Shrinking Follicles?

Hi, I'm a bit confused.... I went in for day 3 blood work and u/s on 3/18 and showed a 7.98 follicle on the right and a 5.51 mm follicle on the left. I was then put on Desogen to be put in a "holding pattern" until I received my meds. I went in this morning for Day 3 blood work and u/s but the follicles measured smaller, 6.05mm on the right and 5.25 & 4.90 mm on the left. Is it normal for them to shrink when placed on bcp or could it be that there were more than the original two and different ones were measured this morning? The nurse sent me a message and stated that the doctor looked at my u/s and blood work and he said everything looked good.... so I'm not too worried I'm just curious if it's normal if they did shrink. 
Has anyone ever been placed on Desogen to wait to start meds? Were you able to start meds as planned or were there complications of any sort? TIA!

I'm sorry, I have no experience with Desogen. That's odd.  I would maybe ask the nurse or the doctor at your next ultrasound.  As long as they don't seem worried, I wouldn't be as well.

Hi @MommaWalla, the follicles measured on 3/18 were from your last cycle.  They are not the same as the follicles measured today, which are from your current cycle.  The 3/18 follicles would be long gone because you've completed the cycle.  The follicles measured today haven't shrunk, they're just not the same follicles.

@hoffmanr7 Thank you for responding. I go back in on Monday so I'll ask the nurse about it. 

@Bababatty It's the same cycle. I was put on Desogen on day 3 to keep me in a "holding pattern" until I was able to get the follistim. I've had Day 3 bloodwork and u/s twice this cycle.

Ah. A quick google tells me follicle sizes can rise and fall before they mature. You could ask on the IF board. There are entire threads for IVF.
