TTC After a Loss

No ovulation after early loss?

Hello,
I just wanted know if anyone has had a similar experience to me.
I experienced a loss 01/23/17 at 6 weeks and we've been trying ever since, but I haven't appeared to have ovulated at all. OPKs have been negative every month and no physical signs of it happening either. AF has been on time (every 27-31 days) but has been shorter than normal (2 days compared to 4 or 5). No EWM anymore and that also used to show up no problem before the loss.
I just want to know if it's common for this to occur this many times in a row (anovulationary cycle?) after an early loss? I'm supposed to go for an ultra sound and blood work within the next week or so to see what's going on in there.
I've been a lurker for a little while and I'm still learning all the acronyms ;)

Re: No ovulation after early loss?

  • Is it possible its happening on a different day than you'd normally expect? Are you doing OPKs everyday? Symptoms might just be different now or CM is decreased. If you are, I'd definitely talk to your doctor as I don't think its normal to happen repeatedly, although I know it can happen at least once after loss. Might be a hormone issue and it isnt being triggered.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.  My first cycle after 1st MC was annovulatory.   My cycles were different from my norm and different each month.  I started testing at CD10 and tested to basically CD20.  I ovulated on different days each month for about 7 months.  I would check with doctor as previous post mentioned

I would also suggest getting CD 21 labs drawn. I guess that's a standard date to determine if you ovulate.  Opks aren't 100%. My opks turned BUT I didn't ovulate after MC. Maybe you're  the opposite?!
    I'm with @Mack2342 I start testing CD10-CD20 if needed.

@captainfoxtrot @Mack2342 @Chawk17 Thanks for the replies! I have spoken with my doctor hence the upcoming ultra sound and blood work. He also told me he doesn't think it's normal to go this long with ovulating. So ultra sound appointment as soon as they call me back and he told me to go for blood work around the time I should be ovulating to check my hormones. He didn't tell me a specific cycle day. I just wanted to see if anyone experienced anything similar. I felt like 4 cycles without ovulation wasn't a good sign.
I have previously done OPKs from day 10 to 20. I guess I'll just have to be patient and see what comes from the tests in a week or so!
