Heart shaped uterus

Hi everyone! I'm on pregnancy number 3 and just wondering if anyone here has a heart shaped uterus and wants to share their stories? I found out about my heart shaped uterus during my first pregnancy and she developed on the left horn and I delivered her full term. My second developed on my right and I delivered her at 26 weeks. Just wondering if anyone out there has experience similar to mine. Hoping for healthy babies to you all!!

Re: Heart shaped uterus

  • No heart shaped uterus, but mine is higher up in my body than most women. This question might be better asked in the questions and concerns thread, you might get more answers there.

  • I only just had my bicornuate (heart shaped) uterus diagnosed officially yesterday. This is my fourth pregnancy, and hopefully second child. So far the baby is developing in the left side but I ovulated on the right. So I'm hoping that is has a good latch (or what ever the proper term is). My daughter (3 yo) was also on the left side and I carried her to full term but did have a c-section because she was breach.

  • There are varying degrees of our condition so I hope my story didn't scare you! That's a good sign that your baby has made its home in the same spot. My specialist told me during my first pregnancy that there's an 80% chance all future pregnancies will occur on the same side as the first pregnancy. I guess I'm the lucky 20% that tried the other side :).. I've also heard breech babies are super common with this shape of uterus. I delivered both of mine vaginally... I just don't follow the norm I suppose. Thanks for sharing your story, it give me hope!! Best of luck to you and your family!
