R/R: This is a really personal story and it's full of TMI: MH has a long-established issue with delayed ejaculation (DE) and cannot finish during sex. He always has to finish manually, so you can see how this is an issue while TTC. We thought we could make it work, but it's not going well and I have been doing a lot of reading about at-home IVI and I think that it might be worth a shot because at this point it would give us a better chance than our current method. Right now we are lucky if we manage to get in one successful HIO per FW. DH and I talked yesterday and I think he's coming to terms with the fact that having this big, passionate moment of conception probably isn't in the cards for us. And as you all know, TTC sex gets tedious even if you aren't dealing with the added complication of DE. At-home IVI isn't the most scientific of the artificial inseminations, so I'm not if I would belong here anymore. This is such a strong community of scientifically-oriented people that DIY IVI seems pretty hokey in comparison.
CS/Q: nope
GTKY: I'm really digging "Say You Won't Let Go" by James Arthur right now.
ETA for clarification.

CS/Q:
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? The Chainsmokers Paris
R/R: We went and saw Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday and then went to a Japanese steakhouse. When we got home my husband and I were in the bathroom off and on for an hour. I'm glad there's 2 bathrooms here because my husband is a jerk and he just stays in the bathroom for a full hour or more. I just had to keep going back. I'm not sure what caused it, the movie popcorn or the steakhouse. But it was unpleasant!
CS/Q: My chart is doing a weird thing. It's swinging back and forth, which is usually not a good sign for me.
GTKY: "I Thought She Knew" - N'Sync. Don't judge me! When I was a pre-teen and I couldn't sleep, I'd play this song on repeat and pretend like someone cared about me. Sad, but true! And now in my saddest moments, if I remember, I'll play this song and it's very soothing.

@pebbledam that definitely adds a difficult twist to the TTC process. So I've never heard of at home IVF but is this essentially like a turkey baster method? That's what's coming to mind. Whatever you have to do, I hope it works it for you!! Can you try any other methods to help him out a bit (I'm thinking c-ring Or something like that)?

@LadyMillil - GL at the doctor today. That don't Paris is catchy! @Mythril - Sorry about the food poisoning! I hope the movie was good! @50Wife - I promise that he's tried everything in his 11 years of sexual activity, which is why I don't bother asking for help there. But yeah, IVI is basically the turkey baster method (lol), but with a needless syringe so you have more control and less air bubbles. @BusinessWife - FX you hear back today about the position!

R/R: Not sure what my body is doing, I had OPKs looking like they were progressing toward positive and then last night's was super faint. But this morning the line is darker again and my temp is up some. One of those frustrating "just have to wait and see" situations, I guess...
CS/Q: Nope, no point!
GTKY: I'm going to say "Shiny" from Moana because it's already been stuck in my head for months and I'm not sick of it yet! So SHINY!
@pebbledam, sorry for the frustrating TTC situation. I don't have any great practical advice but I will say that I hope you keep posting here regardless of what method you're using.
@BusinessWife, yay for the great interview! I hope you hear back soon.
@Mythril, oh, no, food poisoning is the worst! At least you saw the movie first and not after eating...
R/R: I should be moving closer to o but I'm not obsessing over it the same way I have been. Just hoping for the best. That being said - tried to HIO with H a few times and he keeps turning me down. We haven't had sex in over a month.

Umm. Probably Hallelujah by Pentatonix. Their areangement gives me chills every time.
@pebbledam I'm sorry you're dealing with that. We actually have the same problem but we have come up with some tricks for it that have been successful. I wish you all the luck in figuring out something that works for you!

