2. How are you feeling? DD posts are welcome if you need support I feel good! I have to rave about my OB. I only chose her because my mom recommended her OB to me, but she wasn't accepting new patients so I just randomly chose her out of the ones who were available in the practice. The past few months I went a little crazy and felt like I needed to see the RE ASAP but she (and DH) tried to calm me down and get me to hold off a bit. Also, the office isn't super conveniently located for us, so I wondered if we should switch. But yesterday when we saw her she said she was so excited when she heard we got a positive test. She also wheeled in the U/S machine and immediately started and was like, "Sorry, maybe I should've talked a little first but I thought you would be anxious!" Annnd she rescheduled our appointment to this week from last week because she knew how anxious we would be waiting to find out since it had been a long year for us. I'm so happy I randomly chose her! Haha.
3. Any upcoming appointments and/or updates from recent appointments? Yesterday we got to see the little heartbeat! My OB was super thorough in making sure we could see it and said she always makes sure because of the Friends episode where Rachel can't see the baby. Hahaha.
4. Questions/concerns? No! Just excited to hear how all my TTGP ladies are doing!
@breezybee Oh no, sorry about your ankle! But YAAAAS Monday will be here soon! I'm so excited for you!
2. How are you feeling? DD posts are welcome if you need support Pretty good right now. Symptoms come and go, but overall I can't really complain. It's enough to know I'm pregnant, but not enough to make it miserable. So, I call that a happy balance!
3. Any upcoming appointments and/or updates from recent appointments? Had my appointment on Tuesday. Healthy heartbeat and all looked good. Next appointment isn't for another 2.5 weeks, but it should be a really busy couple of weeks with a lot of fun stuff, so hopefully that helps it fly by.
4. Questions/concerns? Anyone have experience with NIPT tests? When did you have the blood draw for it? I thought I read you usually get it around weeks 9 or 10, but my appointment isn't until week 11+1. Originally the front desk tried to make the appointment for like week 13, and when I questioned it they pushed it back. But I still feel like it's late. I mean, I want the most accurate results, but I'd also like them as soon as possible.

I can eat oranges but even my beloved fruit and dairy are very hit or miss. Oh and the bloat... its ridiculous! at the end of the day I look like I'm 6 months pregnant
3. Any upcoming appointments and/or updates from recent appointments? I have another ultrasound next Thursday. I hope everything looks good... but its just going to be before my loss date (gestation wise) so I don't think I will feel fully comfortable until the NT scan.
4. Questions/concerns? no, I'm going to be out of town this weekend and its going to be a lot of driving just me and the twins because DH couldn't get the time off. I hope it goes well tonight since i'm not getting on the road till 5:30ish and its a solid 5hr drive.... (plus I've been racking out at 8 or 9 all week!)
@breezybee sorry about the ankle. @ktcakes87 glad everything looked good at your appointment @MJDsquared so glad you love your OB and that she is sensitive to your nerves! @Tennis11785 I don't know, for some reason I had it in my head that they did it the same time they did the NT scan at 11-13weeks but I could totally be making that up!

