How many weeks old is baby? 3 weeks (38 gestation)

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? Nope

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? He's doing great with feeding and weight gain. Has anyone had a clogged duct before? I thought I had one last night because my breast was still hard and sore after pumping, but I think I worked it out with ice, heat, and hand expression. I was trying all of the things. 

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? Someday I'll have to figure out this sleep when baby sleeps thing.

Rants/raves/questions? NBR rave: DH took me out to sushi last night, and they had fried oreos as a dessert. Those are two of my favorite things. Then without prompting, he helped me with my breast issues when we got home; I think there's a different kind of intimacy in a marriage once you have a kid together, and it's both weird and really sweet. 

GTKY: Was your pregnancy what you expected? Is there anything you'd have done differently? I really enjoyed being pregnant, but I didn't make it to that uncomfortable last month. It wasn't quite what I expected because I didn't expect to go early. If I were to do something differently, I'd worry less about things that I had no control over anyways.

I sure hope this baby has dropped a little and I'm dialated some for doc to strip the membranes.

Just need to install the car seat.

GTKY: Was your pregnancy what you expected? Is there anything you'd have done differently?
I would have exercised more and not gone as crazy with the sweets. Still this pregnancy has been better than expected even with the minor hiccups like GBS positive and possible c section needed.

How far along are you? 38 Weeks

How big is baby? A jackfruit? I give up on that. She's too big to fit in my uterus anymore!!

Any appointments this week? Growth scan and 38 week appointment tomorrow

Symptoms? Heartburn like crazy. And my (self diagnosed) SPD/pelvic pain is back. Hoping that means she's dropped a little...? No true contractions though - just a couple times I faked myself out. I don't get the feeling she's in any hurry. I think we may have a June baby on our hands...

Rants/Raves/Questions? None really. This weekend was super busy with family as it was graduation and Mother's Day. It was so nice to see everyone but I was so glad when we had the house back to ourselves last night!

Progress made or plans for baby preparation? I finally hung things on the wall in the nursery this weekend. It feels so much more complete with that done! Today I want to put up the book ledges. Then it'll basically be finished. Have a couple loads of baby laundry and I should sterilize pump parts/bottles too. AND I vow to pack my hospital bag today before our appointment tomorrow!  

GTKY: Was your pregnancy what you expected? Is there anything you'd have done differently? I had no idea what to expect since this was my first. I'm shocked I didn't gain a bunch of weight or swell much (yet at least!) but I do wish I'd stayed more active throughout the pregnancy. I hadn't been exercising much when I found out so I was afraid to do much. I'd really like to get in better shape before #2 so I can do better with that next time!

GTKY: Was your pregnancy what you expected? Is there anything you'd have done differently?

This pregnancy was a lot easier than I thought. I was so fortunate not to have many of the annoying symptoms that many women seem to experience. I exercised regularly up until.about 34 weeks and since then I've been walking everyday. I definitely think that's contributes to how well I've been feeling.

5 days old! 

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? 
We had a weight/jaundice check. He's at 5% weight loss which is the same when we left the hospital so no concerns. His jaundice levels are elevated slightly but not enough to need to treat.

My milk supply has come in so I'm hoping he starts gaining quickly. Even his newborn clothes are so big on him!

The all night clusterfeeding is exhausting. And he doesn't like his bassinet or to be anywhere except with me apparently. I know this phase will pass, so I just keep trying to lay him down.

Rave: DH is awesome and is totally taken on DD1 and DD2. 

GTKY: Was your pregnancy what you expected? Is there anything you'd have done differently?
Not at all what I expected as we had so much testing, ultrasounds, appointments, etc. with all the concerns regarding his size. It was an emotional roller coaster and I'm glad to be on the other side with a healthy baby!

How many weeks old is baby? 3 days! 

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? We had our first pediatrician apt today, she isn't getting enough nutrients from me, so we are going to supplement and see another lactation specialist. 

She also has to see a pediatric surgeon for a hernia, so we are hoping she is ok and it's and easy fix.


Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? She lost 12%, so we are supplementing. My milk came in though, so that's good! 


Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? she had two awful nights, the last two have been ok. So fingers crossed! That's the nice thing about supplementing my husband was able to finish with her after I fed her so I could go back to bed.

Baby is 2 weeks old.

We had his 2 week appointment and he is growing well. He is back to birth weight plus an additional 10 oz so apparently he is a bf superstar, which is so nice because I was really debating initially whether to bf or not but I feel compelled to do it since he is so good at it already. 

We are full of raves today but maybe because he's feeding so well he is also sleeping well at night. The last two nights he's only woken up once between 10 and 6:30 am. I have been able to get some much-needed sleep and hoping the trend continues. 

GTKY: I expected this to be a more difficult pregnancy and it was. The one surprising thing was that I expected my SPD to be at least as bad as it was with DD but it never got bad at all, which was a good surprise.

How many weeks old is baby? DS is 1 week 3 days. Yesterday was my EDD. 

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? No appointments this week. He had his first ped appointment and a separate appointment for his circ last week. On Friday he was 4oz above his birthweight. 

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? Although I think he has a tongue tie, he's nursing well. I'll have to ask about it at his appointment next week. 

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? He sleeps well in that he will sleep on a flat surface, which is completely different from his Velcro baby sister. He does wake up every few hours to eat but goes back down well. 

Rants/raves/questions? I love how chill he is. DD is not, so it's a nice balance. 

GTKY: Was your pregnancy what you expected? Is there anything you'd have done differently? This pregnancy was both different and the same as my pregnancy with DD in a lot of ways. I was way more sick and exhausted this time. I'm still so damn happy I went into labor on my own before my induction date. My previous induction with DD was perfect, and in the end, I did get some piticin this time and pushed for the same amount both times. I'm just happy that he came on his own because I had some guilt about scheduling his induction early even though it was for medical concerns.

How many weeks old is baby? 6 weeks 4 days on Monday (7 weeks tomorrow!! eek)

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? Nothing this week..2 month check up on 5/31

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? I'm anxious to see what he weighs in a couple weeks but as of now everything is going well. 

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? No real changes here..Henry wants to eat every 2.5/3hrs at night just like during the day so not getting any more sleep than before.

Rants/raves/questions? I'm extremely thankful to have had him before he was due and for his due date. it's annoyingly hot (yeah I'm complaining at 80-90°) so the thought of being pregnant right now...I hope those that are stay comfortable!  we don't have air conditioning in our rental home so Henry is already spending his days in just a diaper and I'm constantly checking his hands and feet as those chill first. 

GTKY: Was your pregnancy what you expected? Is there anything you'd have done differently? I wasn't sure what to expect. I did think it'd be "worse". I had an easy, no complications, no weight gain pregnancy. Morning sickness was a one time deal.   I wish I would have changed my eating habits more to make more nutritional choices for the growing baby.