R/R:
CS/Q: So I got my first ever positive OPK yesterday, and we hadn't done it in like a week because of a lovely bug that swept through my house the last few days. We managed to HIO last night, and will again tonight, but I'm not sure if we've already missed our shot? The nuances of timing/testing still escape me when it comes to O-ing, so any advice here is appreciated.
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? Definitely Yorktown from Hamilton. I already listen to that an embarrassing number of times a day.
R/R: i literally JUST remembered I didn't temp this morning.
CS/Q:
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? I've had Beyonce's Flawless stuck in my head for a few hours now (thanks to an add for a shirt that said "I woke up like this"), and I'm kinda ok with it

@Augusta108 - Sounds like you're getting close to O. The best time to test is really late morning/early afternoon as most women have their LH surge in the early hours of morning (while sleeping) , but it can't be detected in urine for another 6 hours or so. FX you get your blaring +OPK today! @Dilynne - Hopefully YH will feel up to it soon. I know it's been a hard month for you both. @futuremrsbrian - I'm open to suggestions, but at this point it would have to be pretty outside-the-box. Feel free to PM if you aren't ready to disclose those intimate details in a public forum yet (I know you're new, so I don't want to scare you away). Since you haven't been charting long, you'll figure out the OPKs with a little practice, but a +OPK means you should O within the next 12-36 hours. HIO! @50Wife - I went back and read my comment and I realize that I sounded rather snippy. I'm sorry. I really do appreciate your feedback. I guess it's become a sore subject for MH and now me.

@Mythril NSYNC! So many feels for my teenage brain.

R/R: I'm getting discouraged with temping. I know it's only CD8, but my temps look all over the place and I've got 4 open circles. Plus, I forgot to temp this morning right when I woke up so I didn't do it. I'm going to keep going with it but I've still got this feeling that I'm doing something wrong and messing it up somehow. Rave- my dad might be moving to the town where we live, so, we are going to look at some houses today for him. That should be fun.
CS/Q: Not right now.
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I never get tired of that song, no matter how many times I hear it.
@pebbledam oh no not at all!! Just from stuff you've shared on here, I figured you've tried it all but I still felt the need to throw in my one piece of random advice just to double check!
@kbamomma33. GREAT TUNE!!! I feel that way about Freebird, too, except it was better when I was single ;)
Can you set an early temping alarm so get remember to take it at the same time every day? You can always sleep in later on the days you don't actually have to get up at that time. Or use a fitbit vibrating alarm if that's better?
@pebbledam i'm sorry that you and YH are struggling. Do what you gotta do to get KU... at home IUI doesn't sound hokey at all. And i agree with the other ladies that you of course should still participate here.
@LadyMillil GL at the US today, what a bummer it's during AF
@Mythril food poisoning is the WORST, hope you're feeling better today. Funny you mention two bathrooms... when we were apartment and house hunting, DH was like "we MUST have two toilets. I don't care where or how, but there has to be two"... for that exact reason LOL

CS/Q: nah
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? IDK, something probably classical so I don't pry my eyes out after getting sick of it? Something that blends into the background and is easy to sleep to?
I may P&G because a.) I don't want to drown the board in my negativity, and b.) we have a big work event today that'll keep me running in circles for the rest of the day.
Month/Cycle: 10/12

