@RainyDays86 so glad to hear about your good news. Also what a great oncologist you have that will give you an appointment just for calling in to ask questions. I love to hear about doctors with that kind of bedside manner!
@RainyDays86 I'm glad you were able to meet with the oncologist and have things explained more clearly and with good news overall!
I had my last NST today and baby was bouncing around and doing good! When they checked the fluid levels the nurse noticed that my placenta was already starting to deteriorate at 38wks. Doctor said it just confirms that tomorrow's induction is best and safest for baby. Now I have to figure out how to actually get some sleep tonight with all this adrenaline from thinking about having a baby tomorrow!

@RainyDays86 I'm glad that you were able to meet with the oncologist and get some peace of mind.
I had my 38 week appointment today (technically 37+6) with the GBS test. I asked my doctor that since he was down there could he check for progress, but he said since I wasn't having any contractions that he wouldn't unless I really wanted him to. Since he said it wouldn't get things going I declined. For weeks he has been saying that baby would be most likely be early, and then today he tells me that it will probably be closer to my EDD (5/24) or later. That definitely put me on edge for the rest of the day.
@hp_momma yay for induction tomorrow and glad it worked out that it's the right timing! Thinking of you and hope you're getting some sleep!!
@achays11 what a change in mindset! Ugh. I talked my doc into doing a check yesterday because of GBS and being pants off already but of course I'm closed although 50% effaced... so I guess that's something? Hopefully things get rolling for you!
I have my 37 week appt tomorrow, but I'm trying to switch it to today because DS1 has a fever and DH had to take the day out (versus having him leave early tomorrow to pick them up from school).
last week I was soft, but completely closed. I've been out of breath, had high blood pressure and contractions all night. Hoping for some progress today! Last day of work is Friday and I can't wait
I meant to mention this yesterday but during my 38w yesterday we talked about birth control options. Husband and I had been going back and forth about doing a tubal ligation if I end up with another cesarean and bringing the doc in on the conversation made it so much more productive. He figured since I would already be in the OR it made more sense and I was hesitant but he kept thinking it was just me trying to push it onto him. Talks were not going well at home.
The OB guided us through different considerations and scenarios without things becoming a "you vs. me" kind of thing. It really helped us both I think clarify what exactly our reasons were and find a plan that worked for both of us. For example we both agreed we don't want 3 but I couldn't really explain why I felt that now wasn't the right time just in case. He took that to mean I wanted backup plans if we ever split up but the OB hit it on the head. I am worried that something could go wrong in the first year (crazy, I know) and I would prefer to wait a bit to make sure our family of four stays that way and we don't suddenly just have 1 kid again.
If you aren't 110% on your plans yet I strongly recommend bringing it up at one of your last appointments.
Good luck today @hp_momma! @WombThereItIs I'm glad you had a productive conversation. Talking about permanent birth control is hard! DH and I had a similar conversation about him getting snipped (in a few years, once we are sure we're done) and he was really hesitant to agree or even talk about it. At first I thought he just didn't want to deal with the pain and discomfort and I was gonna be like "oh hell no you don't get to complain about that" but the more we talked about it the more I realized he's nervous about something happening to one of our kiddos and not being able to have more. Which is paranoid but I think a decent consideration. Anyway, glad you had a good conversation and have some understanding now!
@WombThereItIs@RainyDays86 That's such a tough conversation. We're having similar talks in our household. So tough. All the feelings. Especially about worrying about the current kiddos' health & safety.
My weekly appointment got moved to today because of high BP at home. It was decent at the clinic. I just had an NST (reactive) and am waiting on a BPP. Cervix is still at 1.5cm. I forgot to ask about effacement and station. He said he'd do a membrane sweep at my 40 week appointment next week if still no labor.

Ditto @WombThereItIs, major cervix envy. @Yiggle09 and @pshaortao Sounds like the real deal could be right around the corner! Fingers and toes crossed for both of you!
@rosemarylaff I think just that she could feel the sac poking through my cervix area. I dont know if thats common or whayever. My water had broken spontaneously with DD but I never did a check my first pregnancy
Just had my first appointment in 2 weeks, got to see him so that was fun! He was all snuggled up and sucking his little lips. Decided to do a cervical check just for "fun" and I'm 1.5-2cm with some softening going on. I'll take it!
Had a routine 39 week appointment this morning but ended up being sent to L&D because my BP was high. I was in L&D for about about 3 hours and my BP was fine and my labs all came back good. Baby was on a monitor the whole time and was doing great too. They sent me home but scheduled an induction for Wednesday morning at 7am, unless he decides to come on his own before then.
So for those of you that had membrane sweeps either this time around or in a previous pregnancy, what was the outcome?
I was really crampy all night (got it at around 4 yesterday) and had a lot of lower back pain... Both of these symptoms are new for me. I've also had some spotting although it seems a bit more than spotting but not enough to be compared to a period. Now, the cramping has mostly subsided and the back pain is way less. I was really hoping it would turn into something more even though I was trying not to get my hopes up.
@chocolatelemons I googled it and only has a 22 percent inducing labor success rate. Yesterday after my exam I felt so crampy had contractions achy lower back but those symptoms were gone by the night
@Yiggle09 I started doing some googling too and saw that statistic. Ugh. Not that I thought it would definitely cause labor but I was hoping I'd defeat the odds. And those pains were pretty convincing!
@chocolatelemons I had a mix of regular and bh contractions all day yesterday until I went to bed. And I also started to lose pieces of my mucus plug. Needless to say, I woke up bummed too lol
Just had my 38 week appt, scheduled regular appt for next week and a NST for the day before my due date crazy this is all coming to an end! Both the doctor and the nurse told me I'd know for sure what real contractions feel like, and that they're more painful than I'd expect. So here's hoping for that lol
@Jens_Hoes I would definitely agree with your doctor and nurse. I was worried about recognizing the real thing but it was quite clear (and quite painful).
@Jens_Hoes uhm yes, real contractions SUUUUUUCK - this time around I will be just repeating "epidural" as I am brought in to L&D -
I'm not even kidding, one of the first things I told the nurse in L&D was that I wanted an epidural the moment I had progressed enough to have it. Contractions suck
ETA: obviously they don't suck completely since it means your body is doing something, but the pain sucks!
39 week appt today and my cervix is clamped shut with no imminent labor in sight...also baby measured much larger today at regular OB than our Hi-Risk OB told us he was guessing. Maybe I've been treating myself too much?!
Side note thank you all for talking about TDap vaccinations recently, I asked doc about it and they had written to do it on my chart forever ago but "forgot"! So I got that today!

Just remember that those growth scans have a margin of error of up to 16oz!

Had 38 week appointment yesterday. Still 3cm, 80%, -2. They agreed to sweep my membranes at 39 weeks if I want. Looks like there's no end in sight for the uterine irritability. On a TMI level, DH and I tried to DTD three times in the last 2 days without success because it hurt me too much, thanks to my quivering uterus. I'm losing steam.
