How big is baby? "About 6 lbs" according to the midwife feeling around. I'd like baby to be over 7lbs at birth if possible, or whatever it takes for the baby to nurse well and be healthy.
Any appointments this week? I had one two days ago. Nothing major to report other than maybe the baby is facing upwards (head down but facing out my front instead of my back) and I might try to do some things to change that if possible.
Symptoms? Mostly just the general giant-at-the-end stuff, like rib jabbing in spite of baby having dropped and constantly pressing on my pelvis. Also heartburn is back.
Cravings? So...my son had this GI bug and the doctor recommended he have water ice (that's what they call italian ice here) as it is caloric, somewhat mild, and quite hydrating. Ever since then I have been having it as much as possible, mostly without him (also he's 100% now and can eat whatever). I JUST came back from getting some. Also great on the hot days; we've been getting a few of those recently, but mostly true "spring" days like today, in the 60s.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I just need to stay pregnant one more week to finish out the semester and grading. I have three sections of a class; one had their final yesterday, and two more will take the test Monday. I tried to encourage everyone to switch to the earlier time ("you'll get your grade faster," "I'm more likely to be there to answer questions," etc) but also allowed switches to happen in the other direction. A bunch of people were going to switch to yesterday but then backed out. I ended up with just as many switches in as out, so I still have 2/3 of my students taking the test Monday, which means a ton of grading to do at that time. I'm an idiot who did a mostly essay exam, though to be fair I felt I REALLY needed to for pedagogical reasons.
In better news, we FINALLY got baby stuff down from the attic and laundered the baby clothes. Today I am going to finish packing the hospital bag(s). We might just get mostly ready in time (other than the bigger projects we had wanted to accomplish.)
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green and I still don't have a guess.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? The baby is the obvious change, though s/he's not here yet so in that sense it's still not a change. Ask me next year! haha I was going to say DS has been a big change because last winter (2015-2016) he was in a very bad place and now he's doing a lot better, but by May of last year things were already looking much better. Moreover, I feel like with him we traded some challenges for others, so I'm not sure how much has truly "changed." Sometimes I think not enough has changed -- I feel both of my kids but especially DS are "behind" in terms of developing certain skills like fending for themselves at home, chores, learning to ride a bike, picking up a hobby/skill, etc. Maybe the third kid will jump start their abilities to do chores and fend for themselves at home. Of course I could see it meaning rather than DS getting himself dressed, he'll just walk out the house naked. (In all fairness, he can and does get himself dressed but still needs you to pick out the clothes and tell him to do it....)
Any appointments this week? I have one tomorrow. After the scare at my appointment last week I have been feeling nervous every day about my baby's movements. Thankfully, baby has been moving around great and I've only felt a few contractions this week. I've also been taking my hospital bag with me every time I leave my house since the hospital I'm delivering at is quite a drive from my house. My GBS test from last week came back negative so that's good.
Symptoms? A lot of little toes jabbing into my ribs, which makes sitting and eating sitting down tricky. I've also developed siatic pain in the back of my legs.
Cravings? Not really, just chocolate and wanting time to go by a little quicker so I can meet this baby!
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm going to get the supplies to make padsicles tomorrow! Most of the recipes I've found say to add "a generous amount" of aloe and a teaspoon of witch hazel. I was considering mixing the aloe and witch hazel together in a bowl (for each pad, not all the aloe and witch hazel together at once) before applying it to each pad so the witch hazel is evenly spread out. That might be a lot of work though.

GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? One year ago H and I were preparing for starting to TTC. We were also still living in an apartment and were working with the bank to get a loan to buy a house. I'm so glad we were able to move into our house when we did!
Any appointments this week? Had one today. The doctor said I'm still measuring well (maybe 1 cm behind) and the baby is in a good, head-down position. He was the first doctor to give me a weight estimate. He said he thinks she'll be 7.5 lbs if I'm close to my due date. I'm obviously taking that with a grain of salt, because they can't really tell that accurately. But, around that weight is what I'm hoping for.
Symptoms? Pain basically. Really sore hips and pelvis (making sleeping even harder), back, etc. Still have that nerve/muscle thing happening that makes my legs give out. I'm honestly ready for baby anytime.
Cravings? Meat and chocolate this week.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I mentioned this elsewhere, but I'll say it again. I'm sooo glad my parents were here the past two days to help me clean the house. We got so much done. It wasn't anything that had to get done before the baby, but I haven't done a good cleaning in a while and it was much needed. So, it feels like one more thing that's prepared ahead of time.

GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Actually pretty similar. Obviously I wasn't pregnant then, but we were TTC. Everything else was very similar, except that I just stopped working, so that's different now.
How far along are you? 37 weeks (my last time doing the ticker change at work!) How big is baby? Romaine lettuce
Any appointments this week? I had an appt with my midwife, baby is in a good position.
Symptoms? The sore joints continue, and it's quite painful when I wake up in the morning. I feel about a hundred years old. Hip pain has returned as well, despite it going away a few months ago with the mattress topper.
Cravings? Greek food, my absolute favorite.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Today is my last day of work! I am looking forward to not getting up really early and to not have to deal with anything other than what is related to me. I work with elementary-aged kids and I'm hoping I make it out of here without getting sick!

GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? We were getting excited for our trip to Europe - we went to Italy, France and Switzerland. It was so much fun, and our first time traveling together without the purpose of seeing family. So many special memories.
Any appointments this week? I have one tomorrow. Update from last Friday's appt - they did a growth u/s and estimated him at 7-7.5 lbs now so they are thinking by 40 weeks he would be in the 8.5-9 lbs range. The plan is to do an internal tomorrow to see if I'm dilating at all and possibly discuss a 39 week induction because of his size. I'm not overly concerned about his size and I'm hoping to talk them out of an induction unless it becomes truly necessary.
Symptoms? Overall just feeling really big and getting a bit uncomfortable especially in the evenings and at night. Also my feet are really swollen and I refuse to wear anything but flip flops, even in the office.
Cravings? Still loving cucumbers dipped in ranch
Rants/Raves/Questions? I mentioned in this weeks randoms thread but I'll repeat here. Last weekend we had a big snow storm and my shower got canceled. They don't want to reschedule until after he's born and make it a baby meet and greet instead now. Also DH got called out to plow the storm so another weekend went by without us getting any work done on the nursery. And the cherry on top, DS and I both have a cold. Blah.

GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Last year my only concern and priority was DS birthday party and I was stressing out of every detail. This year we are getting ready for this 4th birthday but I've scaled back a lot but I think it's still going to be really fun. Last year we were also making a ton of plans for weekend trips to the lake and this year we'll be sticking a lot closer to home.
Any appointments this week? Had one this morning. Bacteria in urine for the 2nd time but because they just tested for uti 2 weeks ago and I have no other symptoms, she didn't seem concerned. She said it may just have been just a bad sample.
Symptoms? Everything ha. Worst is probably pressure in the pelvis. And when I need to pee and have to stand from sitting, I have an awful pinching pain until I go.
Cravings? None really
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm getting pretty anxious! I had DD at 38+6 so I was all like maybe I'll see you at my next appt, maybe I won't at the practice. My mom just flew in yesterday so we have a few days at least and she will take care of DD whenever its go time. Its so nice having company at the end.

GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Soooooo different! I had just found out or was about to find out I was pregnant. Unfortunately that one didn't stick, obviously, or I wouldn't be here. And we were living in a little 2bdrm apartment in norcal and had started to seriously consider the idea of moving to NC. We wanted to go somewhere more affordable and settle down. Dh had started job hunting and I was still working in HR on Sundays at Target.
@kat81 when I was hospitalized almost all of March, I ordered an Italian Ice with almost every meal.
How many weeks old is baby? 9 weeks tomorrow
Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? DD has her 2 month well appointment in 2 weeks.
Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? I broke down and bought a baby scale. I didn't want any surprises when she goes back for her preemie care appointment. I'm happy to report she is up to 6lbs 5 oz. She was discharged weighing 5lbs 1oz, so she has averaged a 1 oz gain per day.
Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? No concerns because I know it's normal, but I can't wait until she starts STTN.
Rants/raves/questions?
GTYK: How different was your life one year ago? Very different. I lost a baby that was due May 2016. After that I wasn't ready to try again and DH was ready for a vasectomy. I was finally accepting that our family was complete with just 2 boys. I was sad, but ok with it. Then life happened and now our family is complete. The other big change is DS1 started preschool. His "graduation" program is in 2 weeks and then he'll be ready for kindergarten.
Any appointments this week? Had one yesterday, all looks good, baby has dropped but I'm still 1-2 cm dilated and 60% effaced.
Symptoms? LOTS of swelling, sudden pain in groin that makes me fall over, that's fun.
Cravings? Mexican food (but let's be real, this is an everyday normal craving too...)
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm so excited/nervous/relieved that tomorrow is my last day at work. Doctor is pulling me due to swelling- things still look ok but there was such a big difference when I stayed home for a bit last week that she thinks it will be healthier and I'm not going to argue! Work has been getting harder and harder since it's very physically demanding. Even though I will miss my kiddos I can't wait to be at home and have time to get everything ready, and finally be out of pain at work.

Symptoms? Is "really f*cking over it" a symptom? Just generally in pain and uncomfortable.

I was concerned because she currently has not pooped in over 48 hours, but nothing else is wrong, but I called my dr's office & was told that can be normal. She is in a growth spurt right now I think because she wants to eat either constantly or for over an hour at a time!
I definitely did not mean to disappear from the board the way I have.