WAYDTGKU: RE appointment on June 6th because there's no way in bloody hell I'll get KU on this last cycle beforehand.
R/R: AF showed up today (of course I was holding on to a sliver of hope that I just O'd later than I thought...), so I'm emotional. Because of DH's low count, I've asked him to limit caffeine to one cup of coffee per day, and I hound him to take his vitamins constantly. He never takes them unless I remind him. And this morning I watched him pour multiple cups of coffee. He's the only one of us with a current IF diagnosis, but he's the one who really doesn't want to spend the money on a RE.
I didn't say anything to him because a) I'm emotional and it wouldn't be productive, and b.) I had to go to work. But,
CS/Q:
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? Second Chance by Mating Ritual (the irony is not lost on me)
WAYDTGKU: PNV, BBT, OPK, CB fertility monitor, pre-seed, CM when I can find any. I have my appointment with the PA to a RE today to get everything checked out after last cycle being so weird. So FX that goes well.
R/R: My hand alternately hurts and feels numb. I'm at home today in bed with my hand on an elevated ice pack. Also, typing all this with my left hand (by the grace of autocorrect) is no fun.
CS/Q: Got what looks like a temperature spike this morning, although my temp time was an hour off from yesterday. Still no "peak" reading on the fertility monitor. Yesterday's OPKs were a little confusing (one was maybe positive but I didn't look at it until 30 min later) so who knows what's going on. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what my temp does. I thought maybe my hand injury had something to do with the temp spike but Dr. Google says people actually usually have lower BBT after an injury. So yeah. FX it's a real temp spike and my kits all just missed my LH surge!
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? Something without words, maybe The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams or Spontaneous Me by Lindsey Stirling. I get songs stuck in my head really easily and have one stuck in it almost all the time. So yeah a song with no words would be nice.
@pebbledam - **TW pregnancy mentioned** FWIW (and I know nothing about the safety of this or the actual specifics of how she did it) I have an acquaintance who is gay and married to another woman, and she got KU using a turkey baster (I do know that specific) and donor sperm from a male friend. So yeah it can totally work. Don't leave us just because you might try it!
@JJMNO1616 - Woohoo! Get out and stay gone in the best way possible!
@Mythril - noooo! Food poisoning is the worst. hope you're feeling better!
@BusinessWife - crossing even my numb, injured fingers for you to get the job!
@Dilynne - I love Pentatonix! I'm sorry YH keeps turning you down.
@kbamomma33 - I feel you on the temping. I have trouble waking up (sleep so hard I don't hear my alarm) and have open circles all over the place too. I might need to use a vibrating alarm like @BusinessWife suggested but who knows if that would wake me up.
@kbamomma33@sunniegrly someone on here a while back suggested keeping the thermometer under your pillow, and I tried that and it made a world of difference for me to remember to wake up/not get up and pee first/etc.
This is going to be a P&G today. Feeling miserable and down today.

WAYDTGKU: PNV BBT CM OPK
R/R: So it freaking figures that I get my CH today and then AF rears her ugly head the minute I hit the bathroom this morning. Im an emotional mess right now. I get too up in my head when stuff doesn't go "right" or the way I think it should. That's years of the abuse from my father where every part of my life was compared to my sister's showing up again. It took forever to get any sign of O and then 6dpo...boom...big ol FU from my body. Blah. Ok I'm done. Don't want to be a negative Nancy especially considering I'm still only in the very beginning of my journey.
CS/Q: eff my chart.
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? Because I'm feeling blah I'm gonna go with "3 Libras" by A Perfect Circle. Although even when I'm not feeling blah I could listen to that song on repeat.
Sorry to be a P&G today, we have department meetings all day today! But I have been reading everyones check ins and love titting them!

And I got a peak on my OPK so that makes me even more mad.

@pebbledam I'm sorry you're dealing with that. I've never heard of DIY IVI, but I think as long as you're willing to explain your reasoning once in awhile when someone asks, I don't see at all why that would mean you don't belong here. Don't leave us!
@LadyMillil GL with the CD3 screening! I'm sure they're used to it--lots of people still have heavy flow on CD 3. @JJMNO1616 GL over there in TWW! @BusinessWife FX for the job and coverage! @Augusta108 Sorry for your O confusion. @futuremrsbrian FX you didn't miss your window! I'd def keep trying if it was me. I don't think you actually O until 12-36 hrs after your first positive OPK like pebbledam said. @AliW220 "just wine". Well, you just gave me a world of excuses.... @kbamomma33 So exciting about your dad! Sorry for AF @lund. I'm sorry YH is being annoying about this--I can't imagine how frustrating that is right now. @sunniegrly I hope your hand gets better soon! @mschanandlerbong1214 Ugh that sucks, I'm sorry to see you back here so soon.

