@vflux33 Haha, pioneer style! I use cloth pads at night now, since they feel too diaper-y for me during the day. I definitely hate the waste of pads and tampons, so I'm loving all this reusable stuff.

@vflux33 yeah, for me the size thing is in the crotch, it hangs down super low, but if I pull them up so that doesn't happen, they're practically at my nipples and the waist band is way too loose (because my hips are much wider than my waist/ribcage). I've tried washing/drying them (also forgot and left them in dryer), and it sort of helped the nonbikini bikini, but the thong is a lost cause. Did you ever buy VS thongs in like 2001? It's like that, where I'd need to roll them several times over.
Re: Thinx I feel like my flow is too heavy to risk that the first 2 full days. I like my menstrual cup, but have thought about getting Thinx as a back-up on those heavy days.

@zwink1 I always feel like a terrible person when I'm happy that something hideous my husband loved breaks or isn't usable anymore. He had this horrible set of plates when we first got together, and they've slowly (and legitimately accidentally) broke over the past two years. There's only a few left, and I always put on a feigned 'shucks, looks like we can just shove these to the back of the cabinet' look when he talks about them.
I think all you ladies who do the THINX thing are brave. I don't trust my body enough to use them.
The BBQ wasn't too bad yesterday. The aunt in question kept her distance (I think my other aunt and my uncle went off on her after the baby shower incident). *Potential TW* I have year old twin cousins who I'm absolutely in love with that I spent most of the afternoon playing with. For some reason, they don't give me as many 'sad for myself' feelings, probably because my aunt and uncle are much older than me- it doesn't sting as much as my contemporary cousins having kids before me. Also, they're hilarious and too cute. It was really sweet seeing them interact with my grandpa.
I'm spending today trying to get my house spiffy. I'm having someone come clean up my yard in a few weeks, and in less than 50 days, DH will be visiting! I want him to be under the illusion that I've been a good housekeeper for the past year (I have not).

@grnmtnmama@doxiemoxie212@vflux33@JJMNO1616 My two cents re: Thinx. I love them! I have very light periods and hate tampons, so they're great for me. I have never bled through them, even wearing them 8 or 10 hours at a time. My only problem with them is that they can get kind of stinky, so I like to change them every 6-8 hours or so, especially if it's a hot/sweaty day. And washing them in the sink is way less gross/weird than I thought it would be. Edit: @doxiemoxie212 I have 5 pairs, and while I like some of the cuts better than others, but haven't had any trouble with sizing.
I actually don't even own a pair... I signed up on the site last weekend and was thinking about buying some but I decided against it because they are so expensive. I got an email about the sale though and have been contemplating pulling the trigger on them. I hate tampons because I am really bad about changing them regularly and my diva cup kind of hurts when removing it. So with our single stahl bathrooms at work I get really anxious about being in the bathroom too long when trying to clean it and put it back in. So many period problems.
I'm way more afraid of the cups than Thinx. I would be so afraid of spillage or doing it wrong. I like that I don't have to think about the Thinx.
@doxiemoxie212 I never tried their thongs, but I do remember when I had the older school vs thongs wondering "is my vagina too small for these?!" So you have solved an old mystery for me.
@JJMNO1616 if you add up costs for tampons it is worth the price (but if you already have a cup I guess that's not as much savings).
@JJMNO1616 I think they're worth it if you add up the cost of ruined underwear, lol. I have the black ones, and they're super easy to wash, and very difficult to ruin.
@vflux33 YES! Exactly! Absurd. I wear the thong one, like, if laundry day lines up with "I'm unsure if AF is going to surprise me today" days haha
