    Why are you high-risk? HBP

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? None. Still just tracking my blood pressure every day. Hoping it holds for awhile.

    Any concerns/news currently?
I went to the ER on Saturday evening b/c I fell in the parking garage at Target. Someone had spilled milk on the ground and I did not see it. I fell on my knee mostly and not directly on my stomach or anything, but was so worried. My knee swelled up pretty bad right away. In the ER I got an ultrasound and an x-ray on my knee and all looked ok. I was so relieved!

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
That my blood pressure continues to be stable.

GTKY: What is one thing that you are proud of yourself for doing this week? Give yourself props!
Per my counselor's suggestion, I have been meditating a lot along with other self help tools to help with my anxiety. I was a mess last pregnancy and seeking help early and getting ways to cope early on has really helped.
  • @JustBored10 I hope you guys have a great trip to Orlando and your son stays healthy to enjoy it! Are you going to any of the theme parks there?
@Rhubarb7216 FX the spotting was nothing and your cervix continues to cooperate! I can't imagine dealing with that and having my job.. I'm glad you're able to make everything work!
@baileylove22 Falls are so scary! I was sitting on the floor and tried to stand up but didn't get all the way up before I lost balance and crashed back down on my butt with a lot of force. It knocked the air from me and scared me so much! I hope your knee feels better soon. That would not be a fun joint to continue have hurt through the rest of pregnancy.

    How far along are you?
    22 weeks

Why are you high-risk? Type 1 DM, MTHFR

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I have my Fetal Echo TOMORROW! Hoping everything is good and excited that I get to see little girl again.

    Any concerns/news currently?
I'm concerned about my weight gain.. blood sugars.. haha.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
That baby's heart has developed perfectly

GTKY: What is one thing that you are proud of yourself for doing this week? Give yourself props!
I was out of the house every day on my days off. It wore me out, but I felt happy to not be laying around all day. Makes me feel a bit more like a human!

  • @Sugargirl1019 We will be doing a trip to the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday as long as the weather looks good.  We stayed on the Disney property last June but this year we are staying at my sister in laws time share right outside of Disney.  Which is OK with me because all DS really wanted to do was be at the pool anyways and I get to just relax!
  • @Sugargirl1019 thanks for your kind words! Yes, I am lucky that I have a job that can be done from home. Although my office normally doesn't allow working from home (I work for a state agency), I have a very understanding boss who is letting me work from home the few days this week so I don't have to use my limited sick time.

Best wishes for your fetal echo tomorrow!

  • How far along are you?

    22 weeks

    Why are you high-risk?
Back on bed rest for placenta tear

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
    No not this week

    Any concerns/news currently?
Things are looking up, the blood is getting older and less frequent so I think the active bleeding is over.
My dog jumped on me today though and it didn't cause any bleeding or cramping but it still has me a little nervous.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
Just that I keep healing and my little boy stays in there and keeps growing!

GTKY: What is one thing that you are proud of yourself for doing this week? Give yourself props!

  • Hello, everyone! I think I go here now.

    How far along are you?
    21+3

Why are you high-risk? Shortened cervix and marginal cord placement

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Had a drs appointment yesterday to check my cervix, and the blood flow to my umbilical cord. Everything looked good- meaning the same as it did last week, so I go back in two weeks for another ultrasound of my cervix, and in a month for a level 2 ultrasound of my cord with the perinatologist.

    Any concerns/news currently?
Adjusting to the progesterone suppositories they have me on has been a little rougher than I thought it would be. I'm a little more hormonal now, the discharge they cause is unreal, and I've been warned that they could cause spotting. But I've also been told to go to the hospital asap if I have any spotting, and I'd really like to avoid unnecessary hospital visits if possible. I've also been told to drink at least 100 oz of water a day, but to never let my bladder get full. Thankfully there's been no hint on spotting yet, but I feel like all I do is drink and pee.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
Just peace going forward, and that my cervix and cord would both remain stable so that I can avoid surgery, or preterm labor.

GTKY: What is one thing that you are proud of yourself for doing this week? Give yourself props!
I think DH and I have handled a really emotional week really well. We've had to pivot some life plans, but we're working together as a team really well, and that feels good.

  • @mrs_tacos I'm so sorry you've been diagnosed with this!! Is a marginal cord where it is on the outer edge of the placenta?

  • @Sugargirl1019 Thank you! And, yes, marginal cord placement just means it grows out of anywhere other than the middle of the placenta. Mine isn't extreme, and is still completely attached to my placenta, but I have an anterior placenta, which apparently makes my cord more likely to be moved or detach than if I had a fundal or posterior placenta. (Also, how many times can I say placenta in one post?)

  • @Sugargirl1019 Thank you! :) It is feeling a little better. The swelling had gone down and it just looks ugly now. I am hoping you have a perfect fetal echo tomorrow!

@JustBored10 Have a great trip! We are looking forward to going to Disney when we move back to the mainland next year.

@Breath_Easy92 Congrats on graduating! That's awesome!

@mrs_tacos I did the progesterone suppositories with my last pregnancy. My cervix measured really short (I think it was around 1.2 cm or something). I never had any spotting with the suppositories and they do not do cerclages with twins for some reason. My cervix held out til the end at 36w4d.

@Rhubarb7216 I am glad they are monitoring you so closely. It's great that there has been no change with your cervix for 3 weeks. I will be hoping you have a great follow up appt on Thursday.
  • @baileylove22 That's good to hear! I was 4 cm at my NT scan at 13 weeks, and am sitting at 2.7 now, but I seem to be firmly shut, so lets hope it stays that way. My doctor says 36 is the magic number- if I can make it to 36 weeks, he'll be happy.

  • @mrs_tacos, I'm with you on the short cervix! Mine was 2.9 at my A/S (I had my A/S on the early side just before 18 weeks  - I'm 22w5d now) and then 2.0 a week later. I've been on progesterone suppositories since. A week later it was still 2.0 and then two weeks later it was actually measuring 2.6. The suppositories certainly do cause a disgusting amount of discharge! Unfortunately I did have spotting this week, but so far everything looks like it's still ok. I had another ultrasound on Monday and it's still measuring 2.6.
  • @Rhubarb7216 It's a sucky club to be in, but I'm glad we can at least been in it together! And it's so encouraging that your cervix lengthened again! Such a good sign. I'm glad the spotting hasn't been too much of a worry. In addition to the possibility of the progesterone causing spotting, I also have a small polyp on my cervix that can cause spotting. The polyp itself isn't really an issue, and the expect it to clear up on it's own once I give birth, but the last thing I need is something else that could cause spotting and unneeded worry!

  • @mrs_tacos, yes definitely don't need extra things to worry about! Pregnancy itself causes enough worry even when there aren't complications! Hope all continues to go well for you.
  • @Sugargirl1019 thank you! My dog is like 16 lbs, he's not big and he got the side of my belly rather straight on so that's good. Normally he's pretty gental he just got super worked up because he heard my dad's  car and he doesn't usually come over.

    @baileylove22 thank you :)
  • @Sugargirl1019 please keep us updated regarding your Echo cardiogram.  We will need to have one in the third trimester if it shows that baby's hole has not closed.
  • Great news @Sugargirl1019! :) I have some of those alien pics too. Yikes!
  • @Sugargirl1019 yayyy that's great news!
