the market and it's like we keep finding more things that need done. Now we have a window that has a busted seal and needs replaced. Never had any issues then it's like, get ready to try and sell and it's one thing after another.
Questions? Nah

@abcola I looked up the daycare center in my town that a couple of my colleagues use. I did the math out and for two infants the cost is nearly half my take home pay. In the long run, this is what makes the most financial sense for us, but it's going to be an adjustment. I live in a fairly small town, so hopefully, there's not a crazy waitlist, but it's something I'm going to check now!
@breezybee@MJDsquared Thanks for backing me up. I was worried I might sound selfish. I contacted the girl who's hosting the party and let her know that I'd be skipping the pole dancing and hotel stay, but that I'd join for the games, dinner, and bars/clubs for a bit. My actual friend who's getting married doesn't actually know any of the details of her party yet, since her friend's keeping it a surprise. I still want to celebrate with her, I just don't want to go broke in the process!
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? My 12 week US is tomrrow and I have to admit I've been pretty paranoid leading up to it. Godwilling everything's fine and then I'll finally feel relief. Really hoping to see a baby moving around! Last time it was a blob with a heartbeat.
Cravings? For the last nearly 32 years, yes. Lol.
Rants/Raves? I didn't think I was feeling emotional/hormonal and then tonight I cried for a hour about my grandfathers not being alive to see this.
Questions? Tips for 12 week US anyone?
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? 5'4" and not really haha. My husband calls me Munchkin. I was always towering over everyone in elementary school and middle school so we thought I was going to be super tall. But nope, I stopped and everyone caught up and then passed me haha. Still doesn't explain my massive size 9/10 feet.
leilagphillips omg yes!! i cannot STAND these over the top bachelorette parties/weekends/trips. no!! unless its a dinner, i honestly RSVP no. i don't care anymore. sorry but i'm not spending a night in a resort with 5 other activities with a bunch of girls i don't know in a place 3 hours away. if you're in the bridal party, then yes. otherwise, nah. if these things were local and i could join for 1 part like the dinner i would but it never seems to be the case.

How far along are you?
11+3 with di/di twins
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
I have an appointment on Friday to hear the heartbeats
Cravings?
It varies daily. I still really want sushi and since I'm feeling a bit better, I'm probably going to get it this week. Of course, it will be something cooked though.
Rants/Raves? Thank God, my nausea has been manageable for past two days! Please God, let it stay this way LOL.
Questions? Nothing for now.
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? 5'5" and I'm OK with that.
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? NT scan last week (all went well!) and regular check-up next week
Cravings? None yet, though my appetite is certainly coming back.
Rants/Raves? Rave: telling everyone at work has been really fun! It is a total surprise to people and they're genuinely excited.
Questions? Does anyone use an at-home doppler? I used mine for the first time the other day and found the heartbeat fine. Used it again last night and found it fine. Used it this morning and couldn't detect it. Kind of has me worried but I also realize that there are a ton of reasons I may not have been able to find it. Maybe it was because I had just woken up?
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm only 5 feet! I don't mind my height but I wish I had longer legs just for the sake of wearing flats or flip-flops -- both look pretty bad on me and I usually need to find a shoe with even just a little heel to elongate my little legs.
ETA: Update regarding the at-home doppler. I found the heartbeat without any problem last night after I got home from work. I read somewhere (or one of you told me) that a full stomach/bladder helps. After hearing it, I vowed to put it away for a while! Thanks everyone for your support.

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Ultrasound yesterday, and all looked great. The little peanut is looking way more human, and was kicking and squirming around. Heart rate 154, and measured exactly on target.
Cravings? Hot dogs as well! And fruit, especially berries.
Rants/Raves? I'm really excited to have a little bump. I'm still not announcing at work, and it's not impossible to hide still, but I wake up in the morning smiling, and reach down to feel it, and my lovely wife does the same thing.
Questions? Not at the moment.
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'4", and totally happy to be this height. I definitely used to wish that I were taller.

