I have had morning sickness the whole time, B6, Unisom and Zofran have all been prescribed, I have also tried a few natural "fixes" that help. Preggie pops work well temporarily as well as smelling Peppermint essential oil! What has worked for you all? I know it's different person to person just wondering what everyone has had experience with!
Gingerale has been my saving grace! I have a stash at work and I take them everwhere. It doesn't completely get rid of it but it definitely helps take the edge off.
I've also hear of the preggie pops you mentioned and was thinking about trying them!
My MS isn't that bad, I'm nauseous about half the week and throw up once or twice a week, but the thing that's helped me most is pure unsweetened cranberry juice mixed with water. Sour candy works well too, I keep that in the car along with ginger candy.
ETA if Preggie Pops help you sour candy might as well.
@christyh0912 the preggie pops have worked really well and are actually pretty tasty, my only complaint is if I keep them in my cheek too long it seems to irritate the skin a little.
Preggie pops and sour candy help in a pinch. But what helps me the most is snacking, pretty much constantly. I get so sick if I haven't eaten anything in a couple hours. A very wise mother once told me to keep a package of peanut butter and crackers next to the bed and first thing in the morning, before you sit up, eat them and have a little water. Wait a few minutes and then get up to start your day. These things have worked wonders for me. Hope this helps!
Mine is finally fading but none of this helped me. I tried everything, and was so sick. Phenergan is what finally made the difference! IMO do what works to survive. If the snackingand natural tips help you, awesome. If you need to bring in the heavy artilery, do that. First trimester is all about surviving especially when you're really really sick!
Unisom, lemonade, jolly ranchers, not allowing my belly to get empty which means eating wayyy more than I'd like to:(
Yep. I eat all day long. Literally all day long. I've started substituting cookies for yogurt and clementines because of it.
I get really angry when I know I have to eat right before bed or in the middle of the night. I know that's silly, but I don't feel like eating at ALL and I'm getting no enjoyment out of it at that time, but if I don't, I can't sleep. I've gained a lot of weight with my pregnancies so my mind always goes down that road, but there's just not that much you can do about it besides making healthy food and exercise choices:/
@MississippiCatfish I understand. It's especially bad when I have to eat but I don't want anything because it all sounds gross. Especially yogurt. I kind of hate yogurt.
Similar to what a lot of the other ladies have shared...crackers seem to help me a lot in the morning. I have noticed fruit helps me a lot too (once I can get myself to eat it). Grapes, clementines, strawberries have been my go to!
I'm on diclectin - so that helps. I water diluted with lemon/lime crystal light in it. I just put a little in and it makes the water sour (lemons would also do it - but this is easy at work). Also anything salty - so soda crackers - and a couple of times salt and vinegar chips. I really just need to stay away from all things sweet.
Anything lemon, but especially lemon in my water!! Also, chewing gum helps me when I am having an "attack". So far, cinnamon gum like Big Red really hits the spot!
I am addicted to bubbly water. It helps me burp more, which reduces my nausea... a lot of it is gas for me. Also, I make sure to eat every four hours at least. I don't do the constant snacking because of my retainer (would be a huge pain), but I have fairly big meals every 4 hours.

Yes, I chew gum when I drive, it really seems to help. I wish I could Chew cinnamon Gum DH has a weird allergy to cinnamon candy and gum so I stay away from it even though I love it.
@captainfoxtrot & @KLink15 - I am addicted to Clear American unsweetened flavored water - gives it that extra umph.....I hated sparkling water before getting pregs and now I have to have it!
Also fruit and carbs have helped. Mostly watermelon, pineapples, strawberries, yum!
I'm having trouble with the taste of regular water which is another reason for the bubbly water (I used to hate it too), but adding some lemon is a great idea!

Nothing cures it. On Diclegis and Zofran to take the edge off.
Time, that is my only personal fix. I felt something resembling human today (12w3d) and am hoping I'm turning the corner! First trimester is the pits!
I double checked with DH and asked how terrible I thought each trimester was with DD, and he said that oh, yes first was the worst. Third had more sleeping issues, but I coped with that better.
Anyone else that is in the throes of horrible 1st tri symptoms, keep hanging in there! I hope you find relief soon!
@captainfoxtrot Around 10 weeks it became difficult for me to even think about drinking plain water and it was especially difficult to consume to amount I really need. I added the lemon and it really was like a magical thing! It does not cure the MS but it helps me get in the water I need and curb the breakthrough MS.
@KLink15 Before I discovered Big Red was really helpful, I was chewing another strong mint flavored gum. Anything with a strong flavor. I am also batteling the fact yhat my BP meds leave a very bad taste in my mouth. I am going to spend a fortune in mints and gums! Lol
For me, I have to snack a ton throughout the day. If I get hungry, I feel so sick and don't feel like eating anything. Last night I had a granola bar around midnight before I went to sleep and I didn't wake up feel as sick as I normally do, and was able to make my morning bagel without gagging at the same tIme. My midwife said TO just eat what My body feels like eating and when I feel better I can eat better. So that's what I've been doing, because usually I only feel like eating one thing, and by dinner time not a lot sounds good so it's better if I've had a snack.
I've had MS since day one and couldn't find anything to stop it, the doc prescribed some meds which help bring it down to just nauseousness but I still felt terrible, I recently found that if I eat a banana first thing in the morning then it works like the meds and if I eat an apple first thing then Im MS free for the whole day! I didn't know that was possible but I tested it to see if it was the apple and not something else, I tried to eat a small bowl of cereal instead and it came right back up fallowed by nausea for a few hours, even a little nausea after I ate the apple but it quickly went away and I was able to eat anything I wanted! The smell of some things still bother me and I'm not risking eat/drinking things I know my tummy doesn't like right now (soon coffee soon...) But Im just happy that know my lil one is getting the nutrition it needs now that food is staying down
It's changed for me over the few weeks. I've had MS since the day before my first positive at 3w. I only throw up 1-2 a week but am nauseous 100% of the time. First it was peanut butter toast that helped, now it's just snacking 24/7. Oatmeal, poptarts, waffles, granola bars, chips/Frito's, tostitos (which I'm eating right now), chocolate, peanut butter (but not by the spoonful anymore - that makes me sick), Twizzlers, sour candy, peppermints...literally anything I can get my hands on that I can stomach.
