Labor Buddies Poll

I like doing polls, I think we should do more polls. So here's another one, do we want to do labor buddies? I don't think this topic has ever come up yet. A labor buddy is someone you share info with, and you alert them when you're in labor and they make an AW labor post for you!

I'm all for it, even though my baby's birth date is already scheduled I guess I can text my labor buddy when I check in at the hospital? Also there's always a chance I could go early.

I love polls too! I think maybe since we can't do gif parties or GTKY with pictures right now, we should do daily polls until the mobile gets fixed. I think October does a POTD (not every day but close), and I'm always snooping on their polls.

I picked other because I'm not really sure how to answer. I like the idea of labor buddies, but I also am ok with just updating after the birth with the whole birth story. So I guess I am Switzerland on this one. Additionally, I love the idea of polls. I'm all for POTD

I like the idea of it, but it would be hard for someone to easily get a hold of me via text or call since I have an international number. I'm down for email or texting via Google hangouts app.

To play the other side though,  I think some people might get bad buddies who go MIA. 

Also yes to the polls.

Like @DPandMB, I feel like Switzerland. I'm in if we do it but no biggie if we don't.

@lap018 I just went back to read through the vax poll and I gotta say, I'm impressed by how tame the conversation was. I've seen that topic go really far south really fast.

But for sure yes to the polls in general. That is what this poll was about, right?

Yes to polls and I'm open to labor buddies, but I think it's best to wait just a tiny bit to see who remains active, unless you all have yours picked out.

I'm a fan of polls, too! I think a labor buddy would be really nice but agree that waiting a little bit before selecting them might be better. And I'm pretty new here so take my opinion with a grain of salt

I am in, by the time labour and delivery came around last time the bump had blown up and we were all on FB together so it was easier to match up/ communicate so I am not sure how this is going to work but I will go along for the ride!

I'm meh about it, mostly bc my labor went so fast with DS, the post wouldn't have been up very long!  I expect this one will be faster.  I think it could be fun, but I'd still wait u til closer to birth before we do it

I use whatsapp. It's great for international phone calls, texts and pictures and runs on very little internet. I'm fine with having someone overseas or anywhere for that matter. Group chats on whatsapp are great too for all android and iphones.

@ColoradoHiker I'm the opposite- my last labour went on for days- checked into the hospital Sunday morning, didn't have DS until Tuesday... my labour buddies and thread kept me going and entertained through a bunch of that.

I like polls. I am not a huge fan of giving my number out to strangers, though. My last labor was very long and very boring, I think people would've gotten tired of me before DD was born

I had a labor buddy on my last BMB.  She had her baby a few days before me, and was too busy (obviously) to post about my labor and birth of DS.  I was one of the very last on my previous BMB to give birth (I think there was one or two after me).  It was anticlimactic and I was honestly a bit bummed because I loved the labor buddy posts.  Anyway, I'll sit this one out!

That's horrible! I'm sorry that happened to you FWIW I wouldn't do that to you! We can reconsider later on as we get closer and the ones who are going to disappear have done so.
