My hospital actually has really good food, I'll likely eat at the hospital most of the time, but I know when my best friend comes to visit she'll bring me dessert from Cheesecake Factory and grab Mexican food.
My hospital has great food (plus all food/drink is covered under my insurance) so I'll probably have a personal pizza brought up as soon as I get to mother-baby. Yum! My best friend will probably bring champagne or wine to have in the hospital, and DH will buy a 6-pack of something yummy to have at home.
I need to look into this because I have to be really careful not to have any gluten. I know I've never gotten sick from in-n-out and they have one right next to our hospital so that's on the list for sure. But I actually need to make a plan for this or I'll be having neopolitan shakes the whole hospital stay! Lol
Turkey sub with lettuce, cheese, and honey mustard was what I had after DD was born, and is likely what I'll have this time if it's not mid-morning (I'm avoiding deli meats while pregnant, so definitely craving it now!). Funny story: We sent my parents to get it last time, and my mom just told me this weekend that my dad debated 6 vs. 12 inches when they were on the way there. Thankfully she reminded him that it had been more than 24 hours since I'd eaten anything solid, so he was amenable to the bigger one. Silly dad....
I don't normally really like deli meat, but I don't eat it when I am pregnant because I am paranoid about Listeria and it makes me feel better (i also don't eat prepackaged hummus, bagged lettuce, and some other random things) and I really want a turkey sub. Last time I ate one during labor because I figured... listeria takes a while to show up and the baby would be out by then! I also really want this one specific (really inauthentic) sushi roll from Wegmans, which is actually cooked and I could definitely have it now, but for some reason I am really looking forward to eating it in the hospital so I think I'll hold out.
I usually just stick with hospital food. With my DS we got Starbucks on the way home from the hospital and jimmy johns for lunch. I don't really have any specific cravings this time so far. We will see!
Turkey sandwich for SURE. I can't wait. Also, a Diet Coke, but if I end up with a rcs, that will have to wait a week or two.
I'm pretty sure I had a diet coke in the hospital at my first meal post c section (the nurses served me it) They just said I'm not allowed to drink out of a straw for a couple weeks.
I really want cheesecake and a mimosa. I would have spicy Thai pizza from a local pizzeria but I remember with DD the spicyness (sp?) changed the taste of my breast milk for her and gave her terrible gas, so while I'm establishing breastfeeding I don't really want to eat foods that'll give a newborn bad gas- they're already gassy to begin with!
I usually have breakfast and lunch hospital food, and then DH brings me a delicious take out dinner. I really just want a giant slice of cookie dough cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.
I'm going to stick with The First 40 Days meals and theory. Warming and nourishing!
My brother in laws mother makes this delicious tradition Sudanese oat porridge/tea, so she is making me that. My sister will make me a nourishing bone broth soup and a special herbal tea for immediately after birth.

The hospital has great food. I am looking forward to the steak sandwich at lunch, crabcakes for dinner, their twice-baked potatoes, and apple crumb pie. When I get home, looking forward to a martini and rumchata float. Maybe a cold beer
In the hospital I'm sending DH to Charlie's to get me bacon cheese fries with a Philly sub. Then at home I want a nice light white wine. I might actually go shopping for a couple bottles here soon so there are here when I get home.
Mom to Madison- 5 and Lillian 2....and now surprise baby #3!
I have requested a turkey sub, with tomato, onions, provolone, and o &v (on the side), from Jersey Mike's in NJ. Since I live in Mass, my dad is in charge of bringing it up with him. There is a Jersey Mike's up here, but I know in my heart it won't be the same.
After my section I had zero appetite. I didn't eat for over 12 hours afterward and even then I just had a few bites of cream of wheat. My hospital has a great menu though and patients eat free so I'm hoping that no matter the delivery method I feel like eating something. I know you can order breakfast there all day long so I'm thinking: pancakes, bacon, hash browns, and a fruit salad.
I want a nice cold glass of dessert wine soooo bad! I would seriously trade my DH for a nice bottle of it right now. Definitely making that a priority. That said, I don't restrict myself on food except tuna. Because of that, I'm not having any cravings really. I do want some spicy tuna rolls so maybe after we get home form the hospital I'll send DH out to get some (assuming I haven't traded him first).
I'll probably just eat from the hospital menu. Or make DH get me McDonalds. I will wait until I'm home to consume alcohol - but I am pretty excited about it!
Our hospital has good food so I'll likely stick with that while I'm there (and order the cheesecake like every 3 hrs). I'm also planning on bringing wine or champagne to have in the room as well. I don't really restrict what food I eat so there isn't any particular food that I'm craving.

+1 for a hospital that serves good food. I remember after I had DD I was so hungry and happy with everything I ordered for room service. Doesn't really matter what it is, just get it here and in my belly!

Our hospital is amazing, so I expect their food to be pretty good. I don't know what I'll want right after, but in general I am so excited about eating sushi and runny eggs. Probably not at the same time...
I want a Subway cold cut combo with all the veggies and mayo. I'm not eating deli meat and it's all I can think about. It's weird bc I normally don't want deli sandwiches too often when not pg. Also, I don't normally drink a lot but I want a frozen strawberry margarita ASAP!
@LAMCH1980 I think it was because of causing gas which could be painful after a c section. But honestly I don't remember. It's probably not a big deal. I had a vbac with my second and they never told me the straw thing.
I've been dying for all the seafood. I cannot wait for some clam chowder or lobster roll straight from New England. Also Panera's Green Tea is something I've tried to avoid so I'm looking forward to that.
All of you csection moms make me think the hospital I had DS1 is crap. I had a huge greasy calzone 20 mins after I got out of recovery and I drank the most delish coke ever. No one ever told me to watch what I ate or to be careful!
