Good morning! I start a new part-time nanny position this week and have a few things for my own small business to do. Other than that I'm likely going to do some serious cleaning and exercising as an outlet for anxious energy. T-minus 12 days to wedding day and T-minus 11 days to first fertile week of us trying.
@SkilledSailor - Ahhhh! 12 days to wedding and 11 to FW?! How stressful and exciting! I would be anxious too.
I am doing some half-assed cleaning, mainly laundry because I haven't done that in forever. Oops. I was originally planning on going in to work because I'm anxious about the week. But then I remembered that I don't work on Mondays, and I am in no way obligated to go in to the office. So I'm not doing that.
@BusinessWife, for the record I never successfully made cookies on Saturday. I just set the butter on the counter to soften for, like, the third time.
I'm at work and really don't wanna be. I had a really nice weekend though and I'm still riding a high from that! I made a new costume (Handmaid's Tale) on Saturday and DH and I did a photo shoot for it yesterday and I'm soooo loving how it all turned out. Also it was super fun freaking out people downtown in my getup.
@SkilledSailor - sounds like a busy two weeks ahead of you!
@msmeeseeks - I wouldn't go to work if I didn't have to either!
AFM, I need sleep. I'm basically not going to see MH much this week due to him working OT. I'm going to make some calls this week to see how much acupuncture costs here. Any ladies here have experience to share with acupuncture for fertility?
Also, @Sailing_Mama - Could you advise on what sort of oils to use for fertility? I finally bought a diffuser and I'm working on getting the oils for my allergy relief mix. Do I need a carrier oil for a diffuser?

I'm getting a lot of annoying emails from one of our big clients. He has these big projects that need a crew of 4 people or more, and he wants to schedule them this week, during one of our busiest seasons of the year. Yeah dude, let me just convince 4 people that I don't even have to drop everything and drive 3 hours away for an overnight work trip on 24 hours notice.
Haha, I can share pics. I do keep a public costuming page on Facebook, the photos from this weekend are the first post on that page.
Mild TW, this costume is from Handmaid's Tale. Some in this group may find the subject matter upsetting, and there is one shot where I pretended to have a bump, just FYI if you're having a hard TTC day End TW
@futuremrsbrian - I'm insanely impressed that you made that in one day. At the same time, I'm glad I can't sew that fast because then I would be broke becaus of all the fabric I would buy!

@pebbledam -- I just started acupuncture for my foot injury and I found out that my acupuncturist was a practicing OBGYN before she switched over! She said she can do some fertility acupuncture for me when it's time. (With a discount, she charges $60/session.) I've had really good results with acupuncture in the past for injuries, so I'm looking forward to working her for the next few months.

@SkilledSailor - Wooo hooooo!!! How exciting!!! Congrats! @futuremrsbrian - That is all kinds of awesome!!! I am certainly in awe. I am wanting to get into cosplay SO BAD! but I am very afraid I'll sew my own hands together or something. LOL.
Just another brutal week here at work for me. I had an interview last week that I won't really hear much about for another 3ish weeks. The GM of the property is in the process of cleaning things up and creating new positions. FX that I can get in. I am pretty tired of coming to work and silently crying at my desk half the day after interacting with my boss. I will get to shenanigan with my sister after work though so that will be loads of fun! I am pretty excited about that!

That's exciting! I agree with @KariAnn323- basil for sauces and caprese salads! Also, do some thyme for soups or chicken dishes, and maybe cilantro too for homemade salsa!