@Mythril I hope you guys feel better soon! Another reason why I must have at least two bathrooms in my house. @BusinessWife I hope you hear back from your job interview soon!! @futuremrsbrian you get a positive opk before you O. CS/Q: I'm pretty good here.
GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick? I've been listening to a lot of Ed Sheeran lately so I suppose one of his songs. I'm not really picky.
@Pebbledam I think you’re pretty awesome and
would be sad to see you go, unless it’s because you’re
KU of course.
@Mythril I’m sorry y’all
got sick last night. Ugh. That’s the worst. I once ate
candy from a girl at works candy station and got super sick that night. I’m
sure it wasn’t from the candy but I can’t
risk it now. Hopefully that crumminess doesn’t turn you off from popcorn
or Japanese steakhouses forever.
@50Wife Meetings all day. Woof. That sounds like a long way

@Augusta108 the wait and see situations are the worst.
@Dilynne sorry about the no sex. Hope you just get back to
it sooner than later.
@futuremrsbrian Glad to hear you guys are on the mend, I’m
still new to the OPK world so I don’t have any helpful info
but I know everyone else will chime in.
A little bit late to the game this morning... lots to catch up on!
@pebbledam Sorry you're still having trouble with that. I personally still think you belong here - just because it's not medical and scientific, you still understand the basic biological principles of conception, which I think is the science we go on. I mean - essential oils aren't scientific, the fertility elephant isn't scientific, things like pom juice, green tea, pineapple - which help but maybe aren't scientific ways to get KU... all the little things like that, which many of us do, doesn't change the fact that any of us belong. Now, if you were only doing the IVI at certain phases of the moon, with your head in a particular direction - maybe then you'd be a bit out of place! (Long story short - we'd miss you if you left!)
@BusinessWife FX for you!! Don't second guess yourself - if I learned anything last year, everyone is slower to respond than they think
@Dilynne Sorry that your H isn't on board these days; hopefully you get some decent timing in, even if you aren't really tracking.
@futuremrsbrian Make sure you keep doing OPKs in case you have a longer surge; some women get a couple days of positive. Plus, keep HIO!
@AliW220 Ugh, forgetting is the worst. I was super stressed when the first morning we were away when I forgot my thermometer
@kbamomma33 Try not to get too discouraged - it takes a while for it to become a habit to temp as soon as you wake up. Plus, you have to remember that it's not about the individual temperatures, but the trends that you will start to see
@lund So sorry for CD1, and that your H is being so uncooperative. Hopefully you guys can find some time when you are less emotional and he is more receptive to talk and plan next steps.
@sunniegrly GL at your appointment - let us know how it goes
@mschanandlerbong1214 Sorry for CD1 - it's never easy dealing with the chaos that is coming off BC

WAYDTGKU: PNV, BBT, CM, CP, OPKs, Conceive Plus Lube, HIO, hopefully starting yoga soon!
R/R: Joining the "trouble temping" party today with frustration that I either 1) stress so much about temping that I end up waking up at 4am and temping then immediately going to pee because I always have to upon first waking up then realizing it's way too early but also too late for my 5:30/6 actual temp time, OR 2) try to be super chill and do my usual half-awake-half-asleep thing where I toss and turn for the last 30 min before alarm and end up with a ridiculously high temp. If I weren't so cheap I'd totally by a wearable.

GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick?
Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley (just saw another Hallelujah option from @dilynn too!)
@pebbledam - It sounds like you guys have some good communication going and I think we can all agree here that there is no one right way to go about TTC and your journey is totally valid.
@Mythril - oh no! I hope you don't have any lingering ill feelings today!
@businesswife - good luck, I hope you get good news on the job soon!
@Augusta108 - hope you get some clarity soon with temps and opks. so much wait and see in all this!
@Dilynne - is it weird to say GL with the HIO attempts? I hope today things fall into place for both of you to feel up to it.
@futuremrsbrian - do you have a link to your chart? keep HIO until you know for sure you O'd
@kbamomma33 - temping is so hard, I hope you can give yourself a break and not feel too stressed by it.
@doxiemoxie212 - hope the appointment goes well tomorrow!

@mschanandlerbong1214 - ugh sorry your body is not making sense for you. I hope you have some time to take care of yourself today
@Pinky917 - love that song! Although I was firmly on the Brand New side of that whole feud, I know all the words to Cute without the E. My problem is I cannot listen to it without scream/singing all of one party (exbf from hs always sang the other side) so it would be terrible for me all day long!

