Just pee! Still waiting on results from my urine sample and then I'm busting out of this place. I guess I'm 2-3cm dilated and having some inconsistent contraction though, but that doesn't really mean much at this point.

I know it doesn't mean much, but I can't help but think you're like 1/4-1/3 of the way there (to 10cm)! I know it could be like that for weeks though.
I think that when they did my first check at 36 weeks with DD1 I was at a 3. I ended up making it to almost 40 before they induced and I was at a 6. It makes it feel like it's closer, but hopefully not just yet! My boss would break down if I left this early
Just caught up on this thread....wow, so many overwhelming things. June needs to settle some. I am not ready for everything to start getting crazy yet. I am just going to try to hide in my boring pregnancy bubble for another month or so.

Congratulations @Allybiery! You must be in shock. We can't wait to see pictures!
@Heliumgirl717, I'm glad you're getting out of there. The 3cm thing... It feels weird that the docs are A-ok with it. Will they put you on bed rest or anything?
@Wearmi1, I'm curious to learn more about abruption pain too. It seems like so many things can cause sharp pain at this point. How can you tell?
Thank you so much everyone. All the support means so much. I do have my laptop so I'll try to post some pictures tommorow. He is 4 lb 12 oz, covered in hair all over and looks exactly like his big brother did as a newborn, he's also been growling at everybody lol. I haven't had the chance to hold him yet and I think because of that and the traumatic nature of the birth, I've felt a little bit of disconnect from the whole situation.
TW: Traumatic birth, fear of infant loss . . .
Ok quick recap of the birth, about 4 am I started having some cramping and contractions. It was enough to wake me up but I didn't think much of it. I couldn't get back to sleep until around 6:30 and then Ds woke me up at 7:30. From 7:30 on I timed contractions to be around 4 mins apart and about 45 seconds long as they got more intense. called my ob and they recommend to come in. My mil came to watch my 18 month old and we headed to the hospital. Checked in around 10 and was checked to be at 3 cm, 80 effaced. That's when it really hit me that this baby was coming. My first was born at 32 weeks and coincidentally today I turned 32 weeks. Labored without meds for the next couple hours before requesting an epidural. As I'm getting the epidural I suddenly have a huge nose bleed, keep in mind I have no history of nose bleeds. After I get the epi and lay back down is when things get crazy. Everything is still a blur. I remember the look on my nurses face as she put an oxygen mask on me and called for help. At least 8-10 nurses started rushing in, tryin to move me, yanking cords out of the wall. All the while they kept checking for a heartbeat and getting nothing. Of course at this point I am balling. They are literally screaming down the hall for the Dr and OR to be ready. I was rushed to the or and the c section started, everything happend so fast. The look on the faces of the nurses and doctor were so unsettling. I was for sure I had lost him at this point. The c section was rough and pretty painful. Scariest moments of my life until I heard the best sound in the world, that little cry. As I was getting put back together, they checked him out, he's remarkably in great shape for his gestational age, breathing on his own, looks great, even crying and making a fuss. Since this is my second 32 weeker I'm pretty prepared for what to expect as far as the NICU and his stay there. I learned that my placenta had split from my uterus and baby wasn't getting any oxygen. If is hadn't have gone in and hadn't had quick acting medical staff, my baby would not be alive right now. So thankful. Gonna try and get some sleep. Thanks for listening and all your love and support ladies.
Congrats @Allybiery!! So thankful that your little guy made it here safely. That had to be so terrifying to go through. Big hugs to you. I hope you're able to get some rest and that his NICU stay is short! ❤
@Allybiery so glad LO is okay. I hope everyone involved heals mentally and physically quickly and that you get to hold your sweet boy soon.

@Allybiery Congrats to you! I am so sorry your experience has been so traumatic, but I hope the nicu stay is short and you get to hold your sweet baby soon!
@Allybiery Congratulations! That is such a crazy story and I am SO glad that he is here and perfect! Whew.
I am curious - do you know why they didn't attempt to stop your labor when you arrived? Obviously it turns out that that was a godsend that they didn't because he needed to get out ASAP, but it sounds like they didn't know that right away so I am surprised that they didn't try to stop it.

@JAGinMI When I first went in that was the plan coming from the staff. I forgot to mention that I had three rounds of medicine to try to stop contractions, plus iv fluids, which was really the only recourse at that point. I knew deep down there was no stopping this baby from the way the contractions were feeling though.
@Allybiery That sounds so terrifying, but I'm so glad you were right where you needed to be!!
@JAGinMI My OB told me at my 32 week appt that I'm at the point in my pregnancy where they would not try to stop labor. Ftm here so no clue if that is normal or not, but it definitely was a reality check.

Really?! I have no idea what the policy is at my office so I am definitely going to ask at my appointment tomorrow!

I do not think this is normal. Last pregnancy I was checked at 32 weeks because I was having severe/consistent BH, and they told me that if I went into labor early they'd try to stop it up to 36 weeks.
@Allybiery I am so happy to read your update. What a big boy you have! So glad you both are safe and I hope he has a short NICU stay! Have you decided a name yet?

My previous ob's policy was 34 weeks - so there is definitely some variation here. (Haven't checked this time around since I'm just about to hit 32 weeks, but they definitely wanted to stop my contractions last Friday even though there didn't appear to be progression from a cervix perspective.)
@Allybiery That story made me tear up. I'm so happy that your LO and you are okay. So many congratulations for you both! I hope that his NICU stay is short and that you get the rest you need.
I feel like our Bmb collectively needs a group hug. So many ladies trying to get through rough spots physically and emotionally. Lots of positive thoughts to everyone struggling with ill family members. Krex stay positive!