Thanks guys - my ankle feels great today - it was super swollen and sore Monday but then magically went away after some ice and elevation. Lol who knew? @ktcakes87 You're flying through this! @MJDsquared Your doc sounds so amazing! how great of her to just skip right to the good part for you! @Tennis11785 Im so happy you have good first Appt! I don't have any doerience with NIPT tests, so I can't help you there - sorry. Maybe ask the STM's @wabash15 Girl, I'm sorry you're not not feeling great. Haha I was going to suggest tons of coffee for your drive, but then remembered we can't go caffeine crazy. Lol. I always forget Try taking a big nap before you get on the road. Impossible with young twins, I know. Good luck!
@breezybee Monday is so soon! All things crossed that it's a wonderful appt -- keep us posted! @ktcakes87 Jealous of your frequent appointments! How exciting though that you're so close to 12 weeks! @MJDsquared It's awesome that your doctor is so sensitive to your feelings/needs. It sounds like a good fit. @tennis11785 Yay for a good appointment! When my doctor scheduled mine, he stressed that it needed to happen between 12-13 weeks and not before or after. @wabash15 Ugh, that's a lot of driving... hopefully you have a fun trip planned to make the long drive worth it!
1. Due date? 12/11
2. How are you feeling? DD posts are welcome if you need support I feel so good/normal I've been really anxious all week about the loss of symptoms (and then I journeyed through Google and intensified my fears...) and was excited today at my follow-up OB appointment when he walked in with a doppler because I thought, "great! I'll be able to relax once I get to hear that little heartbeat!" But after a few minutes of trying, he said it was probably too early since we could only hear mine. I trust my doctor, and Google backs up the fact that a lot of women can't hear a doppler heartbeat before 12 weeks... but I feel sick over it. I'm seriously thinking about paying OOP (looks like it'll only cost around $50) for an elective ultrasound just for ease of mind, but H thinks I'm being silly. Guys, what would you do? Am I overreacting?
3. Any upcoming appointments and/or updates from recent appointments? NT scan is on June 1st and it can't come soon enough!
4. Questions/concerns? Yes. In addition to not hearing the heartbeat today, I was told that I'm a carrier for cystic fibrosis (this was a bit of a shock, honestly - I know of no one on either side of my family to have it). DH is going to get tested this week so I'm trying not to freak out until it's really necessary... but honestly I'm an anxious wreck right now. If you've ever gotten potentially bad though totally uncertain news, how did you cope? Research as much as possible to be armed with knowledge? Turn of the laptop and avoid thinking about it as much as possible until more information can be known? I'm trying to be rational, but I'm so worried.

That's the only reason I have had so many. Have you asked your doctor to have an early U/S?

@CandyApple2012 First off, I'm so sorry that you're going through this right now. I'm sure it's really scary and has completely taken over your thoughts. With that said, Im sure your doctor is right, and it's just too early to hear it on the Doppler. I think that was stupid of him to ty it without being sure he would hear it, though. If your doctors office can give you an elective US, and they say it's safe, then by all means, go for it. As far as the cystic fibrosis, I would try to remain calm (impossible, I know), and know that only you're a carrier. You don't know your husband is yet, and the chances he is are very slim. Have him get tested asap. While you wait for the results, I personally would want to have some info. Do a little research, but try not to get too wrapped up in it. @breezybee I hope your ankle heals up quickly! @ktcakes87 So glad your glucose test went well! @MJDsquared Yay for an awesome OB! @Tennis11785 they actually cannot do the NT scan before 11 weeks, otherwise the measurements would be inaccurate. The way the clinic's work here, there's an MFM radiologist who reads the scans right after they're done and you get the results at the appointment, so they recommend you get your blood draw done at least 3 days before, at anytime after 9 weeks so they have all the information ready to interpret your results. Though I know some clinics do the blood draw and the scan at the same appointment and you go to your OB for the results at a later date. @wabash15 Fx for you driving that far with 2 littles. I can barely get a round trip to the grocery store out of my little guy! @CandyApple2012 I'm so sorry you're having such a stressful week! I'm the type of person to read ALL THE INFORMATION and make my decisions for myself. More info makes me feel better than less. There is no such thing as ignorant bliss over here.
1. Due date? 12/14 - to be confirmed
2. How are you feeling? hit and miss. I don't know how long I am going to be able to keep up nights, I was starting to feel really good and kind of into a groove sleep/function wise then I had to do nights last night and I've been thrown through a loop again. But other than some mild nausea and just being so tired, I feel okay. Busted out some maternity pants this week and they feel awesome!
3. Any upcoming appointments and/or updates from recent appointments? ultrasound TOMORROW! Yay! I cannot wait to see that little bean and see that heartbeat flickering away! I'll be 9+1 so it might even look a little more personish! which is exciting
4. Questions/concerns? Nope. Had a coworker draw my blood to test my iron and hemoglobin yesterday at work. Hoping it gives me some answers for feeling so tired and winded all the time.
@candyapple2012 - If you makes you feel any better, with two of my pregnancies they tried to use the doppler at about 8 weeks. With one, they weren't able to detect the heartbeat with the doppler, so they immediately did a vaginal u/s and found the hb...everything was fine!! I'm surprised they didn't try one and then do the other just in case to check. If it was me, I'd probably not get the elective and just try and wait it out until your next appointment (which I assume is somewhere around week 12?). But I'd be a nervous wreck the whole time - I don't think you're being dramatic being nervous and considering the elective.