As of 12/15/2017, my new hashtag is #41 and pregnant!
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? OB appointment tomorrow, the first with my normal OB. I strongly preferred the doctor we saw at last week's unplanned check up though, so I may switch. I am hoping that's not awkward or problematic, since they're in the same office.
Cravings? Thai food. I've had pad thai with tofu and extra veggies 3x in the past two weeks -- each time a little spicier than the last.
Rants/Raves? It's starting to feel a lot more real. I can feel my excitement turning from "I'm just grateful we could even get this far" into "I am so excited we are actually having a baby." On the rant side: I found out yesterday that I have to go to Indianapolis for a conference for work next week and I am not at all looking forward to the 3 time zone shift or 7+ hours of travel to get there (and back). I should be really grateful, but I'm just feeling whiny.
Questions? Nothing at the moment.
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'7", and happy with my height (unless my gargantuan siblings are around... they're all at least 4" taller). If I could be a teensy bit taller, and I could get taller all in my legs, that would be fine with me. I have the same torso length as my 6'3" brother but a 27" inseam.
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? My next appointment is a week from Friday.
Cravings? Fruit and milkshakes!
Rants/Raves? No complaints really, I haven't had a headache for 2 days so I'm happy about that.
Questions? Is anyone else excited to start seeing a baby bump?? Edit: I see @collectiveliving Is too!
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I am 5'1". I don't mind being short, but it is annoying how gaining a couple pounds is more obvious on my frame. DH is 6'2" and I never really notice our height difference until I see a picture and I'm like damn I'm short!!
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Nothing until middle of June. For some reason I've been a little anxious lately just because it's been a few weeks since I've had any sort of appointment. Considering the at home doppler thing, but I think it might cause more anxiety if I couldn't make it work.
Cravings? Omg, yes to everyone who said hot dogs! For some reason those have sounded extra delicious. Italian food has been something that has stayed down reasonably well this whole time too.
Rants/Raves?
My puppy can be a handful (5 month old German shepherd mix) but I swear she knows when I'm feeling bad, and she comes over and snuggles with me. Such a sweetheart.
Questions?
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5'9" which sometimes is inconvenient (pants are often too short after one wash and hubby is just under 2" taller so I feel like an Amazon) but in general I'm fine with it. I feel like sometimes I'm taken more seriously because I'm physically on level with a good number of men.
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Appt last Wednesday, everything went great. We got to hear the heartbeat! Unfortunately I'm a baby when it comes to bloodwork so I passed out and had a mini seizure while getting my lab draw for panorama
Cravings? Strawberries and soft pretzels!
Rants/Raves? I can't seem to get any sleep. No matter what I try, this little babe doesn't want mommy to get any sleep.
Questions? Any suggestions on ways to get sleep?
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I'm 5 ft tall, I'm ok with my height but I would like to be just a tiny bit taller
@abcola: I have been lurking on the January 2018 board, and this was brought up last week or so. I called around, and the nicer private schools have waiting lists for anywhere to December of this year, to May of 2018. I went today and gave a deposit to get on the list for one that will have availability in late February. I honestly don't know that my peanut will be going to childcare or if I will stay home, but I figured better to be safe than sorry. I don't want my child going to one of the lower end stinky daycares, so wanted to be proactive.
@peachy13: I have a doppler, and still wasn't able to find it a few days ago. I told myself I'm going to put it away till next week, because this is about the time I had a missed miscarriage last year, and I don't want to stress myself out.
How far along are you? 11+2
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? I had my blood drawn yesterday for the MaterniT21 testing, and have an ultrasound Saturday with a private company. My next appointment with my doctor is not till June 12th.
Cravings? I would really love to have a Starbucks caramel machiatto, but I cut coffee out as soon as I saw a positive on the stick!
Rants/Raves? I am feeling much better, and not near as tired as I was in previous week. I don't really feel pregnant at all, except for the mild pulling/stretching that I get every now & again.
Questions? Has anyone else experienced a missed miscarriage? Last year I was nervous about telling anyone till about 9 weeks, and then shared the news, just to find out @ my 12 week appointment that baby didn't have a heart beat anymore. This time I wasn't nervous till now, and we haven't shared the news with anyone yet. Waiting to get through the 1st trimester completely.
GTKY: How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller or shorter? I am only 5 ft, so would love to be a little taller.

leilagphillips omg yes!! i cannot STAND these over the top bachelorette parties/weekends/trips. no!! unless its a dinner, i honestly RSVP no. i don't care anymore. sorry but i'm not spending a night in a resort with 5 other activities with a bunch of girls i don't know in a place 3 hours away. if you're in the bridal party, then yes. otherwise, nah. if these things were local and i could join for 1 part like the dinner i would but it never seems to be the case.
@Piccola1988 Good luck with the wedding! I definitely don't have enough energy for that.
@breezybee Cheers to less nausea! Your move sounds exciting!
How far along are you?
Thank God, my nausea has been manageable for past two days! Please God, let it stay this way LOL.
Nothing for now.
5'5" and I'm OK with that.
ETA: Update regarding the at-home doppler. I found the heartbeat without any problem last night after I got home from work. I read somewhere (or one of you told me) that a full stomach/bladder helps. After hearing it, I vowed to put it away for a while! Thanks everyone for your support.

Nothing until middle of June. For some reason I've been a little anxious lately just because it's been a few weeks since I've had any sort of appointment. Considering the at home doppler thing, but I think it might cause more anxiety if I couldn't make it work.
Omg, yes to everyone who said hot dogs! For some reason those have sounded extra delicious. Italian food has been something that has stayed down reasonably well this whole time too.
I'm 5'9" which sometimes is inconvenient (pants are often too short after one wash and hubby is just under 2" taller so I feel like an Amazon) but in general I'm fine with it. I feel like sometimes I'm taken more seriously because I'm physically on level with a good number of men.
@peachy13: I have a doppler, and still wasn't able to find it a few days ago. I told myself I'm going to put it away till next week, because this is about the time I had a missed miscarriage last year, and I don't want to stress myself out.
