How far along are you? 31 Weeks, single digit weeks to go!
How big is baby? Foam finger!
Upcoming appointments? Last weeks appointment went well, next OB Appt and growth US on the 3rd. Hospital tour this Thursday!
Any new symptoms or changes? Just the aches and pains from a growing belly: my back hurts more, sleeping positions are more trying on my body I wake up SUPER stiff. Also tiring out way faster than ever before.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: We got a call our glider is ready to be delivered! I think we should be getting a call next week or so about the rest of the nursery furniture. My baby shower is next Sunday the 30th - so between that and the furniture coming soon I am excited to start getting the things we need and getting settled.
GTKY: In honor of Earth Day today, what 'green' activities are part of your normal routines? If none, what would you like to start? Recycling! I have always put a huge effort into recycling properly. I use reusable shopping bags 95% of the time, but when I do get the plastic ones, we use them as trash bags around the house. I also use a refillable water bottle 95% of the time.
How big is baby? 4lbs 12ozs according to last scan
Upcoming appointments? Just my weekly ultrasounds
Any new symptoms or changes? Baby dropped a good two inches! I can actually get through the night without waking up from heartburn now!
Rants/Raves/Questions?It's been a whirlwind the last two weeks. Baby boy tried to make an escape a week and a half ago! Thankfully my water never broke and my cervix only dilated a little. Got steroid shots to help his lungs develop in case he tries to make another run for it! Doctor said no more work so I now have three weeks before expected induction and not sure what to do with myself! Just feel super thankful for paid maternity leave I don't know how you ladies in the U.S do it!
GTKY: In honor of Earth Day today, what 'green' activities are part of your normal routines? If none, what would you like to start? Recycling only but I would love to start a compost pail as well and I think our city is actually implementing a new system and sending out a compost pail to everyone!
@graceriesz so exciting that your nursery furniture and everything is coming together! Hope you have a blast at your baby shower!
How far along are you? 34 weeks! TB app says this is a milestone because babies born between 34-37 weeks are likely just fine and good to go if they are born! So yay!
How big is baby? Butternut squash
Upcoming appointments? We have our birth and labor education class all day today and tomorrow! I'm all dressed in my comfy clothes, and we've got 2 pillows and the "textbook" from our hospital all ready to go by the front door. We'll be leaving in about 10 minutes (if DH gets out of the shower in time lol). I like to be early to these things. Next NST + OB appointment is on Friday.
Also, our maternity photoshoot is a week from tomorrow. I have several possible outfits picked out and it's driving me crazy trying to decide which one(s) will look best in the photographs!
Any new symptoms or changes? Honestly just feeling really tight and uncomfortable most evenings. And baby movements are more uncomfortable because she stretches me so much. But I love knowing that she's alive and well in there!
Rants/Raves/Questions? It's been really hot here in NC lately. Yesterday was 90 degrees and it felt like 100 to me. Today is going to be hot too. I have finally reached the point in pregnancy where I'm hot all the time. Fortunately it's supposed to rain this evening and the next 3 days will be in the 60s. Definitely looking forward to that!
GTKY: In honor of Earth Day today, what 'green' activities are part of your normal routines? If none, what would you like to start? I'm like you @graceriesz! We recycle a lot. In fact our recycling is always piling over by the time they come to collect it. I almost feel like we could easily have our recycling come every week and the trash every other week, instead of vice versa I also use reusable grocery bags. In fact, I'm kind of obsessed with them and have way more than we ever need in one shopping trip. People make fun of me for it!

Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014 IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs IVF ER (July 2016) = 7 PGS normal embryos FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17 FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
@RaeR144 I hope your little one stays in for another 3 weeks and that you're able to relax and enjoy this time to yourself! At 34 weeks though you are good either way, but of course the longer baby stays in the better. Rooting for you and the little guy!
@graceriesz So exciting about your nursery furniture! Can't wait to see pics in the nursery thread!

