How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)? Eva is going to be 3 in July.
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? Parenting a toddler with this level of fatigue/nausea. I feel like I can't do ANYTHING, and cooking food is....ugh. I never had nausea with DD. Does anyone have any suggestions for relieving it naturally?
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I just love how excited DD is about the new baby. She's still adamant about it being a sister rather than a brother. But every night as she's laying down to sleep, she insists on hugging my belly and says, "I love you so much baby."
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Just the above question re: nausea.
GTKY: Do you have a preference for a boy/girl this time around? Why? I always saw us having two girls, but I think it would be fun to have a boy. Although I am dreading having to get all new clothes. Not dreading, I love clothes. I just don't like the expense

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? It's challenging to get DS not to tell everyone about the pregnancy. We wanted to tell him first before we told our family, but he's so excited that he keeps talking about it and doesn't understand why we don't want to tell everyone just yet!
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I'm super excited to have had right at 5 years when this baby is born to give all of my attention to our J13.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: I'm starting to freak out. At this point with DS we had had 2 betas, and 1 us. At this point with the surrobabe, we had 3 betas and 2 us. This pregnancy - nothing. My mind is getting the best of me and I keep worrying something is wrong.
GTKY: Do you have a preference for a boy/girl this time around? Why? I'm torn - I really, really want a girl! But if it's a boy, I already have all of the clothes I'll need minus personalized stuff!

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?
So far it's just difficult keeping up with DS who is starting to walk, but not steady at all. Also I'm still nursing him which is really starting to hurt, and I'm afraid I'm going to lose my supply soon. Anyone have any experience with that? How long were you able to continue nursing while pregnant?
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM:
I was close in age to my sisters and we're all really close still, so I'm excited for my children to have that potential for closeness with each other.

I go back and forth. DS has 3 boy cousins and not girl cousins, so it would be fun to have another boy, but there is also the appeal of having the only girl in the family.
@missblaze That is soooo sweet that your daughter is that excited! I bet she'll be a big help when the baby is here. For nausea the only thing that helped for me were bland snacks and sucking on hard candy. The doctor recommended that crystalized ginger candy, but I personally hate ginger so I never tried.

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: any suggestions on activities to do with DD , since she has still not crawled ? I know it's key in development and she has gone across the room but really hates it and just wants to be on her feet .
GTKY: Do you have a preference for a boy/girl this time around? Why? DH wants a boy really bad , I am honestly ok with either . I want 5 total so I am sure we will get some of each, however I want to adopt some kids and the agency we are looking at aimed to keep sibling groups together . So after this one we are going to explore that option just in case we end up 3 more all at once . Then crazy town starts
@maueraa07 I know of some women that have successfully nursed until they gave birth, but no first hand advice here . MyDD decided to become a biter at 9.5 months . She bit me so hard it drew blood. So I pumped that side to let it heal and every time after that that she latched she bit me . If she got tired she would bit ( which nursing out her to sleep ) , if there was noise she would bit .. pretty much everything so weening was abrupt for us . She is now on goats milk which smells morbid to me ... come on 12 months !!

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? I cannot stop vomiting today. This time around, the nausea and vomiting is so much worse. I am in bed almost constantly.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: We told my parents on Saturday because I feel terrible and wanted some additional support. They were thrilled. Looking forward to telling the rest of the family when I feel better.

GTKY: Do you have a preference for a boy/girl this time around? Why? We always said 2 boys as preference. However, DH is now saying he would like a girl and hopes this one is a girl. I find myself thinking of a daughter as well and always enjoy shopping for our niece. A brother for DS would be cool too. I'm hoping we stay team green this time as we are two and through.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? I was rear facing til college but the past week DD has been a NIGHTMARE in the car seat. Her daycare/my work is about 30 minutes from home....My girl has a will of steel and I've been so exhausted I just couldn't stand to fight with her about it this morning. She started freaking out before I even got to the car and I just decided then and there to flip it. I am now feeling all the mama guilt for turning her before I wanted and almost cried the whole drive to work this morning. Silly hormones.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I ordered a "big sister" shirt for DD and will have her wear it when we announce to our families. :-)

My challenge right now is that I get up for work at 3am! Me and my husband took opposite shifts to both be working without putting the girls in daycare. I'm going to be quitting and staying home with newest babe and our girls again but it's stressful deciding how long I should work.

