For those of you ladies who have a glider.....did you also get the ottoman? Is it worth it? We received the glider off our registry but not the ottoman. It's an additional $100 or so---is it worth it to get it?
My Mom bought our glider, it was $490. We bought the ottoman that matches for $190. I feel like I wouldn't sit there unless it had an ottoman. I am a "put my feet up" kind of girl. Even my couch has a chaise lounge attached to it! So I say, yes buy the ottoman also.
We didn't get the ottoman but then someone pointed out to me that she spent many nights sleeping in the glider and was glad to have the ottoman. I really don't think we have room for an ottoman otherwise I would get it. I guess if I end up needed to sleep somewhere with the baby we will end up in the living room.
I bought a pricier rocker/glider from a boutique store, but didn't want to spend the $250 to get the ottoman. The chair is a black and white toille, so I bought an older ugly gliding ottoman (one that matches the "grandma" wooden rockers with pads on them) off of craigslist for $10. I painted the wood part black and bought a black and white polka dot fabric and recovered the pad. The "set" turned out even cuter than if they had been a matching pair and cost me a whole lot less!
Re: For those who have a glider
Decision made--I will order it this weekend. I am sure in the long run I will be happy that I did.
I took a cheaper route:
