So confused

last month I took like 10 pregnancy tests and all came back positive. I calculated I was 5 weeks. I few days later I had bleeding for 3 days. No cramps. I had a transvaginal ultrasound and they didn't find anything not even a sac. A week later took a pregnancy test and it was negative so I assumed I had a miscarriage. So now a month later I decide to take a test and it's positive. Is it possible to get pregnant so soon after a miscarriage or is it possible I didn't have a miscarriage and the negative was a fluke?

Re: So confused

  • It's more likely that you got pregnant again right away.
  • With the transvaginal ultrasound not showing anything I would agree that you probably got pregnant again. Congrats, and call your ob, they'll have more insight :)

  • I agree with these lovely ladies.***TW*** A friend of mine had an ectopic pregnancy, and a month after surgery was pregnant! Fingers crossed for you!

  • I'm surprised your pregnancy test came back negative a week later.  It took me months after my last miscarriage to lose everything.  (Being an earlier pregnancy, maybe you lost stuff quicker) but I would definitely check with your doc.  The test could still be getting parts from your miscarriage.

  • With an early miscarriage, you can definitely get a negative test after a week and go on to ovulate a week or two later. Congrats and FX for a sticky bean.
  • I got pregnant twice the month after a loss - it's definitely possible! I'd call your doctor again, though, they can help you figure things out.

  • TW - in Jan 2012 I miscarried, 3 weeks later in Feb I became pregnant again and had DD2 in Nov 2012.
In Mar 2016 I miscarried at 7w1d became pregnant again and had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in April.

It's very possible you are pregnant again. However, we are not doctors, and the best thing would be to have a doctor monitor your BETA levels to see what's going on.
  • I hope you let us know what the doctor says.  I've been sending you good thoughts!