@RaeR144 Glad your LO stayed put! Enjoy the time before he arrives.
@wifeinraleigh28 our recycling only picks up every other week too - it's annoying we can't get it every week! My parents (they live a few towns over) recycling bin is bigger than their trash bin, which makes so much sense! We don't generate too much trash right now, so we have our trash pick-up every other week - same as the recycling (this is likely to change with this LO arriving). Hope to see a maternity shoot photo or two!
Hoping that the picture thing on mobile gets fixed soon so we can all share these exciting photos!
Upcoming appointments? No, had one last week and asked doctor about swelling and she said it was normal, but still has me a bit worried since it's just one foot.
Any new symptoms or changes? Burping a lot lol and swollen foot.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone wash their snoogle pillow case ? I'm afraid Inwont be able to get pillow cover back on lol.
GTKY: In honor of Earth Day today, what 'green' activities are part of your normal routines? If none, what would you like to start?
I use 2 reusable water bottles at work everyday and we recycle at home.
@jennas312 yes I have washed my mini snoogle case a few times. When you go to put it back on turn it inside out and stick your arm in it, then grab your pillow end and pull it the case around it.
Any new symptoms or changes? Trying to get comfortable forSleeping seems impossible and definitely more pains coming and going.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone have a good suggestion for bottles for nursing? That's the biggest last thing on my the do list the buy. Last time I had to supplement right away and we had nipple confusion that lead to me just pumping for 10 months... Hoping to be more successful at breastfeeding this time.
GTKY: In honor of Earth Day today, what 'green' activities are part of your normal routines? If none, what would you like to start? I recycle at work. .. were terrible. We can't get our recycling picked up at our house so from time to think we try but most of the thinner things get thrown away because we have to drive to the recycling center. We want to grow a garden and a compost pile would be awesome.
@RaeR144 glad to hear baby is doing well. I signed up for short term disability. It doesn't pay much if I have the baby naturally... Only 4 weeks my policy has a two week waiting period, however if I was called off work it would kick in after two weeks through 6 weeks after the baby is born. Luckily this time around we could afford to pay for this benefit. I know a lot of ladies in the U.S. would have to start using PTO.
Upcoming appointments? No regular appointments for awhile, but as mentioned in the symptoms thread, I'm meeting with a midwife at the clinic in about 90 mins ...
Any new symptoms or changes? ...because I had very intense cramping for hours last night water/bath/lying down helped somewhat and they went away completely overnight, but I also had a fluid leak this morning so she's going to swab to see if it was amniotic fluid, as well as test for UTI's. It's probably nothing, but I'd rather know for sure than just take my chances.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Oh husband. He did genuinely help last night, running me a bath and getting me food/water/iPad to watch Netflix in bed, but he was also trying to work on something that didn't really need to be done last night, and also watch the hockey game, and overall I felt kind of low priority last night. He said he would come check on me in the bath (and I could call him if I needed anything), but I was in there by myself for over 45 mins and he never came in. Then today when I told him the midwife would meet us at the clinic his reaction was "today?! that's sudden" Well yes dear, I know it's 45 mins away and we didn't plan to go today but like, come on!
GTKY: In honor of Earth Day today, what 'green' activities are part of your normal routines? If none, what would you like to start?
We lived (until a few weeks ago) in a city where garbage pickup is severely limited (and its $5 per additional bag, plus they only pick up every other week) whereas recycling and green bin/compostsables are free, so it's second nature to recycle and compost.
Our side business involves making preserves so we use a lot of produce, which we only buy locally and fresh. It limits our production time during the year, but it's an important quality to us and our customers. Ideally DH would love to entirely grow our own supply, but so far our living situations have only allowed us to grow our own cayenne peppers to use, which is still pretty cool and people are always surprised we grew anything in the middle of Toronto.
Upcoming appointments? Just had one on Thursday. Very quick check up and tdap shot
Any new symptoms or changes? The other night I was worried about some leakage but it didn't continue so I'm not worried anymore. Getting pelvic pressure if I'm running around too much.
Rants/Raves/Questions? 2nd baby shower is tomorrow! Excited to see what we get and then also start organizing and purchasing the rest of what we need!
GTKY: In honor of Earth Day today, what 'green' activities are part of your normal routines? If none, what would you like to start? This is soooo bad, but we are not very green right now!!!! Something to work on
@tmrussell no advice here as I am FTM, but interested what others have to say!
@CapricaAndrea i'll check the symptoms thread incase you reported back there. But hope your appointment with the midwife went well and everything is OK.
@tmrussell My sister recommended Dr. Brown's wide neck newborn bottles. She said the wide neck bottles are best for nursing moms because they resemble a boob more. I've also been advised though to not even start pumping/using bottles until at least 10 days post partum so that the baby gets used to nursing and so that your body gets used to producing the needed supply. And even after you start pumping, you should never give a bottle (only other caregivers should). I know that these plans don't always work out, but this is what I've been told at least. Hoping to learn more at our breastfeeding class next month!
@CapricaAndrea I hope everything went well at the doctor yesterday! Please update us when you get a chance. I'm sorry about how DH was behaving. I think we've all been there at some point or another!

Thankfully everything went fine. I'm still waiting on results about whether if have a UTI and/or yeast infection, but the leak definitely wasn't amniotic fluid and baby is all good.
Even DH completely redeemed himself. For months now he's been unhappy about our midwives (as I've talked about many times in various threads) but on the way home he finally said that having the midwife go in and open the clinic just to check that me and baby were ok, on a day that they're normally closed, is something that he appreciates. And once he had time to process the inital change in plans, he also said that he would much rather take the time to go and make sure instead of just hoping that everything was fine. So yay!
How far along are you? 32 Weeks!! The big twin milestone is 34 weeks, when they could likely breathe independently.
How big is baby? Squash? They feel like giant bowling balls though.
Upcoming appointments? I'm every two weeks from now until the end, had one this week.
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm slowing down like in a major way. There is a "twin wall" that moms talk about, and I've hit it. Hard. I can't roll over, I can't get up off the floor easily, I can't do outings or errands anymore either. It's just... resting and trying not to hurt myself. 4-8 weeks left. I can do this... right? Ugh.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant at the OB for trying to scare me with stats that exist only for identical twins and not di/di twins. I'm over OB care. I want a midwife.
GTKY: In honor of Earth Day today, what 'green' activities are part of your normal routines? If none, what would you like to start? We recycle everything we can, pick up litter on walks, make our own cleaning and personal products where we can. I want to start a compost this year, since we have two giant gardens now!
@wifeinraleigh28 I am hoping things go better for me this time but last time around I had to start supplementing when we can home from the hospital I never made a ton of milk. Breastfeeding was probably the hardest adjustment. My best advice is things don't always go as planned. It was hard for me to curve my personal expectations. I didn't understand how something so natural can be so hard!!
I think I am going to purchase nipples for the Medela bottles that come with my pump and I have like 3 free bottles that are wide... Can't think of the name of them. That should be enough to get us started. If breastfeeding goes well I won't need a lot of bottles for a few months.