Thanks so much to everyone for the encouragement/ advice about temping.
@BusinessWife Thanks for the suggestion about setting an alarm. I'm just going to do that so I know I'm getting it at the same time every day. Even if I do happen to get 30 mins less of sleep, I think it will be worth it and help me stress less.
@mschanandlerbong1214 I'm so sorry about CD1 and also that you are having such a rough day. Hugs.
@Pinky917 Shut right up Cute Without the e (Cut From the Team) was MY JAM in high school! Great song. I love TBS and actually have that specific record on vinyl because it's one of my favorites.
@elisek I'm laughing about you singing the scream part of that song. Also, *googles wearable bbt*

@kbamomma33 - Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I usually take a break from temping until about CD8 or 9. Don't get discouraged! I work nights and have all the open circles, but I still see a temp shift after O! @doxiemoxie212 - I feel you on the allergies. I've cut back on my antihistamines because I was making zero CM, but now I'm also making lots of nasal mucas. Ugh! @lund - Men seriously don't get it sometimes. *hugs for CD1* @sunniegrly - I'm glad nothing is broken in your hand, but I must say your autocorrect does a pretty damn good job. I'm always arguing with mine. GL with your doctor's appointment! And thank you for the encouragement about our planned IVI. @pebbledam You gotta do what you gotta do. I wouldn't feel like you shouldn't be here. I do think that you may be able to visit other sites where you would find people with more experience with it but this is home.
@LadyMillil I've started keeping a puppy piddle pad tally.
@futuremrsbrian The norm around here is to stay in WTO until FF gives you CH (aka an O date). Unless you trigger. Then you move over when you want.
@Lund The only thing I have for you is to quit hiding how much the month after month is hurting you. It just takes them longer to get around to where we are. If you can set someone else up to be the nag, that is key. So if the RE can or I talked H into doing acupuncture and she did part of the nagging, too. He listens/minds it better and I'm not the b!¥€#.

Update: Just got home from my appointment with the PA to a RE. It went great! I LOVED her. She said I wasn't silly at all to be coming to her after so short a time given my weird last cycle because if something is wrong it's better to know sooner than later. She looked at my OPKs and says she thinks I probably ovulated yesterday (omg!! Hooray!! And that was without seeing my temp spike - just the OPKs). She thinks I probably just had a wacky last cycle after the BCP but there's still a possibility of some kind of ovulation disorder. I'm going back on the 18th for an ultrasound and blood work. She doesn't really think it's PCOS given my history but I still testing for it because I have a few stray dark chin hairs that bothered me enough to mention. So I'm feeling more confident that there might be nothing wrong with me, and if there is something wrong I feel like I'm at the right place. Bonus: my insurance doesn't have infertility coverage, but she isn't coding anything as infertility yet so these tests will be covered. So I guess I'm going to switch my OPK results in FF. I'm going to stay here until I get my CH though.

WAYDTGKU: PNV BBT CM OPK HIO IVI?
CS/Q: nope

We managed to HIO last night, and will again tonight, but I'm not sure if we've already missed our shot? The nuances of timing/testing still escape me when it comes to O-ing, so any advice here is appreciated.

HIO!

Plus, I forgot to temp this morning right when I woke up so I didn't do it. I'm going to keep going with it but I've still got this feeling that I'm doing something wrong and messing it up somehow.

GTKY: If you had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours starting NOW, what song would you pick?
Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I never get tired of that song, no matter how many times I hear it.
Can you set an early temping alarm so get remember to take it at the same time every day? You can always sleep in later on the days you don't actually have to get up at that time. Or use a fitbit vibrating alarm if that's better?
@LadyMillil GL at the US today, what a bummer it's during AF
@Mythril food poisoning is the WORST, hope you're feeling better today. Funny you mention two bathrooms... when we were apartment and house hunting, DH was like "we MUST have two toilets. I don't care where or how, but there has to be two"... for that exact reason LOL

But,

@50Wife Hope your busy day goes smoothly!