I'm still worried about having enough time and attention for both new baby and DS. I feel guilty that I won't be able to give DS 100% of my attention anymore.

DS asks everyday how the "baby in your belly" is and hugs/pats the baby constantly. It's so sweet and I know he's going to make a great big brother.

Random rant: My DH hasn't been walking the dog enough and she pooped AND peed in our bedroom this morning while I was still sleeping. I'm pretty furious.

I'm under a lot of pressure from my family for this to be a girl. In fact, I was told that if it's a boy I'll HAVE TO have another and make sure it's a girl. I don't understand why these people think I can control it? Having a girl would be wonderful, but I know another boy would be awesome too. DS insists it's a sister, so I hope for his sake he's right.
@crizz13 Be proud that you kept her RF that long!! I try not to be judgy but I keep seeing people turning their 1.5 yr olds and cringe!! Plus that's not even legal where I live.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? I am currently having many food aversions so at meals it's forcing myself to eat at which has my energy LOW. I feel guilty because our DS is very playful and inquisitive that I feel like I'm not meeting his needs at this time. I also had a complicated Postpartum period with him (Postpartum Preeclampsia) so I worry about reoccurrence.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM:
This week it truly hit me that soon (fingers crossed!) we will be giving our sweet boy a SIBLING. The thought of that potential love and bond is overwhelming in the best way.

Not a rant per say but DH is active duty military and currently away for three weeks. Just enough time for these aversions to ramp up. I could totally use someone else to tap in!
Random: Any other Pre-E Mamas in our birth month? Curious if anyone else is anxious to experience it again or if you're able to keep a totally calm open mind ("Every pregnancy is different." mentality)?
Happy and healthy, first and foremost. Secretly, a girl would be wonderful! And I know DH would be over the moon for a daughter. I'd have to prepare to accept the "Boy Mom" official title..not for the faint of heart!

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)? Blake will be 3 in August
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? no challenges yet as i haven't had any nausea (which i didn't with Blake either), but nervously awaiting the fatigue to set in. What i am concerned about is sometimes DS is tough with getting in the car seat, having to leave somewhere, etc. and it takes a lot of physicality to lift him up, etc. that i get nervous i am going to do something to this pregnancy.

He is already excited (i can't keep a secret, so we already told him), and last night at bedtime he asked if he could play with the baby yet, and is she bigger yet? (He wants a little sister he said!)

@ecolton01 do you have an activity table? She could stand at it and play with everything on it. DD enjoys taking all our movies off the shelf, too. Keeps her occupied for maybe a half hour, it's great!

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)? DS1 is 5, DS2 is 4 , DD is 18 months
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? DD is very attached fro her mama and her milk (even more so than DS2 was which I didn't think was possible) so I'm not sure how she will handle a baby around the house. Also, homeschooling with a newborn will be interesting. We did preschool with a newborn when DD was born, but kinder seems more important and official.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I'm just excited to have another. I think my kids are pretty amazing so more amazing kids is always a plus.

GTKY: Do you have a preference for a boy/girl this time around? Why? DH wants a girl because his parents had BBGB and our children's personalities have been similar. He's afraid to have a child like his youngest brother. I don't really care.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? Well, this is our second "surprise" baby. DH is getting a "surprise" visit to the dr soon so we don't have anymore of these types of surprises. Lol. Right now, I'm starting to get past the shock. I really didn't think that HPT was going to be positive. We just moved into a new house so we will be happy about this (we did plan on having a 3rd but thought we'd adopt or foster in a couple of years) but had to get past figuring out our budget before getting too excited. Daycare is sooo freaking expensive. But I think we've got that settled now and some relief has come over me. The kids will be excited when we tell them. I'm holding out until at least our first appt which is tomorrow.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: As big of a shock that this was I am excited to be a mom to three. My little man has been wanting a baby brother so... maybe he'll get his wish.