@CandyApple2012 I don't think you are being over dramatic for considering an elective US. Like PP, I'm surprised OB didn't offer after not using Doppler but I also know it's hard to detect HB with Doppler this early.
@kvacmak Thinking of you today! GL at your ultrasound!

@wabash15 Hope the drive goes smoothly! @CandyApple2012 I'm sorry for all the stress you're going through. Your doctor should've done an U/S after to ease your mind! Or not even tried the doppler. Ugh. I hope your DH's testing is done soon/results get in quickly and all is good so that weight is lifted from your shoulders. @kvacmak Yay for an U/S tomorrow!
@kvacmak - Hope the u/s goes well today!! Yes - NT has to be between 11-13. I've got that scheduled for 12 weeks. I was asking about the NIPT testing, which is where they can pull the baby's DNA from just a blood draw (like the Harmony test). I thought I read it could be as early as week 9, and mine is scheduled for the middle of week 11. I also found the thread on here about NIPT tests - it seems like most people are having it sometime in week 10. I think I'll just suck it up and wait the couple of days. One week seems more manageable than two.

@wabash15 yay for patient babies! I can't imagine road tripping with little ones - my niece HATED being in her car seat and it was rough to travel 30 minutes with her when she was tiny.
I was was able to schedule an elective ultrasound yesterday evening and I'm so glad I did! Baby is just fine and was wiggling its little arms and legs! It was amazing to see and I feel such a sense of relief -- best $39 ever spent. Going forward, I'll try to remember that if my doctor doesn't seem concerned, there's probably not a problem... easier said than done, of course.
I appreciate the support and advice, and while I've done some reading about cystic fibrosis (scary stuff, I really had no idea) I will wait to get DH's bloodwork before I freak out again.

Thanks guys! I just posted my pic in the ultrasounds thread. WE'RE HAVING TWINS DUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!!! To say I'm freaking out and surprised is an understatement. My husband and I have NO TWINS in either of our families and we did this au natural. Freaking out. My NP said she had a weird feeling that we'd see twins right when she saw me and she said that has never happened to her in 20 years! And my husband's hair stylist told him 6 months ago that she thought we'd have twins. Apparently, everyone knew but me lol. @wabash15 Ill need some word and of encouragement sometimes over the next 7 months! WTF how did this happen???!!!!
Thanks you guyzzzzz! I woke up at 4:45 this morning and could not go back to sleep because I just cannot stop thinking about this. Definitely more excited than freaked out now, so that's good.
@breezybee sorry I just saw this now! congratulations! I will tell you I was internally freaking out for a good 2-3 weeks. I was excited don't get me wrong but I knew how much extra work it would be and it took a bit to adjust. That is totally normal! did they tell you what kind of twins? from the photo I'm guessing mono/di. I am happy to answer any questions, there is also the MOM thread. congrats again. You may want to research an MFM. some ladies see their OB and an MFM or transition fully to MFM.
eta: sorry I've been more of a lurker lately. I had a lot of spotting over the weekend, its better but still there. I know its normal but still messes with your head a bit. I hope everything looks good on Thursday!

@candyapple2012 step away from google. Sorry your doc did not follow up with an us. It's rude to make you nervous for no reason.

I appreciate the support and advice, and while I've done some reading about cystic fibrosis (scary stuff, I really had no idea) I will wait to get DH's bloodwork before I freak out again.
...the worry will get better when they're on the outside, right?! (Joking! I'm sure it only intensifies!)

They couldn't tell from the initial US what kind I'm having, but my NP thinks it's either momo (which I'm terrified of), or mo/di. I have a detailed US scheduled for next Wednesday. They'll be able to tell me what we're dealing with then. FX for me please