And I'm home for the rest of the day. Boss is having a meeting with PO owners tomorrow morning. FX I get an exception. In the mean time I'm going to get some paint samples for our front door and new hardware for my grandma's credenza (nothing like spending money when you're not making money)
@pebbledam That's exciting that you got your first diffuser! I know you'll love it - even people who don't care about the benefits of oils generally get hooked on them You shouldn't need a carrier oil, but double check as there are so many different types of diffusers these days.
As for essential oils that support fertility... there are a few that are good throughout your cycle, and then a few that are best for either FP or LP.
Anytime oils: Geranium and ylang ylang are both considered to be useful for balancing hormones (plus ylang ylang is an aphrodisiac, just use it sparingly as it can be overpowering and is very floral); I use them both throughout my cycle. Frankincense in one oil that often comes up in fertility blends - it doesn't have an effect on your hormones itself, but it is a really good support oil for the other ones, plus is nice and calming. You can use it at anytime as well.
Folicular Phase oils: Clary sage and fennel are both good for estrogen production, as is coriander (which also helps with CM).
Luteal Phase oils: Marjoram and Thyme are really good for progesterone production.
Other helpful oils: Cedarwood is another oil that is good for CM, as is Rose Otto (also good for libido). Rosemary helps promote ovarian health, while lemon and sweet orange are good for uterine health.
Oils that benefit men: Blue spruce supports testosterone production. Cedarwood, clary sage and thyme are beneficial for that as well.
So - you have a LOT of choices. Make sure that you (and your H) find the blend appealing - you can put a few drops on a cotton ball to see how you like it before you start diffusing, in case one of you really hates a certain oil. I'd also recommend picking a few that you like and have some of the key uses for you. Don't get overwhelmed, and definitely don't rush out and spend hundreds of dollars on a ton of oils all at once.
I'm in Sephora and I desperately need a new foundation and concealer. I asked for help and I was told they'd get someone to help me, but they keep helping other people. I think it's because I'm dressed kind of bummy today, but it's making me feel bad. I'm giving them five more minutes and then I'm going to leave- they're own fault for being rude.

@doxiemoxie212 I was a brat and left. I feel all bad about myself now so I'm gonna go home and cry into some ice cream. I really needed to be show how to apply foundation and concealer more than anything. I feel like I've totally forgotten how to do makeup in the past few years.
I know I was being ignored because of how I look. My hair is messy and I have no makeup on. But you'd think a girl who looks like she's in desperate need of makeup would have been a good customer to work with.
I just wanted to treat myself because of all the stress I've been under at work. I guess my treat will have to wait.

@jsnakehole check out Lisa Eldridge and/or Pixiwoo on youtube. Their videos are very low key, informative and easy to follow. Specifically these two videos:
If you want something more full on, Tati and Chloe Morello have great videos, I just find their looks to be more stage make-upy than I'd personally want for real life.
@jsnakehole Ugh, sorry for assholes ruining your makeup fun I only got into makeup back in August. Kathleenlights on YouTube is great for basic/natural makeup tutorials and product reviews. Kathleen has dry/sensitive skin and covers products related to that. Tati is also a great YouTuber who covers makeup and skin care for oily/combination skin. Give it a few videos and you'll be able to walk in and out of a Sephora with both middle fingers in the air. You got this girl!
@jsnakehole I would have left too. I get pissed when I feel like I'm being overlooked due to frumpy clothing days. MH is even worse about it. We'll be in line for a restaurant or something and it will be in line 5 minutes longer than we were told and he'll get all agro like "we're fucking leaving NOW!" And won't ever go back, even if they get 5 stars on yelp and are known to have rude staff.
Also I too forgot how to wear make up and am going to watch all these youtube suggestions tomorrow...
A new makeup thread sounds fun, @LoveInDC! Sorry about the poor treatment at Sephora, @jsnakehole. I mean, you were there to sample and buy foundation, I wouldn't wear makeup to the store either!!
Here's a little something I learned today- getting drunk on a Monday night is a horrible idea. Ugghhhh.
Any Bachelor/Bachelorette fans here? Want to start a Bump specific bracket? I love to hate it, but I am also willing to include those who love to love it or just straight up hate it (but still watch it?).
@doxiemoxie212 There used to be a Bachelor/Bachelorette thread before my time, but there wasn't one last season. Earlier this year, a few of us Bravo addicts created a VPR/RHW thread, so there are definitely some trash TV fans hiding around. Hopefully you find a few to geek out with
@LoveInDC yay! Have you guys ever done a bracket? ABC had an official version for Nick's season which was dope, but it doesn't look like they've updated it since... which is weird because Bachelorette airs in a week? I'm sort of annoyed. They don't even have contestants up yet for me to make fun of.
@doxiemoxie212 Like I said, the Bachelor/Bachelorette threads were before my time, but I'm sure there are a few people around who may know and be willing to participate. As for me, that show is a no go. I haven't seen it before and DH's ex was obsessed. So I'm not overly interested and DH is vehemently against it. Whomp.
Sorry @doxiemoxie212 - I'm lame because I don't really like much reality TV.
Because I'm a hypocrite I'm watching Face Off reruns while I fold laundry.
I was thinking about starting a GTKY thread for people to explain their usernames. I know we did one a couple of months ago, but I feel like we have enough newbs and returns that it might be enlightening and fun again.
