Re: UO 5/11

  • +1 for hating fidget spinners. Things are so damn noisy anyway that it distracts me! I tried to let the kiddos use them but it lasted all of 30 minutes before I was taking them.

Also glad I'm not the only one who throws away cards. I feel an overwhelming sense of guilt throwing away somebodys baby but I can't keep ALL of them!!

  • I had my fill of those spinners with my one encounter. Some kid had one in the waiting room at my OB office... really annoying. My mom is a 5th grade teacher and just in the last few weeks she had confiscated a small box full of those things.

My UO (or maybe a FFFC) is I toss out any non-immediate family Christmas Cards and Birth Annuncements with photographs on them about a month after we get them. If I kept them, I'd have a massive box full and for what reason? I also don't keep cards in general that are sent to us.
I throw everything out as soon as I get it from the mailbox. Never sent one myself because of this.
  • @wineanddogs I hope you aren't referring to makeupbytiffanyd I love her and I feel like she always honest! Haha. My husband makes fun of me for watching her. But we both live in Atlanta and I feel like we relate in some things like motherhood. But I could just be super naïve for thinking she is real.
  • @jadkins2 you live in Atlanta? Yay for another Georgia girl!
  • Yea ma'am.... Born and bred
  • @jadkins2 are you in the city?
  • I work there but live south in newnan.
  • @jadkins2 haha I love her! She is one of the few that I still follow. I love her reviews of products and she isn't afraid to make her audience laugh a bit. I do wonder where on earth she puts all her makeup and how does she go through it all!? And can I be one of the people she gives her products away to??

  • Haha.  I know right. She is the only one I like to watch! And I love that she does high end stuff and drug store brands. Mix of both!
  • @DeansGirl14 I looooooooooove salad. I can't pass up a good salad even if I'm overpaying for it. Often at home I'll just toss some meat on a bed of lettuce and add some salsa. I love it.

@DeansGirl14 I'm with you on the salad thing. Why am I paying to essentially eat water? I'm more of a burger girl myself. Don't worry, I make it healthy: I put lettuce, tomato, and avocado!
  • @WineAndDogs  OO!  Which ones?!  My faves to hate-follow are the former fashion bloggers who are now moms and can't really figure out where they "fit" anymore.
  • I am tired of people saying "oh wow" when they find out I am pregnant.  Like I am too old to have kids or maybe they think I needed to announce we were trying before it happened.  Seriously what is wrong with a simple congratulations?
  • @PinkPrincessPiper Yep, 30 students, most have spinners (some have several.) And it's one more thing they have to worry about losing/getting stolen (we've had a few come up missing!)
  • I have a U/O this week! I always think its funny when people get offended if you compare pets (mostly dogs) with children. TBH - apart from the fact that my childs development will obviously surpass our dogs at some point, i actually do find their needs and idiosyncrasies very similar at this age (DD is 15 months) im obviously aware that raising a kid is so much harder then keeping an animal, but i just always get a bit amused when people get so offended by the comparisons.

I hate the Beatles. I don't like their music & I especially hate John Lennon specifically.

I can respect not liking one of their phases, but they spanned so many genres, covered so much classic rock n roll, and created whole styles of music that no one dreamed of doing. If you have ever sat down to attempt to play just one of their songs, you would have a deep appreciation for them as songwriters. Except maybe ringo, he wasn't that great at writing music.
  • @LSP87 I hate them, too! I've never understood the hype. My parents love classic rock and I grew up listening to pretty much everything but the Beatles.  That said, I'm a huge Eric Clapton fan and I read somewhere you're either a Clapton fan or Beatles fan. I love Clapton. Saw him in concert a few years ago and the man is so talented. He's been through so much in his life. I've read his autobiography twice and it's incredible.

@taylormarie923  I don't like any of their phases. I'm not saying they are bad musicians or bad songwriters but I just don't like any of their songs. Plus, John Lennon was a huge turd & Paul McCartney just irks me for some reason.

I do love Eric Clapton, @SouthernMama15
  • I....what? Also, I thought the debate was between the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Answer: they're all good, but if forced to choose, Led Zeppelin.

  • I've heard Beatles vs. Elvis? I like both! But I like the older poppier Beatles more than the '70s trippy Beatles, because I am not cool. Hahaha. (Also probably why I say Beatles > Rolling Stones?)
  • The Beatles vs Eric Clapton thing is because of Patty Boyd.
  • @SouthernMama15 That makes more sense. I would just say she has good taste in musicians.

  • Which makes no sense because Eric and George were good friends.