Z is starting at a preschool center in a few weeks and it's way more expensive than our in-home provider was even for infants. Right now I'm just trying to deal with being ignored 90% of the time without losing my shit.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I’m just so excited to tell them, DS1 is an awesome big brother and he’ll be old enough this time to really get what’s going on, which will be fun.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Nursing mamas: are your boobs killing you too? I nursed DS1 while pregnant with DS2 and had no boob symptoms last time. This time: pain, itchy nipples, nursing make me nauseous. Tell me this ends soon!
GTKY: Do you have a preference for a boy/girl this time around? Why? I really thought I’d want a girl, but I honestly don’t. Not that I want a boy either. But I genuinely don’t care, I’ll be so excited for either: which is an excellent place to be.
@missblaze I end up adding lemon juice to my water, and that helps (some). Something about the sourness helps a little. But definitely not a perfect solution, mores the pity.
@maueraa07 I’m dealing with the painful nursing too, and it stinks! I did nurse DS1 for 8 months of DS2’s pregnancy, so it is doable. I also worried that I’d lose my supply, but at least that time, that didn’t happen.

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)? Still Emily, 19 months but almost 20!
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? I am just so happy to be pregnant and growing the family that it is hard for me to think about concerns! I am going to need a new/bigger car. DH has a third interview (!) for a job that would pay ~40% more than he makes now and we would be able to buy anything we needed. Fingers crossed! Either way, I'm eyeing the new Subaru Outback and Forester!
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: Where do you begin? I imagine the new born phase will have its challenges, but thinking about them growing up together brings tears to my eyes!
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Rave--still just so happy about my positive appointment today. My doctor, who can be cold (in a good way lol and just what I need in the delivery room), looked me in the eyes and said, "this is the start of you bringing a second healthy baby into this world." I cried.
GTKY: Do you have a preference for a boy/girl this time around? Why? I see positives to both genders. Frankly, I just love girls, but for DH I suppose I slightly prefer a boy.

@missblaze Cooking is hard these times… Do you have a slow cooker? I find that easier since I dumb and run (literally) away from it. I have had success with hard ginger candies. I get them at Whole Foods but just saw yesterday that our Kroger has them! So cute about your daughter!

We are buying a house, tearing down and building a new house - this should all start in a few weeks. We're selling our current house and moving into a rental house, then going on a 3.5 week vacation shortly after. I'm so stressed.....

Still nervous about 2 under 2 but definitely excited! Curious what age you're supposed to start transitioning to a toddler bed. I'm hoping to not have to buy a second crib

I've told a few friends from church so they can be in prayer and they are so excited for us

I breastfee my son until a week ago due to my supply drying up. I'm wondering how breastfeeding will go and keeping a toddler busy when the time comes. Breastfeeding in the beginning is so time consuming and I worry about my son being ignored or maybe getting jealous

I've always pictured myself being a boy mom but we'll see! Ultimately praying for a healthy baby regardless

My son is 8.
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?
My son is scandalized by all things sex, and hates to talk about babies because of their tangential relationship to sex. He's gonna be so squicked out when I tell him he's got a sibling coming.
Also I landed a summer job. I'm going to have to commute 35 miles and will be working four 10-hour days each week until mid-August. I'm very excited because it's in my field and I've always liked the idea of a four day work week. I'm gonna be so effin' tired, though.

I'm just really excited to be having a second child, and looking forward to seeing my husband with our child.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: Amelia is going to be SO excited that she is going to be a big sister. Waiting to tell her until 8 weeks and right before we tell everyone else because she will not be able to keep it a secret.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Rants: These sore boobs can stop anytime. Seriously my biggest complaint right now. Raves: Sea bands have been a life saver for the nausea.
GTKY: Do you have a preference for a boy/girl this time around? Why? SO and I are both hoping for a boy to even up the numbers. Plus, both girls are sassy and I'm not sure about adding a 3rd sassy girl to the mix! However, in the long run, we will be happy as long as baby is healthy.

We have one of each, so we are set for either. The only bad thing is that they are opposite seasons (spring babies vs. winter baby)
