@WombThereItIs: Agreed about the importance of keeping a focus on these issues and potential cracks in the system that need to be filled. But if an investigator is hired to suss this out, give her some time to actually do her job and present hard evidence without the trial by media 24/7. I'm all for focus. Just not this circus.
  • @starphish18 I love rompers! I can't find many that look good on me since I'm so short and stumpy, but I love them! The only downside is being basically completely naked when going to the bathroom lol

I've never gotten anything from Ikea, so I have no opinion there.
I also have no UO of my own.

My sister is a surgeon, who often works trauma cases, and the docs in her hospital refer to motorcycles as "donorcycles." Sad, but people make their own choices when they choose to ride helmetless.
My mom was an ICU nurse for years and uses the same term.
  • I hate bike lanes. If there's a sidewalk, why can't they just ride on the sidewalk? It gives me anxiety to drive next to a bicyclist in a bike lane thinking their accidentally going to swerve out into traffic.

I have the opposite annoyance- as a runner, I hate when there is a bike lane and people bike on the sidewalk. Also, I'm pretty sure that's illegal in many places.
Oh I know it's illegal to bike on the sidewalk. I just would rather that not be the case and to get off the road lol

  • Polite and courteous and well-trained cyclists on the road don't bother me. But, if you're going to ride on the road, you HAVE to follow the same rules as the other vehicles. Stop at stoplights, stop signs, etc. I hate when a bicyclist darts out in front of me effectively running a red light because they "saw an opportunity."
I think this is probably more of my annoyance. Bicyclists who don't really know what they are doing. My brother road bikes so I get the need to use the bike lane and the fact that the sidewalk isn't meant for them it use, it just gives me anxiety!

  • I like a well fitting romper. I've found one that fits me. It's the perfect length (i.e. Not short) and hides my saggy midsection. I just wish rompers 2T to adult all had crotch snaps like baby rompers do. It would be so helpful to avoid the naked bathroom situation.

Motorcycles: I find most riders are inconsiderate. However, my dad rides and follows the rules of the road. But I'm annoyed he rides because I think it's such a dangerous hobby.

Whitehouse: pile on and report the daily incompetence. We can't ignore it.

Bike lanes: annoy me but only because I'm worried I'll miss a cyclist in my side view. I'm fine with bicyclists, just worried I'm the problem.

Ikea: most furniture is transitional but I'm obsessed with IKEA hacks and kid stuff. Also I love their dish brushes.

Kid personalities: sort of agree. But DD's personality at birth is still her exact personality. She won't do anything on anyone's time but her own and she tends to get very worked up about things. I had to be induced 5 days late with her and she wouldn't calm down during skin to skin until a nurse swaddled her. Let's hope DS maintains his timely, chill attitude he had at birth.

  • I am okay with some rompers on other people. They look dumb on me. I am not okay with the Romphim (man romper), but can see my brother and his friends all showing up somewhere in them.

  • @SWE2 I hope that isn't a true UO. That infuriates me!!! Stop being so lazy and return them to the cart thingy! I sometimes park next to the cart return so I have to walk a short amount to drop it off.

Yes to following the same rules. I once got in an accident when a bicyclist rode into my car. I was at a red light and pulled forward to see if I could go right on red. I stopped and waited on traffic. An elderly man on a bike came down the sidewalk. He had a gallon of milk in each hand and couldn't stop with his hand brakes. He hit me just behind my front passenger tire. The police officer examined the marks on my car and determined the man was at fault. The man later tried to sue my insurance company for money as a result of me hitting him, but it didn't work, since the police report stated that he hit me.

My potential UO: I hate motorcycles. The "watch out for motorcycles" bumper stickers always annoy me, considering 95% of motorcycle drivers I encounter drive like assholes and make up their own rules of the road (ie. weaving in between cars or driving down the center through traffic jams). I support driving carefully and certainly will avoid hitting another driver, regardless of what they are driving...but don't drive like a dick and then act like everyone is against you. Also, if you drive a motorcycle without a helmet, you're a moron.

I hate motorcycles too but it's because they scare me. I thoroughly avoid driving close to a motorcycle in fear of getting into an accident with them. I used to be in insurance and while I have known people in personal life that have survived motorcycle accidents, every motorcycle insurance claim that I ever came across with at work involved a death. I think those things are way too dangerous.

  • Motorcycles scare me, too. My brother used to drive a moped around town to save on gas. He got t-boned by a deer while he was going 25 mph tops. His helmet was completely destroyed and his leg and knee were pretty messed up for a while. And that was just a moped at low speed (he got rid of it, btw). You're so vulnerable in a motorcycle, and even a minor crash can be deadly. Way too scary to me.
  • MH was in a bad motorcycle accident when he was around 21 long before we met. I hate hearing the story and really hate that he didn't win any money from the woman who hit him.
