Anyone else?? This is a 1st for me. I'm only 18wks, so I wasn't expecting this to happen this soon. I had feet and ankle swelling with my first, but I was a little further along and it was in the middle of summer. This is the 2nd time this week that my legs are swelling. I think its normal? I have my appt on Thurs so I'll def bring it up to the dr. I just want to know I'm not alone on this swollen boat! lol
Re: Leg Swelling!!
June Siggy Challenge: Workout
Edema- the swelling of the legs, ankles, and feet during pregnancy- is pretty normal, and 18 weeks might be a little early, but I don't think it's anything to be too alarmed over. Mention it to your doctor, sure, but I'm willing to bet it's not a big deal. Here's a little more info: https://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-health/swelling-during-pregnancy/
Because you're a doctor and know her medical history??
@CharChar821 if you are that worried I would advise you call your doctors office and ask to speak with a nurse. Swelling is relatively normal in pregnancy, but again ask your doc.
And you'll definitely see a lot of us having similar issues in the symptoms thread and we're all within a couple weeks of each other's due dates so you're definitely not alone. Just because someone on here says that what you're experiencing isn't "normal" doesn't mean that they're correct. If you don't have an upcoming appointment you may just want to give your OB a call and see what they have to say about it.
OP, the reason multiple regular posters said something is that it was agreed upon by the group in the 'Read This First' thread that that was how we wanted things done...we are happy to have you and encourage posting issues/concerns/Bump pictures etc. Ignore the fear mongering people around here and as others said, if you're truly concerned, call your OB.
FWIW, I am a medical professional and what you're describing is a normal pregnancy symptom. Others have stated what to watch out for and as always, trust your gut. No question is a stupid question when it comes to your health and your baby's health.
Not interested in baby center, but thanks for the suggestions! I'll continue here as I have been. Sorry didn't mean to cause upset over the 'usual suspects'... clearly its rattled your cages. Hugs!
If you don't like the formatting or the way the BMB is you don't have to post here. You don't have to throw shade on the majority of the people here. Way back in January the standard was created and now because drivebys are too lazy to just follow suit, you and @justbored10 think the whole board is a mess and ineffective? I'm pretty sure I only participate in check ins that I wish to and having things organized really helps in navigating topics that pertain to me.
If you feel as passionately as it seems you do against the organization and structure here, you are free to go. If as you mentioned you choose to stay here, please follow the organization and structure that has been set.

ETA: The only person that can truly diagnose whether her symptoms are abnormal is her doctor. We don't know anything about her medical history.
I definitely know who labby is.
It is great, however, that the people that have established relationships on this board actually like the way it's run. Sorry you don't like it and have a problem with the atmosphere here. I know you have said that you don't want to leave the bump, but maybe you should just chill with calling out the usual suspects. It is a forum for anyone and everyone, but that doesn't mean we can't have a process to follow and request that newcomers read a few things to see how the board works before diving in. That's the style of other message boards, not the style that we have established over the last 5 months.
Also... how many times are we going to have this same conversation?
